Stig92 got a reaction from AlexCout in July 2017 Devdiary
I'm disappointed in this community. There have already been at least 2 threads about people hoping for censorship and pretty much first thing people think about after seeing screens introduced is how to censor what other people put on them. If it is a screen then it is something located in certain place in the world that you can see if you are there. If you see something you take offence to in someone else's construct you can either ignore it or go somewhere else. If you are building as a group/organisation then the group can have internal rules on what to have in the common construct and outsiders have the previous 2 options.
I swear with some of the people here I might just have to build the nazi moonbase from Iron Sky (image from the movie through google)
just to trigger the easily offended who think other's should be controlled by their personal feelings. I don't care about your NSFWs (that I had to google). Unless you work for Novaquark or plan to run youtube channel on DU, Dual Universe is not your work (Not Safe For Work) and I don't have a wife (Not Safe For Wife) +If you have one, its not something that should affect anyone else.
You'll have my support if someone puts up irl threat/direct incitement of violence/crime, reveals personal information or spread false information about a person. If you try to censor beyond that I'm 99% likely against you.
Would also safe NQ's time and resources to not control what people do and let people deal with disagreements and make rules between/inside organisations in-game.
Damn I think this is my third rant on this subject.

I pray to the magic teapot in the sky that you are right. As for "largest extent", I assume that means french law and if it becomes a problem it would be better to move the servers somewhere else.

From everything that I have heard of they aren't going to "create" or "add" systems or stargates. The world in proceduraly generated and to get new systems players have to go explore and discover them. Expansion of the world would depend on how much players go out there. To get stargates for those players have to build the gates themselves. They don't just exists like in eve for example. I'm actually hoping to have/be part of an organisation that builds and controls gates in multiple systems and cashes in by charging people for travel.

Just imagine all the things that happen when the game actually begins, let alone years after that.

Dual Universe State of Affairs
This is a quick overview of some of the oldest and current Top 20 organisations in Dual Universe.
Dual Universe State of Affairs - Pre-alpha (part 1) can be found in Outpost Zebra
Dual Universe State of Affairs - Pre-alpha (part 2) also available.
Many eyes were cast over this document to double check its accuracy, so many thanks to all those contributors. Also special thanks to the Outpost Zebra team especially @Falstaf that slaved away at getting it formatted so well.

Building things, lots of things. And blasting holes in people who might try to break my things
In general, having fun. Hoping to create a stylish city settlement at some point.

Metric is still better than a fictional unit.
A lot of the world's population uses metric.
And metric can be taught in less than a minute (Everything in distances is done with prefixes [Kilo is 1000, Hecto is 100, Deca is 10, Meter is Meter, Deci is 1/10, Centi is 1/100, milli is 1/1000.] Congratulations. You just joined 9/10 of the worlds population. [However, there is much more but I mustn't teach you.]).
Compared to Imperial? We use body parts... That is correct. Body... parts... And everyone is different.
And making a fictional system is basically metric with different names and prefixes.
"You are 5 kilovoxels away from-"
"Jason. Stop roleplaying and use metric. 5 Kilometers."
"You are 3 miles-"
Jason was exiled from the faction.

Everyone should measure distances in Poronkusemas' (reindeer's pisses).
" An old Sami word meaning ‘the distance reindeer can travel before needing to urinate’. Used as a distance measure, as in “ There’s a Poronkusema to his house’ (7 kilometres, in case you were wondering)." http://www.scandikitchen.co.uk/useful-scandinavian-words-start-using-english/

I don't yet have 3 dimensional paper to map 3d tunnel in scale and with enough detail to ensure not hitting other chamber for example.
Then again we could all just draw our bases, ships and organisations on paper, role-play through chat or forum and save around 10-15€/month for not needing to pay DU when it comes out.

Simply put I like idea of building underground (bunkers, hidden bases etc.) but it can be very difficult to keep track of the caves, what's the shape of the cavern and especially to not accidentally dig into another room unintentionally. I learned this could be challenging in Space engineers except with free cam, which probably won't be possible in MMO.
My suggestion is to have some kind of scanner that lets builder to kind of see through the voxels, not necessarily details of what is going on in another cavern, but at least where all of the caverns are. This could have a limited range that would depend on how advanced tool you have. This could also be used to make maps of tunnels that could be useful. A deep mining tunnel could have signs shoving people what to except/where to go.

Absolutely. Something like this could also be very important when people work together to build something large. If I do something decent sized alone I can look what seems right and make random corrections. If you have 10 people working on single construct possibly, different parts at different times, it is quite necessary to have at least some sort of plan and measures, so you can tell people to built this to 500 meters long, make sure that all hallways are 3 meters high and airlocks 2 meters in radius so they all match each other. At that point people should be able to measure what they are building without spending half of the time to count whatever grids are shown on voxels.

I'm pretty sure that information on timing of alpha beta and and release have been available since the beginning, and while they delayed alpha by few months, I don't remember NQ ever promising beta before 2018. You might want to read on what you are paying for before spending money on something.

Why are you writing the pledge sums like "$15 (Actually $17)"? Makes it like there was something shady with numbers. The first number isn't $/dollars, the first number is in euros because NQ is from Europe, and they are kind enough to give estimate of how much that would be in dollars, presumably because here are many people from USA.

To really put this ^ in prospective for all those wondering how much they will be able to build....
.25 Square Mile = 160 Acres
1 Acre = to average 1 house and yard in rural United States
If you live closer to a major City this average lot size shrinks more and more until you are in the City where it is the smallest soooo....
Suburb average lot size is about half that at .5 Acres and Exurbs you are looking at an average lot size around .3 Acres
If you live in a major City you do not have a house or yard and they measure things a little different in what they call City Blocks, but these are not average, standard, usually anywhere near the same going from City to City so, I will use New York City (Famously known for very square uniform Blocks) north to south a NYC Block is 1/20th a mile
.25 miles = 5 New York City Blocks
So 1 claim area could give you enough space to build either or...
160 Large houses with Large yards
320 Decent Size houses with Decent yards
5 Large City Blocks

Why would the buildings have to be hex? Just because territories are controlled in hex shaped areas (1km wide) doesn't mean you couldn't build houses just as you want.
Personally I could imagine some orgs building great looking skyscrapers (especially on safe zone) as a headquarters/to show of. I would take part in that.

681sq kilometers for one tile? Are you sure it isn't 0.681 sq. I remember reading that tile would be hexagon with 1km radius?
