Very good questions, but also very individual to each person and faction. 1) We satisfy each others needs, more than that i'm not paying for. Roleplaying is up to yourself 2) By flexing your superior weaponry 3) Depends entirely on the contract you set up, if you forgot to negotiate about stakes with the transport-guys then you can only blame yourself 4) Yes i would gamble and as one of the leaders of a 100 man faction, no i don't think we will ban it. 5) A good impresson after thorough talk with the provider combined with a clean track-record of past deals they have made (Which of course you'll have to check and confirm that the list isn't bullshit)

What Yama said. Also i believe some youtuber made an approx in volume based on the known size of one part of the station. Which adds up to a whole lot of cubic kilometres

So, they had a successful Kickstarter and crowd funding campaign and private investors on top of it. I'm pretty sure development is set, especially since there will be supporter packs soon. Following that DACs and straight gametime purchases is probably planned on covering future upkeep of the server cluster. Not entirely sure when or if they will lack funds but i don't think any special purchases outside game time, DACS and supporter packs are necessary, i mean it's likely there will be merchandise anyways

As everyone said, you will be able to play solo, but prepare to have a tougher time alone, and maybe not be able to do the same things as big groups do, not that i think that will take away too much from your experience, on the contrary i believe it will be the most intense route to follow. Welcome on board!

Anyone else taking time off work for Pre-Alpha?

I have no clue how my University studies will look schedule wise in October but i'm gonna try to match with the server up-time as well as i can. Can't really "take time off" studies sadly, since project deadlines will be deadlines regardless. -

Issues with game development based on pledges

I don't get the real pledge-subscription issue. I pledged gold for example and that includes alpha, beta and 2 years worth of gameplay in DACs for release and forward. If i spend that money on other games i probably wouldn't stick to them for more than a few months, a year in many cases. See it as a long-term investment instead. Investing in that the game will be able to develop into something great and run for a long time. -
Question about logging out/in

Personally i'd like it to be so that all with access to the ships RDSM keeps the scripts working. Always one player in the e crew needs to be on to let the ship keep moving. Otherwise it stops. Also logged out players stay in correlation to the ships core unit. If the ship is destroyed they get the choice to turn up at the closest ress node they have access to or the arkship, letting allied ress ships and stations cover if their ship is destroyed while logged out. For those who want to abuse the logging in after selling or losing a ship to pirates. Selling it or replacing the core unit should in both cases reset login positioning of logged out crew and they get the same options i mentioned earlier. Sorry for poor structure, wrote it on my phone. -
Very wise words indeed. It's important to always have that in the back of your head, some may want to sound grand and claim to be this or that and have this or that in their disposal but in reality we are all gonna start empty-handed as soon as the game comes.
