There is currently no way to alter how a 3D model is rendered inside the game client apart from the basic transformations listed in the right click menu of the projector element. If you are having a hard time seeing your model then it could be related to how the mesh is defined. If you are using blender then perhaps try to perform some preprocessing like what is described in this tutorial or try prepping it with this plugin. Alternatively, could you provide screenshots from both your 3d modeling software and in-game. Seeing that comparison could help us better understand the problem you are facing.

Very welcome, It's promising to see the things players value returned back to the way they're needed. I believe if someone is found to be misusing such help they should be banned and that should be made very clear from NQ. Examples of this would be having a ship teleported outside the pvp zone and things like that.

As we learned at the start of beta if people are able to abuse without fear of punishment they will do it and it was very bad. I know staff started looking into situations towards the end and I strongly encourage this approach to helping once again.

Thanks for the chance to voice my opinions.
It is great to perfect the game. Kudos for that.
After starting at the very beginning, it is time to increase the travel and exploration of the game.
For a number or years now I have traveled to every planet and moons dozens of times. I have made and traded millions of Quanta of products.
I have mined until I cannot mine any more, designed ships, and now tend to leave the game for days at a time.
I believe it is time for DU to give us something new:-  a new planet, asteroid mining, something to explore, a new solar system with all your new perfections there and not in the current one. Please - something- anything!!!!!
I really enjoy the game but it is currently THE MOST BORING GAME compared to Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, No Man's Sky and relevant games.
I think it is time to keep your long termers interested and give us Hamsters something new to feed on!

In order to save DU we need a leader
and who is better than Lord Chancellor TMA
Lets decide if Lord Chancellor TMA should be the supreme leader of all DU by voting on the hot tub stream

Is NQ planning on adding NPCs to DU?
I'm not here to debate. My friends and I just want a clear answer, in order to decide whether or not we want to keep supporting this game. We no longer want to support a game that's promising 100% player driven world. We fell for it before with other games which promised the exact same thing, and frankly, we're certain that it'll never work. So again, is NQ planning on adding NPCs.
Note: I'm NOT saying that NQ shouldn't stay true to their original vision, I am just saying that if they are, I personally don't want to give them my money.

This is probably one of the, if not he top issue voiced around here.

Unfortunately NQ is dead silent on this and has not shown any interest in addressing the issue beyond silly changes like making the available surface area bigger which only led to more junk being spread in a wider area. Not that we told them this would happen...

I have suggested NPCs a few times in a few posts. But I always get the responses from players "NPCs will NEVER be a thing".

Well maybe it should be do to the growing number of bored PVP players.

I'm not sure why this was not posted in the relevant thread but I digress.

Your fist point I would not agree with. We've already seen a number of mechanics be very different from what NQ set out in their initial vision and frankly I expect may more of that to happen. A big reason for the game being in the state it is has been that the vision has taken precedence over common sense and (technical) abilities. The change in leadership I certainly hope and really expect will change that, provided that the company survives, to a situation where the vision is what is the guideline but the reality of what is achievable and/or possible will determine to what extent the vision is left as-is or amended.

I agree that having NPCs in space that you may  encounter at random is not a good plan, in fact while you mention EVE, it is very clear there that while some NPCs are pretty docile, if they are not they mostly are deadly and very tough to fight. I think that the idea of having an equivalent of EVE combat sites however would be a good idea.. just like the data and relic sites. Much of the "top level" mechanics in DU, such as schematics, should have a feeder to allow players to control the availability and application of these and that would normally be sites like that. DU seems to be looking to introduce something like this with Asteroids but plan to use their "events" mechanic for this and pretty much expose you once you find such a site opening up an effortless risk of getting attacked.

And if NQ ever introduces NPCs into the combat mechanics I'd agree the rewards of taking them on will need to be worth it. And frankly in the general way the game is currently set up as far as introduction and distribution of items (with market value) is very shallow and not even close to suitable for this.

I am aware that you have to level the game in terms of income and expenses, but you should not calculate the costs as less than they actually are or will be. Wages will steadily rise, as will various expenses. Means you should always build up a buffer in between to bridge certain periods of time.
As far as the player base is concerned, Dual Universe is a very special game, one must not forget that it does not offer the "normal content" that many players are used to from other games and would therefore keep them busy as long-term content. (Dungeons, Raids, Arena, Quests, Achievement System, Pets and Mounts, etc.) Means you have to or should be careful with assuming how many players will really have a lasting interest in the end.
I've been playing for a few months now and I have a lot of fun building something up. What is less fun are the hour-long ore tours through tunnel systems, only to be able to continue building. Likewise, I have NO interest in PvP content myself and would be immediately out of the game if this were to become mandatory.
Still, I miss other ways to be able to build more. But what would the game offer me in 1-2-3 years, if I had built everything possible? At some point the construct limitations limit me. Then there is only mining, mining, ..... you won't get me into PvP, the real world already has enough wars, I don't need them as game content and will therefore always stay in the safe zone.

    Gloves off, knives out....

The 'vision' you speak of... can we get something explaining precisely what the vision is? I don't want to be an activist on the issue. But a player driven economy and a few vague points is not a vision... it is a blur. I would like to see, myself, what the endgame goal is as far as this vision is concerned.

I am happy to see something to the effect of NQ stating some behind the scenes information. Information that is relevant as to why things are the way the way they are. I would assume that the optimization will take place before the upgrade in hardware would hit the table as an option. But it is pleasant that information is being put forth. Something that should be the norm... clear concise communication without vagueness or generalizations to make it sound any better than it is. This is as close to that as I have seen in a long time.

