NQ Finally figured out quests.....  You got 30 days to dismantle 200 cores you built over 2 years or we will auto-abandon them for you....

You keep shifting the goal posts on talents by adding more talents required to do simple things like mine efficiently using MU's and own cores yet you keep the talents accrued to a ridiculously low amount of 90 p/m. I don't expect to get 1000's of points per minute and I certainly don't expect to train all talents however you're constant changes is making it extremely difficult to become proficient in anything, especially industry which has an absurd number of talents to train

If you're going to implement this then you really need to fix the rubbish situation where players need to use a core just to put down some flooring to connect constructs.

My base has 8 constructs yet I need to use 10 additional cores just so I can have flooring to walk nicely between those 8 constructs. This is insane. You shouldn't need to use cores to place flooring. Flooring should be free on a territory

My biggest concern is this.  As a creative ship designer. People buy my ships because of aesthetics. I know this. I have people who collect my ships. My ship sales and income in game will dry up quickly. This is going to tank my income. And because of the large amount of cores being taken down its going to tank the element market. So the other system I was setting up for income will also tank. I was building a factory to produce ship parts.

Then I have the Castle on Alioth and the city on Thades. I will have to choose which one to keep. I am most likely going to close the castle on Alioth.

Just logged in to give feedback because NQ claims that this is the way to give feedback, I call BS on that, but here goes:

You can get 16 max personal cores at the cost of almost 5 million talent points. => ~5 weeks of training.
You can get 25 max corp cores at the cost of how many millions of talent points?

You want more? Buy more accounts.

How, after the way automining, territory, and autominers work. As in every territory requires a core per territory (we can deploy a core across multiple tiles, but only mines on one). Is these few cores a good idea? Especially with the recent changes to automining 56 autominers is optimal, when mining T2 on an outer planet that means 2 miners per tile or 28 cores spent on automining! That leaves maybe 13 cores for space bases, home bases and ships.

Please consider either raising the amount of cores OR create a separate mining core that doesn't count towards the max core count. I feel as if NQ is creating separate changes without looking at the interaction with other changes that have been and will be made in the future. The last year has felt like NQ taking stuff away instead of introducing new stuff. Even the implementation of autominers cost us the planet mining. There is only so much of this stuff we'll suffer before throwing in the ring.

I currently have four accounts, prepaid for 1+ year per account, so no takebacksies on that, but if the current trend continues like this I won't be renewing. At this rate i won't be playing the entire year even. Please keep in mind, it's not just this patch, it's an accumulation of imposed limitations, this one is just the one that broke the camels back.

If these are management decisions, NQ employees need to fight management to keep this an attractive game for as many as possible, not just for our enjoyment of the DU game, but for their own job security. People playing means active subscriptions, subscriptions means money to keep the lights on an keep cat food in the pantry...

@NQ if the new proposed changes are going to require me to delete or abandon over 200 cores, can you please implement a way to disassemble cores without having to remove all the voxel and elements manually. I think we would all appreciate this greatly.

This is another terrible update, at least the last one gave back a small amount, this one takes away again.

It's almost like you want your game to fail.

Stacking elements was a solution to the under powered engines you provide. People don't want to have to make engine walls but you leave us no choice, no one can make sleek ships because of your poor statistics choices.

There's nothing wrong with the cone game when I play it. You're probably misunderstanding that it searches the radius highlighted when you select the tool. Not the entire hex. So it's actually like the worst tool to use imo. It just vaguely points in the direction of the highest ore concentration in the highlighted area...

The fact that Industry can run on offline hexes is a saving grace for many people and new players. You no longer have to mine in order to produce stuff - Good.
    Less Calibrating - Also Good.
Higher Numbers of Charges to allow for more casual miners - also a good change.
    Animation speed up - good.
    Less Tax - Sure.
Trying to remedy boring harvesting of rocks? - I'll wait for news on this one.
Talents for harvesting - actually more important now that Demeter is a thing.

I'm happy. I'm sure many people are also pleased with this. Well done NQ.

As a relatively new player (4 weeks) I'm already finding it extremely difficult to make enough Quanta do do/buy anything. Adding an additional 1m to my outgoings every week for every tile I'd like to purchase/mine is ridiculous. This on top of an initial 500,000 per tile basically makes it impossible for me to get anywhere or do anything in the game. I don't want to play a game where all I do is missions and sell ore so I can pay taxes.

BTW, if I don't have enough Quanta to buy/build mining units how will I ever get to a position where I can extract enough ore to pay my taxes? You need Quanta to buy/make units but need units to make Quanta.  And I guess there'll be another 30 or so Talents that take months to get just so I can use the mining units (or use them efficiently). Thinking it may be time to cancel my 12 month subscription.

Keep in mind that the mining mini game will result in a small amount of minerals that can be picked up on the surface that will give you a little mineral bump.  If done properly it could result in enough coin to be at least 1/4 of the fee for your tile.   At least that's what I experienced during my testing.   Obviously all depends on price of minerals.

A small mining unit can be crafted in your nano from surface harvest-able materials. You can run multiple of those to bootstrap your mining operation. You can run around an harvest surface ores from any unclaimed territory.

I think basic large mining units will only end up costing no more than $500k quanta; so the daily monies alone will give people the opportunity to bootstrap a larger operation quickly.

