Who are we?
The Terran Union Strike Command is the men and women dedicated to fighting for the Terran Union. Our job is simple, to Pave the way. 
 
TUSC is the dedicated shock troopers of the TU, hailing from all around the globe we aim to give everything our all and not give up. We are the front lines of the Terran Union Military, making first contact on assaults. The TUSC is tasked with clearing out any obstacles that may hinder the advance of the military, this may involve anything, from clearing out orbital defence stations to neutralising anti air or anti tank emplacements.


Why TUSC?
We need men and women not only willing to work together, but to give their lives together. Ever wanted to be the part of the first wave? Dropping in from high orbit and clearing the way for your fellow soldiers? Fighting side by side with you brothers and sisters in arms.
 
By joining TUSC, and therefore the Terran Union, you'll gain all the benefits that a citizen of the TU will gain (Link to the TU page is at the top of reference). We offer a close-knit group of friends looking forward to working together and helping each other. In down times we'll be kicking back chatting and mucking around with each other. During Operations we will have a more serious tone, focused on winning and completing our task. 

We currently looking for 41 shock troopers to join TUSC.
The Troopers are the front line of the Terran Union and the backbone of the TUSC. These men and women are the ones to go head first into combat, risking their lives in dangerous situations to begin the first assault. We are looking for men and women willing to fight alongside and cooperate with others, we will not tolerate lone wolves, those who believe they do not need anyone else. Teamwork and coordination will play a key part in the success of our operations. 


We are also looking for 6 engineers to manage the TUS Invictus.
These engineers are going to play a key role within TUSC. Headed by Owe, the engineers will manage everything aboard the cruiser. From repairing and rebuilding the drop pods and drop ships to piloting the Invictus herself, the engineers will be a hard working, dedicated group. Engineers will not be stuck in one role, but will be able to fluidly move around the ship, helping where needed. While the troopers are on mission, the Invictus will be running a skeleton crew, which is where the teamwork and dedication will pay off.

While within TUSC your are not simply restricted to your role. In our down times you are free to do what ever you want, wether it be coding, building or mucking around. But make sure you're ready! When DU comes out we will have organised training sessions but untill then I'm happy to organise game nights so we can get to know each other.
 
Requirements
-Have a mic and is willing to use it. 
-Speak English.
-Be of 16 years or older.
--Although we would prefer members to be 16 or older, anyone younger can still apply. Applications will take longer and we will need to       see if you are mature    enough to sign aboard.
-Willing and able to act mature when we need it.
The members of TUSC are projected to have the highest mortality rate within the TU, but do not let that throw you off, we will reap in the glory from our position and know that we are fighting the hardest.

I was thinking about this, although not turning a planet into a ship but if we can manipulate planets and their orbit (I assume/hope they'll have orbits). For instance you could stick a mectic butt ton of thursters onto a moon and fly it into the planet. That would be fun to see.

The Terran Union has now hit 120 members and is the largest organisation within Dual Universe as of this moment. Woooo!

Purpose: Cinderfall's Directive
 
Simply put, Cinderfall exists to maximize its members’ ability to enjoy Dual Universe.
 
The Cinderfall Syndicate is an organization established to provide an international identity and means of cooperation between both individuals and organizations. It is not a typical corporation, nation, or alliance. Rather, the Syndicate is the manifestation of a mutually beneficial agreement between people and organisations that certain basic laws need to exist in order for all of our members to enjoy life in the universe, as they did in the Golden Age of Earth.
 
Perhaps parallels can be drawn between Cinderfall and the United Nations, but we extend far beyond the scope of a simple coalition. Cinderfall vows to rebuild civilization not through the eyes of a corrupt bureaucracy, but in the way humanity as a whole would have intended: to a universe of balance and harmony.

So. Here I am.
 
Basics: Australian. Life long gamer. Digital native and netizen.
 
Unlike a lot of you cool kids, I'm not a C# programmer, can't do 3D models, and I'm only slowly learning LUA (by which I mean it's on my to-do list).
 
