  1. What about economics? T5 will available wherever there are buyers... including in the SZ.
  2. Don't bother with a base on the prison planet (aka Sanctuary). Just use it to learn basic mining, basic industry, basic building, and then move on. Alioth is easy to get to (shuttle from Sanc markets 1-10). Once you're space-capable (or ask someone for a ride), Thades and Madis are also good places for a first base. All the other planets are good for now too, but will eventually be combat-enabled.
  3. Even a minimal nanopack can hold a L container - only 3746L. You just need to unload your pack into your S containers before you go pick up the L containers.
  4. Have you noticed that the game is in development? - optimistically called beta, but we all know it's really still alpha (i.e. not yet feature complete). Missions in unsafe space are coming. Asteroids (other than the belt around Thades) are coming - probably including if not exclusively in unsafe space. Combat on planets is coming. I'm not 100% sure NQ won't abandon the game, but assuming they keep developing it, everything you want is on their list.
  5. Has NQ CM gotten its head out of ... um... a hole... and started providing in game support again yet? Their stupid bugs just blew up my ship. They really need to fix my ship and move it back to my base (where I respawned after their stupid lag/desync bug killed me.) I'll be back when they get their act together... yeah, I know... not holding my breath. Ship owner Hyacinth Partners Ltd. Ship name: HPL Goldwing v0_5
  6. Yes. It's such a pain having to retype the BP so I can plan buying the parts. (I put the list in a spread sheet and add price and market and then use the spread sheet to plan the budget and the route to pick stuff up.
  7. We will get to take our helmets off. That was a stretch goal... I hope we'll some choices about hair - color/style and colors - skin/eyes. Maybe even some face feature shapes, but I'm not holding my breath for that. and various space suits - I'm expecting that to be behind a paywall. I doubt we'll be able to take our suits off, but in a sense, that's just a different suit, so maybe.
  8. It's always struck me as odd that rockets are such a high tier. (Are the rockets still T3? The fuel is only T2 now.) They do burn a huge amount of fuel. The tradeoff is thrust to mass and thrust to cross section are really good.
  9. That happened right at the start of beta when a particular alliance of orgs (mostly) objected to the way the markets were set up and NQ changed them. (I'm not in that alliance of orgs and I disagree with the change), but it is an example of what you're talking about. Also, because the flight model is written in Lua and we have access to the source code, quite a few of us "fixed" the flight model for our own constructs and reported to NQ what we were doing. NQ made some very nice updates to the stock flight model based on what we players did. (AFAIK, NQ took ideas, not code, and wrote their own code for the changes.)
  10. I'd rather be able to load in a voxelized obj file into the game, but NQ said no to that a long time ago.
  11. Did she leave too? I hope the RIP is not meant literally.
  12. Star Citizen is great, but there's no building and never will be. Except for very limited - stick some modules together - base building (in the far future). There's really no crafting, although there's ore refining just to increase the value before you sell it. The mining is more interesting, i.e, harder to learn and to do, than in DU. It has better combat, ship to ship and AvA, both PVE and PVP, but lag and desync sometimes interfere. There's a well developed mission system. But the game definitely isn't finished. If that's satisfying for you, go for it. Starbase looks horrible to me. When DU collapses, I'll probably go back to SC for MMO and KSP for ship building - I have a pretty capable space plane in KSP that I've been having fun with.
  13. Compacting the player's base back to their inventory would be appropriate. A player doesn't have a right to have a base on someone else's tile and if you get kicked out of your org, that org is now someone else (other than you or your org). Yes, fixing the underlying issues is better, but absent that, fixing the resulting CF on a case by case basis would be polite.
  14. Totally agree... but the reason for not having it is that PVP is free (once you have combat mechanics) - the players provide it for you. PVE is extremely expensive - you have to develop the AI and provide server resources to run it as well as develop scripts for the NPC actions. It's not gonna happen within NQ's budget.
  15. Another big loss for NQ. They're really on a streak.
  16. They've clearly abandoned their users. My guess is they're looking for a buyer for the tech and they'll be closing the game down soon. They just aren't acting like they intend to build a game anymore.
  17. Considering that NQ's response to "could you help us remove constructs left in our city by players who have left the game?' was 'form a new org and make a new city' (does anyone disagree that that translates as 'fuck off and stop bothering us'?)... I'm pretty sure there's zero chance they'll ever address market clutter.
  18. Presumably, space cores will have protection similar to territories once that mechanism is in place.
  19. Wow. What stupid MFs! That even worse than NQ's usual bot response: Try relogging and clearing the cache (for something that has nothing to do with client issues).
  20. It depends what problems you were having with mining a year ago. We don't get stuck with unending Pending Op so much any more. The compass works correctly on all planets now. We have supernodes (100KL of ore in one place) and meganodes (1000KL or ore in one place) now. Bot buy prices for T1 and T2 are really high, but bots no longer buy other ores. And even T1/T2 bot buy orders can dry up especially of high pop planets. The actual prospecting and mining mechanic hasn't changed much. Did we have auto-dig/auto-mine a year ago? We do now... helps a lot with carpel tunnel.
  21. Easy to avoid (by sending cheap warp scouts) and fairly high risk for the owner, but the risk is having to defend in PVP - which presumably is a goal for PVPers (not that I believe that in general). I like it.
  22. Because NQ never moderates by double standard? Riiiight.
  23. Poll need an All of the above option lol. I mostly play solo. Sometimes my bf rides along as my gunner. Sometimes another friend rides along, although I think she may have dropped out of the game. I have small org that functions as my in-game business. I'm an active citizen of the Empire - largest org in the game afaik. I guess I don't tick medium org, but I got everything else lol.
