Unfortunately yes, this is mostly due to the fact we are having to answer the exact same questions over and over again and it is irritating at best. This is why Cybrex created this post so we could avoid having to do so, but from the looks of it people do not want answers they want to fight and argue.

Well, it would also make said "Plastic Surgeon" viable in-game, due to people might be going after your very name if you were to betray an organisation. With that, they should also lose track of you in a Friends List. That's some deep undecover stuff right there. Why create a new character? Plastic Surgeon can help with that. Perhaps with a "DNA" sample acting as an identification of your character's ID on the server. If the enemy has you in their databases, then, good luck withe infiltration going anywhere.

While the game is in 1st Person view, the need for a character creation is indeed something that makes a person recreate themselves in a game.

Said Character Creator should have, in my opinion, preset bodytypes, three heigh levels, with possibly each body preset offering something and taking something else away. Bigger body types and muscular? More carrying capacity and/or longer short energy burst activites, like sprinting. Smaller ones? A bonus on reduction on the lock-on of enemies on you and possbily, but at the cost of less of a carrying capacity, with the middle body type being the perfect balance of both.

As for the face, we can go for, pretty much anything. If the game can support 10000 players in one place, the small facial features won't even play a role in the long run, with clever LOD magic being utilised at a distance, to reduce any potential popping texture issues. If the other guy is 10 kliks away, you won't be making out facial features anyway.

As for scars, that's something that should be a remnant of a battle, not something preset. Given the Resurrection Node DevBlog, our characters are wisped away moments before actual death by the quantum magic involved in the Nodes. Some of the battle's scars should be a remant, like, the "killing" blow, being a particular scar, depending on the weapon that caused said scars. Burnmarks from lasers, rugged patch of skin from a bullet, or cuts from a melee weapon (fingers still crossed).

Tattoos should be something done in-game in my opinion, not in the character creator. Like, a badge of honor being tattooed onto someone to display their actions as an impromptu medal, possibly, being designed by a player in the organisation, in-game.

These are my opinions and I don't expect everyone to accept them. I'm just advocating on freedom of customisation as a player proceeds the game regarding facial features, or ink on their body. For all we know, there could be a "Plastic Surgeon" specialisation in the game for medics, complete with a name change. *paranoia intensifies*.

Nearly similar reasons why I no longer go through Steam Early Access, too many times burned on the proverbial rear.

Anyway enough of yet another troll - attention grabbing post for me - back to writing html code and working on a alliance constitution for me.

Exactly. WoW is a Theme Park MMO, everything in it are predefined and in dungeons you play that crank-catcher machine to catch pretty new toys to fiddle with until you get a new series of toys to work your crank-catching machine skills in getting. A sandbox doesn't need "variety" of cockpits. Varieties of cockpits defeat the point of the game entirely which is varieties of arranging the cockpit in a different place as you build your spiffy jet. In fact, large ships won't even HAVE a cockpit, they have a bridge you gotta build from scratch and assign monitoring stations for the bridge staff.

It's just that people don't even bother reading the FAQs and turn the whole forum into a depressing, repetitive dystopia.

And to the OP themself, Space Engineers suffers from the fact they didn't build a stable netcode for their game, because they started from a simple Minecraft clone in space and ended up wanting to build an MMO without having invested in the server tech itself. The DUAL devs have instested in the tech itself, a revolutionary system of cloud-processing which CAN in fact allow for variety of cockpits. But hey, you seem to think games in pre-Alpha got all the features set to go. Pffft, what? Game Designers are actually designing a game and have to take some step-by-step approach in developing the game? Nah, just ask for cockpits in Alpha.

This is why I'm afraid of Alpha Access in Steam. First month in Alpha Test uninitiated people will ask for cockpit varieties, instead of helping the devs with any bugs or issues.

I don't think we will ever be rid of people jumping in and launching first post ever inquiries about something they care about.

However, with this FAQ we can band together, reference them here, and just approach them with open arms, open hearts, and open minds.

    Thanks again Cybrex.

i dont see the devs being able to force someone to log off in a certain location. but you could force a waiting period where they cant be attacked or move for like 10 seconds. this stops people from logging off as they are about to be attacked. im not sure what happens to ships though. as buildings and such stay and one would assume a multi crew ship wont vanish when one person logs off. NQ doesnt call ships a ship or a building a building. they are all constructs so in that sense im assuming that if you get dc'ed in combat your ship might be gone when you get back and you log back to be spaced or at the nearest spawn point

probably going to be pretty close to scale. But we will have better engines in the game given that it is set in the future. Im kind of hoping that the devs dont tell us. I would love for it to be up to us to figure out how far the next planet is given that when the game first goes live no one will be flying to space atleast for awhile.

SO, from what I gather the questions are :

Part 1 : I don't want to lose often. Easily avoidable, don't leave the safe zone.

Part 2 : I want to play solo in an MMO enviroment, not wanting PvP interferrence to do my stuff. That's easy, It's called Fallout 4, endless grinding hours of Minutement quests, you'll love it.

    Part 3 : I want classes in a SANDBOX GAME. 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... always count internally, always

Part 4 : Make Safezones a dull place to live in. Tots agree. Make safezones the equivalent of gullags, where hope, joy and smiles go and cry to sleep. Make everything got reinforcements and make the game the worst part of EVE. Really? Reinforcement times? The game is not going to have I-win buttons anyway, the Territory Claim Unit will take a day to be set up anyway. No need for "reinforcement" times on buildings through the magic of nonsense.

I'll be expecting the hate coming.
