  1. PVP Event? Add AVA, market it as a Combined Arms game, done, NQ contact me for a marketing chief executive position
  2. Yes. Here's the podcast and the timestamp. Even with a sarcastic tone answered.
  3. According to this definition, one would not be allowed to play Early Access games that have not yet reached the beta stage. Too bad. I had so much fun with Minecraft when I bought it back in 2010 when it was in the alpha version. Or Factorio... The poor fun 1000 hours I'm not allowed to have. No, but seriously. Except for the fact that the company behind it has already published several games, in the worst case you might even like it. You like cable management in the ship? Power management? Want to do some programming? Flamethrowers, rocket launchers, miniguns and other avatar weapons are your thing? All examples that are already in the game. At least your "blockade" sounds more fun in this game. Less hate, more love Johnny. That's a healthier way to live.
  4. I'm not quite sure I understand the second part of the question, but I'll try to answer you because I've been in the alpha since last June: I got a vague and short answer to this from the developers when I asked about a p2p topic for a friend. The clients exchange over a certain distance. There is no server you can ping, or at least that tells you. And some data is verified via servers. What exactly is supposed to be different about Elite Dangerous, I don't know. I don't think they wanted to be more specific, because it's also about security, because p2p is known as easily exploitable. The second part of the question is that you can build your own ship. You are not the ship like in Elite Dangerous. You have Ship vs Ship, Ship vs Avatar, Avatar vs Avatar. So if you have a disconnect, log off or something like that, your ship remains in the world. People can shoot it, raid it, demolish it. I've rarely had so much fun when I raided a bigger ship with a shotgun and a few people. And the regular events in the alpha, which are broadcast on Twitch by the developers, also give an impression of what you can expect.
  5. The comparison is flawed. If I can still make mounts from professions that are not in the current expansion, then I still have to visit the old content. Or the transmogs if I want to have them. Here we are talking about a complete wipe and you have to work out and build everything again, including mining materials. So I don't understand what you're trying to tell us if it's not technically the same?
  6. Of course, the resources you need to build grow on trees. Or do you buy them on the market from the pittance you get from the daily login? I call the game Landmark in space. And your visions that you mention are not what people gave money for back then and made this project possible in the first place to be where it is now. And the various changes of course have managed to make the game dependent on a pillar on which everything rests.
  7. To answer op's question: Not at all. Consider the response time of triple A studios and their decisions on rollbacks in mmorpgs. They didn't wait several days. They acted immediately. I'm curious how many people think it's great that they pay money monthly for everything to be wiped after the beta.
  8. Sometimes it's just a matter of principle. And sometimes it is also good to be against the Echo Chamber. If the presence helps to bring the mistakes of the game and the company's decision to the attention of other customers, then I don't see it as a waste of time. This also makes the popcorn taste better until you receive the Kickstarter rewards. 2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-soon Can't wait for the ark ship ID that was printed by the company ID card printer. It's not like the kickstarter was in 2016.
  9. Why should I financially support a pve server with my former pledge when NQ told me there will only be one server that will have pvp? (Eventually,... Maybe) I didn't put my money where my mouth is back then, before the pre-alpha phase, for the company to do this now. And if they think about such a crap, then they should first fulfil their current game including the kickstarter promise.
  10. I have no numbers for you to read ingame. But what I do have is the popularity on twitch. I have made it my task to post the twitch metrics in our discord every Thursday since the release. Why Thursday, you ask yourself? DU started on 27 August this year. That was a Thursday. To write a short reply: Not a single week has the average number of viewers or live channels increased. No, they have fallen every week. To put that in numbers: - Of the initial ~1000 average viewers, 50% were already gone by October 4th. - 300 average viewers on 25 October - 175 average viewers on 26 November Average live channels at release: 10 Being a few weeks: Only 4 3 December: 132 average viewers 4 average live channels Today, 9 December (Yes, I know it is not yet Thursday): 118 average viewers 4 average live channels I get my info from here since release: https://www.twitchmetrics.net/g/493826-dual-universe
  11. I sign this statement for every game in development. On topic: On their Youtube channel they have uploaded many videos, especially the Dev diaries have always been worth seeing because they convinced me that the technology works. Also the interviews they gave at Gamescom 2018 give the impression that it seems to work. They haven't shown anything of pvp yet, so there's one core feature missing for me. The roadmap says it will come with Alpha 3 next year. One can assume, as they said in a podcast, that we will see a "pvp lite" before Alpha 3. Here's their Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRPE8HHvv1EYu8YwqNgOD8w Here's a Gamescom Walkthrough:
  12. Maybe it's because of this problem that I don't have this ability to disable things. I always find it amusing that people argue that social media collect your data anyway and it's not a bad thing that we do that now. Unfortunately I don't have an account with the big social media and in my eyes it's just ridiculous to argue: "Others do it too". The tip of the iceberg for me, however, is that people draw the "personal level" card and equate the work with a person. It amazes me again and again what great projects the community is building. I only find it a pity when people introduce something, then other people criticize the work and then the author of the work refers it to his personality, although never a word about him or it was never meant personally.
  13. Since this apparently only refers to NDA things, I would like to have a question like this answered for the FAQ: What happens to the bot when the NDA falls?
  14. I don't like the fact, that something like this is represented in an official DU discord server.

