Make a handy item, let's say, a tablet that cannot be duplicated ingame.
Tablet shows host of player specified web request plus response.

Probably: Give the player a save place to store them while afk.
Possibility of alternative player managed currency bound to ingame object: Done.
Possibility of player managed "certificates of ownership" ect. Done. Am i wrong?

Caesares got a reaction from Holylifton in Realistic incentives for City building
I believe cities will pop up around trading hubs. Trading hubs need markets. Markets need stations and gas stations. Gas stations need transport and goods from far away. Transport needs more stations and infrastructure which need construction. Construction needs construction companies which then need more materials, which then bring traders to the area which then make houses and bases, and so the city begins to grow and grow in such a way similar to western cities. Additionally all these facilities would need maintenance, security, and transport infrastructure for just walking, which on it's own would help spur business, and perhaps even power as you mentioned. Mining should not be too easy on a large scale, or else it will make it to easy and flood the market, but it should not be turned into a difficult thing to do either. The cities that are made around just around resources are always temporary. Jita, in EvE, became a trade hub because it used to be full of asteroids. Now you can hardly see a single one, but because all the players went there to sell and buy goods and now there are factories there it remains an important area.

What ends up happening is that if a city is built near resources and is able to build other infrastructure, say services, factories, and trading houses, it will be able to then simply use these massive facilities to work imported goods, which will then support the trading houses and because of all the volume people will go there, which increases volume which generally increases the amount of people going to that trade hub, etc. I think that factories and other such added value processes should be expensive investments, not mobile operations, as this will force centers of commerce to form and cause cities to grow more easily.

That's just my personal opinion, I am open to any other ideas.

Caesares got a reaction from gravetender in What do people think of the current economic system?
I understand the current system that is proposed would be setup and run by the game, not by a free market. Although I realize this is normal, and all games have some way of adding money into the game through non player activities (missions, etc.), I was wondering if anyone thought that a free market system, based overwhelmingly on economic decisions of the citizens not NPCs, would be a better idea than a centralized system which could favor certain businesses over others.

    Thank you

    Dear community members,

It has come to our attention that abusive recruitment practices, as well as practices to artificially inflate organization sizes, have been recently used more and more in some organizations.

After having conducted an investigation regarding New Genesis, and discovered the following infractions:
    - Recruitment attempts that are harassment by private message through automated bots on Discord.
    - Ghost Accounts to inflate the size of the organization artificially.

It has been decided to reset the member list of the organization to its sole leader, TheMasterArchitect.
Furthermore, as New Genesis has been already twice at the center of troubles regarding recruitment ethics in the past, involving at least once (if not more) its leader, a temporary ban has been applied to him.

    Best regards,
    The Novaquark Team.

Caesares got a reaction from CyberCrunch in Do not implement one currency / Implement endless currencys
If a cryptocurrency where to work in DU there would have to be several factors involved to make it successful.

    1. Unlike most cryptocurrencies, it should be heavily centralized, with a company acting as a bank/broker to make sure each side keeps up their deal. (problem with this is that it is not necessary to have a cryptocurrency for this, so it would essentially be a hard sell on would normally be a broker service)

    2. A way of pinning value (tying the cryptocurrency to an in-game resource, a certain amount of credits, etc.) This is also problematic, as it would require either A: the company backing the currency having these resources in advance or B: the company using the cryptocurrency that it has as a way of raising funds to do other deals to eventually amass enough money/resources to back the currency, similar to the way banks loan and deal on debt.

Note for 2: This could just be a starting point, and then having the currency payed for online with in-game currency and real world currency, but most probably this pinning of value will have to continue for the duration of the currencies life time.

Also, making it so that each company could make it's own in-game currency would make it incredibly difficult to play, like early Europe, having to trade between dozens, if not hundreds of minor currencies would make it difficult for everyday players and near impossible for new players.

I don't really see the problem. They have shown us a lot of what they have done, and they are making remarkable progress. Even if it is 'postponed' it would be premature to say anything at this point, especially all the progress that has already been made.

Sonic booms would be difficult to implement. Imagine this, thousands of ships, on one planet, producing sonic booms. It would be a pain for the servers, and could make it nearly impossible to fly.

Maybe as a sound effect it could be cool.