And I've never played EVE, Star Citizen or any of other other titles that seem to give cred (does Stellaris, No Mans Sky or Rebel Galaxy count?). I did play SW:Galaxies back in the day tho.
 
So. What do I bring to this little party? (since intro threads seem to be as much about introductions as they are a sort of "recruit me" post or NQ resume - yeah - who knows - maybe it'll pique their interest.) Not a lot really in my mind - I'm just some guy - the stuff below should give an indication why I try not to mix social and professional life. (But hey - NQ, if you're reading - I'm happy to do both for the right peep ).
 
Professional skills:
Architecture, implementation etc of High Availability / High Performance online solutions Big data | Linked Data | Open Data | Semantic Web International Standards on data exchange, web standards, technical standards (ISO, W3C etc) Information Architecture, Concept Modelling etc inc. knowledge management IT Security, encryption, blockchain etc Cloud, Distributed applications (blockchain, P2P or traditional federation) Identity and Access | Privacy Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, Deep Learning etc World Design / Game Design User experience / UI / machine to machine service design/ API design inc. patterns Social media / online community engagement and management Bunch of other things most people find really boring but are the foundation of stuff like MMO's (e.g. everything from time synchronization through to GIS systems) Behavioral and organisation psychology | social engineering etc  
Currently working in the Public Sector, sometimes an invited expert to various W3C/Internet/Government fora, presented to people like the OECD and various Central Banks/Statistical Organisations on developing for 0-scale architecture (cloud etc.), Programme committee member for International industry conferences, that sort of stuff.
 
Completely self taught , never been to University - I'm just a guy who's apparently OK at what I do.
 
Oh - and I've worked on a few "major" games over the years (in terms of size or brand) writing story lines / world backgrounds / inventing game mechanics etc or managing large communities inc. admin run game events and story arcs - never paid - I just love making and playing games, especially grand strategy, sandbox and RPG's.

Hello everyone, reinforcing some points here.
 
I'm looking for people who will be interested in filling leadership roles within the Cinderfall Syndicate. The Syndicate is more than a guild, its more than an alliance of guilds, we are providing the single largest international collective of major organisations, but now Astrophil and I need some help to keep things operating smoothly.
 
Namely I am looking for players who would like to be a part of this massive effort. In order to achieve this I'm looking towards the players in cinderfall operating a bit like Jedi.
I need you to have a focus on maintaining balance in a universe that so often tips to one side or the other. Embrace the light and the dark, the everything and the nothing.
 
We're looking for Magistrate Council members, the uppermost level leaders, you must be very wise and very leadership oriented. We'll need help planning and running cinderfall and other organisations that benefit us. A Major leader position equivalent to that of a guild leader, but remember modesty, harmony, balance, you must be able to work well with Astro and I and be a good person.
 
'Marshals' a vague term for now, well need some people beneath the Council to help administrate tasks, these people might be sorts of Admirals / Generals or so forth.
 
'Lieutenants' a vague term for now, the support officers for the 'Marshals'.
 
Masters, the various players who have excelled in varied fields of gameplay. If you prove you can be respectful and adhere to the rules of Cinderfall you can achieve this rank, invite new players in, mentor new or existing players.
 
We have many other roles open as well. I operate Walküren-Lün, a manufacturing operation that we will staff with cinderfall members, TU citizens, and possibly a few CSYN member orgs citizens will be able to help.
 
The JSDF (Joint Syndicate Defence Force) We have engineering and military operations that will have pop up positions from time to time as tasks dictate.
 
Really we have it all, its so difficult to focus on one specific area because of the scope of the international efforts. Come help be apart of the premier civilized organisation, the Cinderfall Syndicate.

Its all good, you want free to play? Ok Im out, no money from me. I've been waiting for years for a game worth playing that embraces a return to the subscription.
 
If all the free to play games out there were so great why arent we off playing them right now? Why dont you have any memorable friends or have any love for playing those games? Why did you in the end abandon them and go banging the war dums asking for more free stuff somewhere else?
 
