    Seconded.
Perhaps a construct element like a Market Unit where a character could have this done? or perhaps it could be part of being resurrected at a node?
I'd also like to see more options get added during expansions/updates

To me size doesn't matter (that's what she said) but it is all about the people. The name, logo, anything meta game like rpg stuff doesn't matter much to me ... people give that stuff meaning.

So not sure if this is really what you are asking but all that stuff in the thread title doesn't mean much to me.  Within the same org or not, I like to play with people who have some degree of respect, honor, trust, relaxed for the most part but still goalish type oriented; knows when to play/relax and knows when it is srs time to be srs. These people like to compromise and work well with others.

If you have a group of people like that then whatever highs or lows come along you all have people to rely on.  Stuff some orgs make mandatory like contributing to the org monetarily or devoting time to some organizational project or risking own property to defend the organization's interests. .... these things are dictated in some orgs but the people I like to play with WANT to do these things.  It isn't asked of them but  it is offered by them.

Like in Eve, I have a solo corp but a tight group of many good people across many orgs big and small and we do things together because we want to not just because we are under the same banner. Those situations I have been fortunate enough to be a part of are the most satisfying to me.

Yep, until one player comes along who doesn't scam people and screw people, and tadaa, everybody's favorite money-changer is born.

You don't _need_ currency. Anyone who has played, say, Ark:Survival Evolved knows that currencies will emerge. Before certain things happened to make it quite common, Chitin used to be the currency there. It was an item relatively difficult to obtain from critters and many servers had exchange rates set between chitin and other items. Once chitin became freely available due to dev modifications, other items have been used as a means of exchange - including gunpowder.

Artificial currencies encourage grinding and farming for currency. Leaving the means of exchange to the player encourages scamming, murder, and all other sorts of EMERGENT GAMEPLAY. I know which I prefer.

In EVE there is a guy called Chribba. He has earned the trust of all players because he's honest. If you want to buy a supercapital from someone else, you go through Chribba (or one of his designates). The seller deposits the supercapital with Chribba, and you deposit your cash with Chribba. That's the only way you are sure you won't get scammed. There's no reason other players can't rise to that level of trust in DU.

Dunbal I dont think that applies to DU.
There arent any npc's you can farm to get credits.

And lets assume players can mint currency.
Dont you think that will make things worse? Because if thats the case players will only go for finding the currency resource, why bother mining anything else?

If there is a resource you can use to mint currency you will enforce farming not discourage it.

Actually, this is not the case. While there may be planets with only one biome out there, I believe there are also planets with multiple biomes, and the starter planet is one of them last I checked

Yeah, fair point. Also, I re-read it few times and yes, it is not that confusing, as it was after the first impression =) But anyway, I would like to see not "Second Stretch Goal" but "Character Customisation". Some players could misunderstand information (same as me in beginning).

It is not said, it won't be tested. So it could be even in alpha but in very early stage of development (nobody can say that for sure). I believe NQ don't want to release badly designed/tested features. So that's why we won't see many of ideas in the release.

    Thanks,

It would help if grass would grow back.
    And eventually trees.

If I do a really big excavation during my quest for resources I wouldnt want it to just disappear. It would break the rule of persistance and I think it looks cool.

If after some time someone wants to fill it up, go for it if you thinks its worth the time and effort.

    Dev quotes are our friend:
    https://www.google.com/amp/s/devblog.dualthegame.com/2015/07/24/territory-control/amp/
Territory Units are rather rare and expensive units, made of materials that will be available only in remote areas away from the arkship, or even on other planets, and requiring advanced mining skills and tools. In other words, it will be close to impossible to build them at start. We expect certain players to specialize in the manufacturing of Territory Units, but even for them the challenge will be high, but then they can expect to get a very good price for them on the markets. We want the Territory Unit to be hard to make because we don't want a sort of gold rush at the start the game, that would favor early players and reduce the gameplay to "get as much TU as possible before it's too late".

Yes indeed. "Protective bubbles" will protect your home from attacks, and is designed to be affordable even for solo players.