I think something we're all going to need to adjust to is that "being a land owner" is not a given outside of sanctuary anymore. I honestly hope this makes sanctuary useful. As an early player that saw sanctuary put in at the last minute, I was completely confused why a safe zone was _also_ added. The point was sanctuary was safe, everything else was not. Because of the safe zone, no one had a reason to stay in sanctuary. Now there will be pressures that make sanctuary useful.

That is all well and fine, except for one minor detail.
DU is a voxel building MMO. And with the TAX there is absolutely no incentive any longer to spend time building, except for on 5 HQ tiles for the entire universe.

1,000,000 quantas a tile?!! A Week?!! Right. Not all of us live in Mommy and Daddy's basement playing DU for ever, we have jobs and like coming back home to our families and then getting on DU for some building and shooting. Not logging in to pay taxes or moving ore to pay taxes. I do that a plenty in real life thanks. I am aware that its necessary for a tile tax but that is nuts. In the DevBlog they said that a million a month was getting poor reviews from the player base, and now they take it one step in the wrong direction. Mine to pay taxes, pay taxes to mine. HQ tiles were to be TAX FREE, NON-TAXABLE, TAX SHELTERS to give players an offset from the tax issues. Why have the DevBlog and a Q&A video if they aren't gonna stick by what they said. This is infuriating.

I'd love to see how you came up with 1,000,000 a week in taxes.  I honestly feel like this is way to high, it is to much for smaller and more casual players.  This makes me much less excited about Demeter.  I get why you need a decay system, makes perfect sense, and I agree with it, but 1 million a week is just to steep.

So in order to loot the territory, we'll have to pay a bribe of 500 000 moneys to the mob boss that is Aphellia, just to get the privilege of submitting a loot request paperwork in the central bureaucracy office, which starts a 2 week court proceedings during which the constructs in question can be reclaimed by their neglecting owner, thus giving us "the finger" gesture.

I suggest that we make this even more interesting, by making it mandatory for the looter to validate his request every hour during those two weeks by pushing the button "yes, I am sure", while optionally adding additional money gift to Aphellia to keep her mood up.
The Aphellia mood will be determined by a complex formula involving time and money submitted, which will finally be evaluated after two weeks. To get the mood results, looter should fly over (not VR) to a random point in space (PVP zone, of course) to obtain a scan of an asteroid. Then he should return the scan to Market 6, after which he will get the mood results.
The mood results can finally be delivered to the court located at the Ark ship, along with 100 kt of gold nuggets as a sacrifice to the gods.

I've been offline for a while and moved to another planet due to all the Org players quitting the game.  I want to come back but was waiting for a lot of the issues to be addressed and improvements to be implemented.  Am I right in thinking then that that actual weeks of work mining and constructing these bases on territories will firstly empty my bank account with tax then make all my buildings and equipment available for looting?

This is the first thing about this game that has truly put me off coming back if I lose all the hard work and innovation I put into this game.  I have stored 1000's of voxels ready to come back and complete a range of ships and buildings semi complete.

If this tax system is limited to Orgs then fine, but if you are forcing players to play your game or lose everything then this isn't a tactic I'm comfortable with.

Been on PTS now for 15 hours testing while collecting my thoughts. A lot of these changes will force players to /work/ to keep what they own in game... right now with rough calculations it looks like about /half/ of the ore dug may have to go back to paying taxes on the tiles, and thus players will need to work... to keep their land... to keep working to keep their land.

I say work, because these new loops, for many- will turn it into active work/tedium to manage. Plus, potentially half of your ore income is spent on the hexes... now you'll need to take a cut for fuel to transport/logistics. After the end of it, you're left with very little to build/expand with. For new players, it will be muuuuch harder to solo while getting a foot-hold.

So I ask, is this a move to slow players down and reduce overall server costs? As it stands this a soft-wipe of sorts, as many with "fun" projects people work on a few hours a week may now be forced into grinding to keep it going- or loose it... and if players don't come back, as it stands... you loose a tile, as it is on PTS... you also loose all the static constructs owned on that tile.

So is this a change to reduce quanta/inflation? if so than look at the source, missions-alt runners to curb it vs creating a huge sink via land. Is this change for... data inflation? as more ore enters the game, more constructs are made- and in live(more data due to tunnels on top of that)  so more ore = data costs.  And I dare say this is the real reason for these changes, otherwise NQ will let up on them as player outrage seams to be more so than 0.23, and it hasn't fully sunk in yet for most players what these changes even mean... and while this post covers some core issues, it does not cover the ninja-changes to ship elements/flight mechanics or other core complaints.

Give us more ore via auto-mining - more charges, more ore to pull from per hex and... some way to skip the lame mini game.. please? minimum efficiency of 25% vs 0? Nobody wants to login once/twice a day to hop around auto-mining fields to play a stupid mini game. Least while mining traditionally I can tune out and watch Netflix, with autominers- it requires just enough attention you cant let your mind easily wander... but not enough satisfaction to make it.... enjoyable. 2x more ore may not be enough, 3-4x may hit a sweet spot for most. More Roids - All safe zone roids get mined out within an hour of discovery already. fix discovery timer of 20 minutes/middle Colum! Likewise, PTS seemingly won't spawn in asteroids in time for us to check the new spawn rates.... This change will /encourage/ more people into PVP space. Lower the taxes for tiles. This is a game that people pay monthly for- not a second job.
      So say we all.
