Iorail got a reaction from Mordgier in RIP Market 15
? Maybe now they will fix the exploit, because of course it happened to them.......and maybe someone will get the hammer this time......
Nah, I’m expecting too much ?

Iorail reacted to Mordgier in Moving Industry
Keep in mind it's very possible that your industry may be larger than 10 L hub can store - which will result in a BP that is useless because there is no way to deploy it...NQ has yet to respond on how to deal with that scenario.

Iorail got a reaction from Evil_Porcupine in Unknown people took the base
This was reported with step by steps on how to reproduce the third day of soft opening, the ticket was looked at but never responded to and still open right now. The sad part is they won’t do anything about it or punish those involved, good luck OP

Iorail reacted to michaelk in JC - This game is not Ready Player One....
If this game is supposed to be a community-driven civilization sandbox, making an event that caters to a tiny minority of players (and JC's apparent Halliday-inspired ego) isn't very interesting or useful. It makes me think that the "civilization" they want to create will mirror all the boring issues of RL society where only a select few get to do anything.
Yes, it's a competition, but not a fair one. It seems like it was more engineered for press and to satisfy the CEO's obsessions.
Honestly...I don't care about the easter egg very much. It just isn't that interesting to me.
What is interesting is that they thought this was a good use of anyone's time considering the state of the game.
Maybe JC is leading NQ based on his personal whims...he's not interested in what's best for the game, his company/employees, or the community because he can't see the product objectively anymore. It's his oasis and we're all just lucky to live in it.
Happy to change my tune and admit how wrong I was....just need some evidence to make me believe that JC isn't a stereotypical egotistical academic narcissist. ?♂️

Iorail reacted to Elrood in JC - This game is not Ready Player One....
Backchannels are problem - but one that could have been said was not officially allowed by NQ. Admitting to giving handouts in public podcast made official by company and staring company top people, is quite few levels further into BS.

Iorail got a reaction from Moosegun in Not Punishing Desolation was weak and poor from NQ
The problem is that they continue to do it after told to stop, playing it as “oh I didn’t know this was illegal”. Plus they encourage the use of exploits and cheats on their org charter, they have it written in black and white. But what it’s worst, imho, it’s that even after everything and the continue use of exploits and cheats even after told to stop, no one have been punished at all, again, even after NQ’s post and warning, they are still doing what they where doing before.

Iorail got a reaction from Shaman in New Docking mechanic
There seem to be a lot of confusion on how docking works now due to recent changes, so I will explain how to do it and the conditions necessary for it to work:
We will call the bigger ship Parent, the smaller core Child.
-Core has to be at least one size smaller.
-You can’t use the maneuvering tool at all to guide the Child to dock it into the Parent anymore. Using the maneuvering tool will cause your Child ship to “fall off”, most likely blowing your Parent ship and killing you. It has to be flown in after you potion it with the maneuvering tool.
-You have to physically fly and land your Child ship onto the Parent ship,
-Elements from the Child ship can’t be touching your Parent ship, with the exception of landing gear or voxels. The Child ship will not dock even if you fly it and landed, this includes the core.
-When using landing gear, this has to be positioned all the way at the bottom of the build box. (New, from Ligator)
-The Child ship can’t be heavier than the Parent ship, I would stay at least 10t under.
-Make absolutely sure that you land your Child ship completely (speed is at 0 and the landing gear is touching, all of it, or your voxels are completely touching the Parent)
-You can use a remote control to fly it to your Parent ship and docked it on top, no sides or underneath (Thanks Emptiness)
This is all we have discovered so far, in case I missed something, I will update this post. If any other changes happen, we may have to rewrite this again. Enjoy everyone!

Iorail reacted to Mordgier in Industry changes which may possibly come (and TW as well)
I agree with much of what you said. I do not agree with you on the wipe... Or that NQ should touch industry.
They are attempting to fix an economy where there are no consumers by reducing producers.
Until elements are destroyed entirely the economy will not work.

I never suggested same punishment. Either way, this is a moot point as NQ has already stated that they will not punish for this retroactively.
My point is that if NQ is going to start punishing for exploits - it can't JUST be this one because selectively applying the policies to some cases of exploitation and entirely turning a blind eye to others is hardly just.

Iorail reacted to blazemonger in Power management as way to nerf insdustry?!
Well, what he is saying makes very little sense and it seems he really does not know much about this at all as he is clearly guessing. He does not know emotes are in, he even says he is "theorizing" and "heard where it is being used" so he has no actual information.. Hence making it up as he goes along
He seems to have "talking points" prepared or given but his responses are really of the mark overall and make little sense.
I'd say it's potentially dangerous to let a level design lead guess in public on game mechanics which may have a big impact.

