I think 'needed the boot' is a bit strong! The problem seems to be that he didn't listen to anyone else. Sounds like he just needed a good editor/producer figure to challenge his decisions and make him more collaborative which didn't happen because he was in charge of everything. Could it be that he just needed a boss?
Could it be that he has just gotten a boss?

I was following the previous thread, my opinion was, and still is, that the one not working properly was the scanner, so as I was scanning on alioth a few days ago I did a couple of more tests in the meantime. The best one was over this one hex which had a small amount of malachite and limestone, like 5000 and 10000, ended up extracting like 5300 and 9500 (got the screenshot but I'm not at home atm), pretty much self-explanatory.
Interesting that you have one example of it working, not a very accurate example though, try it a few more times with actual rescaning and recording the results.

On twitter didn't they say it was nerfed in an earlier patch?
yes, but then they also said they were aware of it as a known issue, they keep contradicting themselves so you just can't believe anything the DU twitter account says. I suspect it is different people monitoring the one twitter account and not knowing what they are talking about.

Would it be worth testing with these methods using an avatar with 0 mining talents and comparing results?
I did with an alt, it was removed as I only tested it once, but the results are the same. A level 5 skill player gets the same bonus as a level 0 skill player
It is easy to reproduce this test, simply scan, go mine one type of ore, then re-scan afterwards.

I’ve eel asked for my 3 weeks of training time back. But they didn’t even respond.
guess I have to write another bloody ticket.
yea. I asked heaps, in discord a couple of times, a lot on twitter, I think they want to pretend it's not a problem

Ever thought that NQ dont was solo players to be 'self sufficient' they might want them to have to engage with the community / civilisation. The issue i have here is why everyone thinks they are competing in a game where we are supposed to be working together to build something?
Also why does everyone act like you HAVE to mine in this game, I know loads of people enjoying the game who rarely mine. They buy ore from miners. Why sell ore to a miner for less than the bots will buy it? So to buy ore you need to pay more than the bots pay, how to then to get money? Making stuff and selling it? Players are already selling lots of items for less than their ore costs, so how can you survive buying high and selling low?

This is from this morning, as you can see i mined 3196l out of a 2624l node, i have mining efficiency lvl 3, so15% increase, instead it came out slightly more than 20% additional ore. I'd say that either the talent is completely bugged or the additional amount comes from a scanner miscalculation/bad approximation and the talent is simply giving you more ore per click.
Btw, considering how much a miner mines this talent is still a benefit, ofc there are better talents to be taken before this.
So what this suggests is that the skill is only broken for some?

Well, since a lot of us decided to speak with our wallets, I'd sincerely hope that you'd come to the conclusion that it's your paycheck on the line if you don't listen....
I doubt that, there was a lot of noise by a vocal minority, I doubt many people left over this and most of those that did were going to leave anyway, it's early days for DU and a lot of players that started playing the beta were always going to decide that it isn't their sort of game while others decide it is their type of game

I completely disagree. Since most crashes are caused by bugs - at least for me... maybe the rest of you are sloppy pilots - we shouldn't be penalized for that.
Sloppy pilots should be penalized, but yea fair call, once the bugs that cause crashes are gone then crash damage should be a thing

Changing the schematic prices is defintiely needed, even tho schematics themselves are fine. What i miss in this update is how to make PvP worthwhile again. While its good that ships destroyed in PvP will be full stopped i doubt that the components salvaged will really be enough to cover the cost, but we will see about that.
And just so you don't forget, once again: we need more content and we need a complete revamp of the repair system! There are many good suggestions about this in the forum, keeping it as it is would be a great waste of potential.
I think players need to chill on the PvP and ignore it until the actual proper PvP updates are coming, which is why I think element damage through crashes should remain, PvP wont be genuine part of this game for several months yet
-
Element destruction should still happen in crashes. Maybe give new players another way to repair them in their first month of playing.

Thank you, it is rare to see effectively used satire in this day and age.
Players can be ignored here in the forums too, I highly recommend it as a way of removing trolls from your day to day life ?

Heyho Noveans!
The latest Dual Universe patch has hit many players hard. I heard that many players have left DU and many industries are no longer running as before.
I suspect that the hordes of players leaving the game are over stated, a lot of players were always going to leave during the early stages. But number of players leaving are far less than the noisy complainers make it seem. On Discord I started blocking all the people who say they are leaving, and demand a wipe etc. After I had blocked 48 people I stopped seeing people saying lots of players are leaving. So 48 people is about the total number of players who are really thinking of leaving or making all the noise about it in my opinion. 48 players is nothing.

Make them need structure, so a single voxel pillar can't support the weight so they end up having to be really big to be strong

Market bots need to be completely removed. We will never have a supply & demand player based economy while they exist.
Also, when a market bot buys ore I think that ore is lost to the game unless people are buying ore from the bots, maybe they do. I never buy ore from th market though

Damage should only be perma if it is via weapon fire.
I disagree, if you crash there should damage that counts towards the restore count, damage is damage.

I think the changes are good. At least in the safe zone you should be able to crash without having to fear that someone will steal your ship.
A compromise would be to have at least a few hours to repair after a crash before everyone can repair it, at least in the safe zone.
I think the 3 planet safe zone should just be safe from being shot at, a crashed ship should be claimable. But I like the idea of a compromise in the 3 planet safe zone, say a 2 hour hour window to reclaim then any one can attempt to salvage it.

Can I make a suggestion for a feature? It's a pretty simple one, I think it would be helpful to be able to export the list of required items from a Blueprint to the clipboard. Then we could easily tick of what we have already made etc. The little scrolling list is not really easy to keep track of for a large numbers of items

Another crafting from inventory suggestion, I thought keep them together if possible. Say I am trying to craft Hematite to Iron, I have 2850 Hematite. My current options are bang numbers in until the red warning appears, or get a calculator. How about a button to just craft the max possible? Craft all etc?

Same, any ship I made has the air brakes hidden because you need a bazillion of them in anything larger than a small core and who wants an ugly ship ? The damned wall of engines design is ugly enough, now we will have walls of brakes.
The Devs need to play their own game so they understand how it works, You can't make a medium or large core ship without dozens of brakes.