Is it possible those developers dont listen to their community, they dont develop actual game content, the people youre playing with have no money and no integrity. Not only are the spineless creeps but they lack coordination to push buttons on their keyboards and cant complete basic dungeons as a group. Well thats ok, they devs will just let you all swipe that credit card to get over the difficult stuff.
 
No wait everyone. I think instead of using the single shard technology that JC and Devs developed over the past few years isnt what we should do at ALL!
Lets make it like second life, well make private people run their own servers. The cost to licence the software from NQ will be set at $10,000 dollars a year.
Now youll also need a cloud capable server from a major provider, that wont be cheap looks like it costs about $1,200 dollars a month for a basic setup.
$24,400 a year to run your own private piece of the single shard dual universe game! HELL YEA FREE TO PLAY!
 
Now maybe you didnt want to setup your own slice of life and will just bum off of NQ's free space and make them handle all your character data.
 
So now you can log into the game, yep didnt have to buy a boxed copy! SO FREE!
Next up, if you want to wear anything other than the basic starter clothes. its 15$ for a shirt, 15$ for pants, 10$ for shoes, 5$ for hats, gloves, and other accessories.
so about 60-70$ to deck your character out with clothing.
You can make a second character, but to unlock a second character slot that will be 25$ per
 
All right, by golly, you got into the game, and you aren't totally naked anymore. I mean, you weren't forced to pay but you did anyway. so you spent 60$ in the cash shop in month one. but you arent done yet.
To leave Alioth youll have to pay $35 to instantly learn rocketry$ or You can pay 15$ to unlock a tech tree that trains over time but that will take 5 months to train, sorry the learning speed is reduced for players that dont pay a subscription.
 
So you think. hmm do i want to pay 35$ or wait 5 months and get griefed on Alioth and quit the game?

Month 1 expenditure. 95$, but its ok, its ok, nobody FORCED you to pay this.

If you want to mine in the equivalent of Detroit at night and in space, you are out of luck.

If you want to mine in a region that your faction doesn't police, you are out of luck.

If you want to mine in a faction's main moon of exporting minerals and you are not a member of that faction, you ASKED for it, you are stealing from them and they should drop every rocket they can on your ship.

You and your friends should realise this is not Second Life in Space. You go for mining, better set up duties for each other

One guy runs the mining ship, four others are bodyguards on their ships. That's how it's done in sandbox games. Also, if you are not PvPers or, more likely, Second Life players, you may want to mine in asteroid rings in systems your faction polices frequently and they can guard you in a moment's notice if someojne goes to troll you.

You can't have a sandbox MMORPG and then ask for no interaction. 

If there are no griefers, then mercenaries paid to protect you have no jobs.

I'm just curious to know how long the community things it will take until one of us die. Answer the poll and post below any other ways you can think of them dying and who it might be.

Hello all! I'm Dark and I've been recently appointed as CSYN's Prime Ambassador. My goal is to benefit the Cinderfall Syndicate through diplomatic routes, creating alliances, trade agreements and even war. I'll be working behind the scenes and advancing our cause.

Yep, we're in quite a lot of games. Our main games though are Planetside 2, Arma 3 and SUPCOM FA

The goal of HMMR, once CSYN is stable, is to conquer oursleves a system to set up our main Operating Base and defences.

Given the recent discussions on the forums surround the organization known as COPS, I would like to once again reaffirm that members of COPS, self-proclaimed pirates though they may be, are nevertheless entitled to certain rights just as the rest of the community is.
 
The right to form one's own organization, and the right to join an organization which one may find interesting, are given privileges that should not be subject to attempted sabotage or other malicious tactics, merely because that organization or individual's ideology is disagreeable to some. If said entity were to intentionally detract from another entity's ability to enjoy the community and Dual Universe, then counteractive measures are entirely justified. However, ridiculing or committing hate crimes based merely on disagreeable ideals is under nearly all circumstances improper and toxic.
 
With that said, Cinderfall (collectively) is not one to tolerate such noxious behavior directed toward any party in the community. As such, while we would be overstepping ourselves with a complete endorsement of the Coalition, we do extend a feather of support to COPS concerning this matter, and discourage any further hating on COPS or its members.