    Bike seats

I love bikes,... that would definitely be something I would use.
  16. Ehrm... Europe does not really have a formal fair use doctrine.
  17. Welcome to the forum. Once we know how and what kind of food / buff system exists, you can probably plan better. I assume you can't set up npc working there. So the servicing and creating the menu card will come from yourself. Otherwise, I only see the setting up of the mentioned markets, but this seems very impersonal to me. Much will probably come down to how trustworthy you are and what a general reputation you have. One of my long-term goals for Dual Universe is to visit every bar / pub / tavern / etc. that exist in all solar systems. Problems with payments or similar should be sent directly to Novaquark support.
  18. Since the game still takes a while to appear, you can start by asking your real life friends if they want to play with you in DU , if you are so afraid of being betrayed. Since we are in an mmorpg, and mmorpg does not stand for many men online roleplay as girl, but for living together in a single world where every action has an influence, I am very proud that NQ will establish a civilization with all players. It doesn't matter if you play alone, as a small or large organization. Who invests more and organizes himself better, gets also the larger yield at the end. And this is the case with every mmorpg where you pay money monthly. It doesn't take AI to run a business because it takes commitment to your customers. Build a reputation, present yourself as trustworthy and make the best prices. Large organizations will usually always outdo you. Because if 100 people have the same thought and agree on a date across all time zones, then no AI can save you from having an advantage. Yes, it can be, that a group of 600(!) men have the numerical advantage, but they are also targeted by the other Orgs, because they will not accept such a monopoly position, because they are onions and because you can break something like that with coordination. It's basically like cutting an onion, slice by slice. Everything can be outlived and things can and always will change in an mmorpg. Otherwise you wouldn't need groups, organisations, you wouldn't have to play together, you wouldn't have to talk or act with each other or you wouldn't even have to make an mmorpg out of it. Exactly what happened with SWTOR and you see where it is now. Beautiful new civilization... *sarcasm *

  20. I did some testing a few days ago. There should be a delete button on the communiy page where you created it.
  21. Why don't you ask the owner to give you a tour? Or find out who owns the building? DU is an mmorpg and you usually play with others.
  22. Thanks for telling me, op. It is always a welcome change when you think about the fact that a post does not have to be considered any further. I don't know what it's about now, but at least it brings a breath of fresh air into the community for me. You don't have to answer everything, but the possibility of considering that you could, is remarkable for me. I love concise, short sentences that describe the essentials. And this introductory post hits the nail on the dot. I welcome your communication.
  23. Just stumbled across this interesting armor. I'd love to see something like that in the game! More pictures: http://zbrushtuts.com/2016/09/01/vested-series-police-3d-art-wip-by-mike-andrew-nash/