You'll have two things in our favor, One, this is a voxel based game on a MMO scale and thus building will require a lot more resources or, probably rather, gathering time making it inefficient to trying to "troll" someone.

Secondly you may purchase/craft a Territory Unit and simply claim a Territory Tile as your own and set rights and duties accordingly - deciding who may build on your tile. This will most probably be the goal of every lone wolf or small group of people wanting to set up a place of their own.

Yeah I was more checking out the base structure then them actually building a ship. Really cool how it was built into the side of the hill and looked like there were underground living quarters there as well.

I admit I don't get the point of multiple people building a tiny ship that could easily have been built by one person.
But, I'm coming from Landmark, so I'm probably jaded.

Dygz_Briarthorn reacted to NQ-Nyzaltar in My Community Has Withdrawn Our Pledges
    Hi everyone,

As the topic is derivating seriously in the last pages, it's going to be closed.
To all those who are wondering if the current level of funding already include the pledge withdrawal, the answer is yes: The pledge amount is updated in real time. If someone unpledge, it's immediately reflected to the amount pledged on the Kickstarter page.

    @ChipPatton:

To sum up your point of view:
    1) Our communication is canned because we didn't reply directly to your community's experience.
    2) You didn't try to discuss with us because the previous reply was canned in your opinion.
    3) You said the PLEX is inefficient against goldfarming.
    4) You assume that I'm convinced DAC is the perfect too and that, apparently, only my opinion counts in the Novaquark Team.
    5) You consider that globally we are non-caring.

So to address this (very) subjective declaration:

    1) We read your community experience and we understand that your experience with PLEX hasn't been fun. However, just looking by the prism of one experience, and refusing to look at the bigger picture is something we can't do as game developers: The problem you encountered is something that you would have encountered sooner or later even without the PLEX existence. Why? If unfair players want to harass a specific group and they have money for it, yes, the official staff can close as many accounts as possible if those use gold farming sites to get a lot of in-game money, but the unfair players will come back again and again, as money is not a problem for them. This is a neverending story. As an EVE veteran player, you probably won't refute the fact that you can harass anyone with fresh new toons, only a few hours old, in Tech1 ships in EVE Online. Again, even without the PLEX/DAC system, the problem remains as a whole, only less visible. So what you consider as a "canned reply" is just a different opinion from yours.

    2) Avoiding to start a discussion just because we have a different opinion from yours, and that there are chances it wouldn't go your way... It has indeed no chance to convince the Novaquark Team. Self fulfilling Prophecy here. But you have no right to complain if you didn't even try.

    3) Three big developers/publishers seem to disagree: CCP, Blizzard and NCSoft (Carabine studios).
Beside that, as gamers, we didn't experience the consistent huge amount of PLEX/gold selling you're mentionning in EVE (Yes, we have EVE players in the team). Do you have something to back your declaration about PLEX system being inefficient beside your own words? If it's the case, we are interested in this data.

    4) The Community Manager status seems to have been misunderstood here: having a personal opinion and making the communication (both ways) between players and the Novaquark team are two different things. Whether or not I'm convinced of something is irrelevant in this case: If players have concerns about one aspect, I transmit the message to the team. If the team has an official stance on a topic, I transmit it to the players (the reason why you received twice globally the same answer). Now, while the team won't change a feature as important as the DAC system on a whim, if some solid concerns followed by facts are given in a well-argued discussion, everything is possible (except coming on what has been already promised to other players such as Kickstarter DACs). However, loud voices and threats of unpledging without solid reasons will not affect game design decisions.

    5) Just because we have a different opinion doesn't mean we are non-caring. We care about every opinion. However, we are also realistic about the fact that we cannot satisfy everyone. Nobody can.

If you have something else to discuss with us that are not:
    - Your (unfortunate) experience on EvE Online.
    - Assumptions of the real intents of the Novaquark Team (like implying the DAC system has been chosen by greediness, when the game is free, the expansions will be free and there will be a free trial period when starting the game... not really a good way to start a reasonable discussion with a developer).

Then by all means, send me a private message on this forum and I will transmit the message to the team for discussion.

    Best regards,
    Nyzaltar.