On this 'vision'... I should have drowned numerous times now. Starved to death a few thousand times over. Been pancaked, burnt to a crisp, asphyxiated, decapitated, rag-dolled, poisoned, crushed, electrocuted... Are any of these part of the 'vision'? I mean, I am aware that they can make a meat substitute out of sewage... but the realism is... we don't have any of that survival element so far. I want to see some skill based killing based on something other than computational or statistical RNG.

On the issue with performance... derelicts which are not abandoned and littering the landscape, the airspace, the lakes and oceans, and space itself... it needs addressed. Not talked about, not a balance of aesthetics and performance, but addressed. I do not find it aesthetically pleasing to walk around a District Hub or a Marketplace in game seeing ships smoking from damage, seeing ships belly-up, nose-up, arse-up, or in any other sense than what they should be. This includes sitting on top of one another. We, as players, cannot fix this.

There should be some attention shown to these AGG towers stretching into the sky as well. Indestructible... razor thin frames capable of withstanding an impact from the Deathstar at lightspeed it seems.

I digress... I am happy that the truth is being put forth on the technical end. I want to know what this 'vision' is precisely. I would like to see some realism added to the game itself. And, I want to see an information flow that is honest, reliable, and responsive. On player suggestions, there have been a a large number of suggestions. They may be more tailored to the 'vision' if we knew precisely what that was....

There is nothing wrong with being critical but I agree that that should come with a constructive angle. And while I agree to that I also know that I am guilty of not always following that in each comment or post but at the same time I believe it's there often enough for others to understand it is there. Not meaning to imply you were referencing me here, just trying to make a point..

I also believe that expecting or driving people to only speak up when they have positive/nice things to say, means you try to create the illusion that it's all good when it's really not while you are well aware of this. (again, it's a marketing/PR ploy)

So, as the "resident critic", needless to say I do wholeheartedly disagree with this. I see nothing wrong with holding NQ accountable for their mistakes, especially when they show no signs of willingness to take ownership of these on their own. There is some good things in these blogposts but it's mostly between the lines. Overall it's just a marketing and PR exercise and anyone with even the slightest understanding of that will see this. The proof, as they say, will be in the pudding in this regard.

Doing updates is fine but we need CONTENT like asap. We need new solar systems places to explore etc a actual working market without Ore bots etc, working mission system, NPC's to fight etc the list goes on. On most days you can go into the discord and listen to conversation happening in the voice chats about the state of the game whats missing etc and we all have different opinions but the game in general is missing so much that it is hard to see the game finished. There is so many problems that we currently face along with WE NEED A WIPE as ore bots that keep getting reset has destroyed everything.

Elusive_Voltis reacted to NQ-Nyzaltar in Player Recruitment & Advertisement: dos and don'ts
    I) About Dual Universe (and/or a DU Organization) Advertisement

    (a) It's fine to advertise the game and/or your DU Organization(s) to players you already know or with whom you have already played with in other games without harassing them. If they aren't interested, do not insist.

    (b) It's absolutely not acceptable to enter other gaming communities with the only intent being to randomly advertise Dual Universe or your DU Organization to players you don't know. Being polite isn't enough. Participating in said group with the intention to legitimize your advertisement is not enough either. You won't fool many people with this method. While one player may be convinced to join your Organization, it will most likely antagonize significantly more players, making them hostile toward you and Dual Universe due to these cheap and inappropriate practices.

If you don't understand why this is wrong, just imagine players coming from 10 different game communities and invading your Discord, subReddit, or Steam group, falsely pretending to be interested in the game you’re playing while instead being there to make advertisements for the game he plays in your channels. Any person would quickly be tired of this behavior and ban them all, as well as form a negative image of the game that has been advertised. Please don’t do this.  Not only is this rude, this can be considered harassment in addition to brand damage, which could result in a ban from Dual Universe for such behavior.

    (c) While it didn’t seem clear for everyone so far (despite being in our EULA and in our forum chart here), here is a strong reminder: impersonating Novaquark staff is a serious offense. This will result in a permanent ban without further notice or discussion. There is also no limitation period for this offense (meaning: if we got proof of Novaquark staff impersonation several months or even years later, the sanction will still be applied).

    (d) While this has been some kind of grey area until now, there won’t be sanctions applied to involved Organizations for the past actions. However, from now on, Organizations that will benefit from the aforementioned bad practices could see their member list reset at Novaquark’s sole discretion. We wish to make it clear that there is nothing to gain from such advertisement and recruitment practices as well as inform other gaming communities that the Novaquark staff will not tolerate these methods of advertisement and recruitment.

II) About Gifting Practices as a Recruitment Incentive

Novaquark has not enforced any strict rules regarding gifting practices so you are free to gift DACs or Supporter Packs as you see fit. However, we don’t encourage use of this freedom as a recruitment incentive unless you are perfectly fine with the definition of "gifting" (giving something for free to someone else without expecting anything in return for this gift).

Before gifting a DAC or a Supporter Pack, you should carefully consider that a player could leave your Organization or simply never join it at all. In this situation, this will be your responsibility and we will not refund nor reverse the gift you made to another player. The Novaquark team will not step in to oblige the receiver to fulfill his part of the bargain either (if there was any).

    So choose and gift wisely.

If you have any further questions on the topic, please let us know.

    Best Regards,
    The Community team.
