Yes that style, and also the style that you build and leave on the ground and it collecta the static charge in the local atmosphere, a small generator can run your fridge, and that is with todays tech.

I think there should be a higher energy output solar panel in the mid range, something that could be discovered in 500 more years of research, Also how about a Tesla style atmosphere generator?

The problem with you logic here is, Servers do cost money to run, so if you don't want to pay a monthly fee to play a game, I suggest you stick to the ones that don't have this set-up. MMO's on the other hand HAVE this set up, and you can expect to pay a monthly fee to keep their server going. All of these BS arguments about not wanting to pay can be boiled down to that simple idea. I am glad they plan to charge monthly, and will have no problem paying them.

I would have to say that this idea will not be allowed, as they said they are not going to allow weapons of mass destruction, etc... but it would be sweet as hell to crack a planet with one of these.

@Captaintwermotor I thought we settled it was goats? On a serious note though, they did mention in one of the devblogs that there would be player made banks, which implies the ability to have a currency. My guess will be it is faction based, and named by the faction.

I think the devs have a good plan for how this is going to work. If we made it a matter of hours to get to any star system, then all the pve style players would jet off to some remote system nobody goes to, so they could build in piece...

If i remember correctly if the territory is owned you set the flag for mining, so no flag no digging.

Maybe you just need a location seed, to jump to from a stargate....which is why you need to build one once you get there, cause you cant jump out until you have a stargate.

I think your still missing the fact that someone could join your city, gain crafting rights for their business and then just make everything they need for assassins etc in your city. so inspecting my inventory is not going to help you. I do have to say though, this has been a highly entertaining topic to be in, you crack me up man.

Thanks Yamamushi, this is what I was refering to, you launch a drone, it drops a seed and you jump to the seed. no self making star gate, you have to build it.

I agree it would be better left to players as long as there is tech also available to counter your searching tech, so either tech or skill but one needs to be there. Also as a whole other idea for you to ponder.... You dont allow weapons into your city, but with the nanoformer, i can just make them once past your security check point.
