  1. Are you guys sure about the whole "redacted" part? Cause I'm pretty sure they said [Redacted] won't be removed, and that only [Redacted] would be.
  2. Well, the founder packs are ended, and with them the Lifetime Sub. Soon, they'll release supporter packs which you can use to get into Alpha 2 (Not Pre-Alpha or Alpha 1), but that time has not been announced yet, or their prices.
  3. Not having played during the ATV test due to outside circumstances, I'm gonna 100% be up in time for the next test.
  4. How best to spend your time now? As Stoat said, you could join an organization! They're good to be in because they'll keep you interested in the game, and you'll be able to hear their Pre-Alpha stories (Once the NDA lifts, of course). I know I'm trying to keep my members interested. (And we're recruiting!) If you wanna practice ship design, There's other games with voxel building, though I can't name them, lol. If you just want a quick, free modeller, MagicaVoxel could work. Lua scripting, you could search for Lua tutorials, I'm sure there's something out there you could practice with. I'm 100% sure they won't make any sort of singleplayer mode. Because that's a whole other thing they'd have to program, it'd take time away from the actual game, and it's not what DU's about. But anyways, welcome to DU! It's gonna be great.
  5. In the videos, they are holding that much because they are in "God mode", a infinite flying, creative inventory mode. As for storing, I don't think you literally dump a ton of, say, iron, onto the floor, but you do need to put it in cargo containers that would take up as much space as the iron would. I'm not sure about that though, I may have misinterpreted it.
  6. Ships stay in Space I believe, you disappear. If you don't want your ship to be attacked, park it in the safe zone, or under a shield, or with other nerds.
  7. So, ships'll be hard to build? That's fine by me. Means I'll get some laughs as I try to take off... And crash into a mountain because I accidentally put a thruster somewhere I shouldn't have. Normally, when I mess things up, it leads to a laugh, which I don't mind. I'm sure we'll be able to figure out how to escape orbit.
  8. Yeah, we don't really know exactly what's included in the RDMS at this point. Heck, it could already be in there, this functionality. But if it isn't, yeah, eventually we'll need this. I can see that happening.
  9. I might be a little late to the party with this, but while you're browsing, maybe you can browse about my org, The Freelancers! We're a (really small)(looking to be slightly small) mercenary organization, renting out our services for all activities, respectable and... questionable. We have a discord, no teamspeak, and I like to think I'm pretty funny. our community page Even if you don't wanna join, welcome to Dual Universe!
  10. I'm not for censoring, but I'd prefer if I didn't have to see any boobs or dicks when I visit the arkship. If I wanted that I'd either look down or go Google.
  11. My guess: You can definitely "suck up some dirt" and place it in or on a construct, thus "having mobile terrain". Now, will you be able to make grass grow on it? Who knows?
  12. How about we go all in with the Imperial system? All the way down to "Twips": 16,999,000,000,000 Twips/second for the speed of light.
  13. See Yama, you can be the guy that says "Yeah I've followed them for a while (sometimes literally) and they are great at replying and being open with their development! I'm totally not a paid shill!" Maybe remove the last bit.
  14. True on the PR bit, I just like to help. As for the "Prove a point" point, I would not say it's an inaccuracy. While the rings don't specifically give you a velocity, it helps you to gauge it because as the ship speeds up, so did the frequency of the rings passing by. That is until the ship reached a certain speed, at which the rings spaced out. But they still continued to pass by faster as the ship went faster.
  15. If people ask what they are, be a good community member and tell them. I know I did on one youtube vid. "The Rings show velocity in space, as well as the direction of your flight. They can be turned off if you wish." Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V. Maybe link the video up there that explains what they are. Helps to show that we care about being polite and welcoming to new people.
  16. I highly doubt one would be able to successfully use Steam power to fly a spaceship. Even if it could produce enough power, it would probably require a huge amount of space and maintenance, making it not worth it.
  17. Here's an idea. Crazy idea, but it might work. @AidenAiden, @yamamushi, @Comrademoco Why don't both subs delete themselves, and together make a new sub. Get some third party (Still known, but mostly un-involved/neutral with the conflict) to create it, and be "head-mod". Then, r/dualuniverse mods and r/dualthegame mods can be mods, and we put this whole thing behind us. Of course, this is a crazy idea. Probably a last resort. But it would solve the problem.
  18. No, it wasn't. Yes, newsletters do typically come out at the same time as the Dev-diaries.
  19. If you wanna know what LUA is, go google LUA. It'll be a much better explanation than waiting for someone to summarize it here for you. But yes, It's code. Actual code.
  20. As far as I know, the different sizes of the core unit denote how big the structure can be. I don't remember if any specifics were given as to how big, but I'd imagine the small one would be for fighters/outposts, the medium for ????/small bases, and the large for stations and huge land bases.
  21. My guess would be because the image needs to have a file extension of .jpg, or .PNG. What you've tried to do is share the link to the file, but shared the link to it's folder instead. Does that make sense? Probably not. Also when I click on it, it gives me a 403 error. "Not allowed to view"
  22. I would say the difference between a bounty hunter and a hired assassin would be the level of knowledge each has of both the bounty, and the person putting the bounty out there. IE: Bounty Hunter = person who browses the list of public bounties, picks one, goes and kills, collects. Hired Assassin = Person who is contacted directly by another person (or org) to kill/steal someone/something specific. Probably does not use the "official" bounty system, instead more of a "Pay me 10k now, and 40k when I kill him".
  23. Not knowing who you're hunting would be... interesting, if a bounty hunter was supposed to hunt another bounty hunter. Or if said bounty hunter ended up hunting somebody in their own org who they know who's been a little trigger-happy recently.
  24. No, they didn't. Eve Online's galaxy map is 3D. Is something like that what you want?