No. That's compromise and I refuse to compromise because I'm an adult or something, I don't know.

Iorail reacted to Rrobin in New Docking mechanic
And all they had to do was add a docking RDM and remove the docking part of Manuvering, Like they have 3 rdm for containers. view ,put in ,take out, why bot have 2 RDM for docking, manuver and docking. This is stupid......
-
Iorail reacted to GraXXoR in New Docking mechanic
I suggested an RDMS fix in the long exploit thread... But nope, they have to bludgeon a perfectly working feature of the game into the ground. I swear they did it as a middle finger to the players.... "You guys keep complaining and making noise so f--- you..."

Iorail reacted to Ligator in New Docking mechanic
Ok we solved it. Apparently the landing gear has to be in the very bottom of the build box. Then it is easy to land and dock, even with manouver tool. If the gear is not situated there one cannot land.
I will rebuild my xs ship and make some experiments tonight.
So. There seems to be a solution that allows you to dock, but the ships has to be built with landinggear in the absolute bottom of buildbox.

Iorail reacted to GraXXoR in New Docking mechanic
None of my shuttles dock any more:
If I just manoeuvre, of course that doesn't work... but even if i get in and get out, the ship starts to bounce around and jiggle. after a minute or so, it will stop moving or fall off entirely.
However, moving the host leaves the smaller ship in place, undocked.
My usual playstyle of heavy interplanetary hauler/local shuttle is no longer viable... For me, it is completely broken.
Well, my fault for playing an alpha, I suppose.
But damn, some of dem edgelord comments on dis thread, doe... talk about defensive. LOL.

Iorail reacted to GraXXoR in PvP is Broken aka Pay to Win
What? You can vote multiple times? That's not like NQ to implement a useful feature and then make it worthless by leaving it open to abuse... ?
-
Iorail reacted to GraXXoR in PvP is Broken aka Pay to Win
If this is official NQ, it's even more fscked than I thought. This is completely unenforceable without a FOIP enabled camera also running under EQU8.
Without access to a camera in the house, how will JC know if someone's daughter/wife/gf/partner is actually playing or if the dad hasn't stood up, walked over to her computer and taken control...?
ludicrous. There is no way to prove someone is or isn't multiboxing, let alone enforce it.
but yeah, running two instances on the same computer, if EQU8 or whatever it's called can't handle it then that should be verboten.

Iorail got a reaction from GraXXoR in New Docking mechanic
@Emptiness positioning has nothing to do with docking... cause what I say was you can’t use the maneuvering tool to dock, you can move your ship with the tool sure, but you still need to get in the cockpit or use a remote control, that cancels the maneuvering tool use. I still want to know how you say you docked a core and container only using a remote control tho, cause this don’t work on my end for 2 reasons. One elements don’t dock, and second, how do you fly a core and container only without propulsion or a cockpit?

Iorail got a reaction from [BOO] Sylva in PvP is Broken aka Pay to Win
You are really trying so hard at not wanting to understand this, do you? You need to get off your high horse before you fall off it, cause I’m the last person to advocate for cheats or exploits, and I will report my own son if I ever catch him cheating.
The game anticheat prevents you from running 2 accounts on the same pc, thus not allowed by game rules.
The game company can’t deny those with multiple game accounts to run the game in different computers on the same household at the same time if they are been run by different people, this will kill family gaming together.
Its virtually impossible to report someone and get them ban for doing so, as in how do you prove it’s the same person playing different accounts at the same time.
Stop trying so hard, it’s not rocket science.

Iorail got a reaction from WildChild85 in Not Punishing Desolation was weak and poor from NQ
It’s simple really, they won’t enforce it when it continues to happen over and over.
It’s well known that there is an org that promotes the use of exploits and glitches, and it’s even written on their own org rules. That alone should be enough to permanently ban the leaders of that org and soft ban everyone else (at least a week) that belongs to that org. But they really question here is why don’t they do it? There is tangible proof, and they repeatedly continue to abuse exploits.
Is no one curious why nothing is ever done? Really? Who are this players is the real question, why they continue to be exempted. Besides, even if they get all ban, they will be playing minutes after the ban with a different account, and that is also well known. I stop caring right after exploit 3 of Beta, because this is when I realized they will never punish them, ever (not counting Alpha bs here but some of us know what happened).
