I would say in order to command respect, a large organization would let another org know they are going to attack before they actually do it. If they don't, since they are a large organization everyone will see it and know what happened. Lots of other smaller orgs will see that and may wonder if they are next... That large org will become unpopular and probably make enemies just by treating everyone else with arrogance. So in the best interests of the longevity of a large and powerful organization, I think it would be a smart move and we could probably expect to see that. On the other hand, smaller orgs might not care so much about things like that, and indeed they wouldn't really need to.

So yes, I think we could expect to see declarations of war, but more commonly with famously large orgs.

Lots of great entries here. Good luck to everyone! The reward for this particular vote is a unique in-game title, correct?

EDIT: Also, I personally feel that hiding the results until the conclusion of the vote would be preferential, if that's possible.

Dude these are fantastic! The little ships moving around in the background of the first few are so subtle but it works so well, and adds a great effect. The others are cool too of course! Awesome job.

My only suggestion would be to make them longer/slower so that the loop isn't as obvious.

Here are some banners that I put together for the discord server:

Here's some miscellaneous art that I added animation to (I didn't make the art, I just animated them):

Finally, this one is pretty large... It's concept art from Dual Universe that I added a bit of animation to.

I added something he did not, along with wording his post in a completely different way, and clarifying the basic point to make it more clear. In any case, my reference to your post a slight joke, as saying that something is both superfluous and unnecessary is both of those things in its own right as the inclusion of the second word defines itself. In addition to a joke, it was also something less friendly than that as your post contributed absolutely nothing to anything except your own post count, something you are notorious for.

ATMLVE reacted to Anaximander in identifying ships
That's as easy as reading a license plate and then just reading the car brand and model, all of which can be tied to a "show info" option on the game's radial menu (showcased in many videos), which shows  what kind of ship the ship you look at is and what kind of blueprint it's build on, thus, the owner person or organisation behind the blueprint, lke T-Motor Wafflemaster 2000, the ultimate wallfemaker ship that ever baked waffles.

So, as you understand, some ships will be "widely available" and others will be custom-made, with no IDs on blueprints on them. AKA, military ships, or pirate ships with tricky features. Last thing you want, is the enemy to know how fast your ship can actually fly, so the show info button will only show a ship name, not its info ,as the Bleuprint was never "patented" on the ship, it was simply built on grid.

Which is why people should learn to build modularly, if they want to be competitive in PvP, or, you know, in the middle ages you payed a blacksmith to make you a custom suit of armor if you wanted to be effective (or just slap a ringmail over some leather armor, it worked). So, find a machine shop, and ask a person to build you a ship you want given they have the skilsl to build it. You don't actually have, as a person, to build your own ship.

Everyone else who's lazy will just buy ships off of the market or blueprints for those "successful" ships, that everyone knows how to coutner their niches.

"Oh, a T-Motor's Wafflemaster 2000 model? Oh, I can just outrun this ship, no biggie"

    While

"oh, custom-made ship, who knows what kind of tricks this guy put in it"

    or

"that ship LOOKS like a T-Motor Wafflemaster 2000, but it definitely flies like too fast to be one and the ID shows nothing, so it's just the hull".

Perfect for Black Ops as well

What Cap is saying is, if there is a ship flying around, then by the mechanics of the game, the ship must have an owner. Whether you can scan a ship to find out who made it I personally don't know. But it would be one way do identify a ship that doesn't have a dedicated transponder.

But if you are flying a ship through territorial space and do not identify yourself as innocent to people who think you may potentially be hostile, then you're asking to be shot as this is a game on the internet.

ATMLVE got a reaction from Lord_Void in When will the game get more popular?
At E3 2016 when they put out the trailer, I'm sure lots of people were skeptical. Short trailer of a game in pre-alpha by an indie dev team... Everyone's seen that before. Most immediately threw caution tape all over that. The thing was that there was barely anything out there at that time for Dual Universe. Not much info and barely any videos on it.

Next E3 (2017), if NQ puts out another video, it will be a different story. There will be so much more for them to show, and people searching for DU online after they see the video will find a plethora of info and videos, and hopefully lots of alpha gameplay.

I think the alpha will bring in new people but I think an E3 demo (perhaps even live with whoever is playing the alpha at that time) combined with the amount of content there will be on the game by then will really start to bring people in.

Brethren in arms, bonded by will; children of the Aether, lords among men – today, we march onward. This day, we charge into strange lands. It is time to leave the comfort of our homes and the safety of familiar places. For it is now, that we answer the Call, it is now that our Journey begins.

The Aether searched and found us. The Aether called and we answered. Now, we run onward for The Aether lives! Lords among men, the way ahead will not be easy. The path that we will tread is the path that none have walked before. Perhaps you think that an uncertain fate awaits us down this road…No. Our fate is secure; the path is uncertain. I see the faces of the young and ruddy, I see the faces of the old and worn. I see your gazes of hope and strength, but I feel the doubt within your hearts. Do not doubt! Do not fear! Our enemies feed on our fear and through our doubt they are made decisive.
We were warned, were we not? The Aether is not for the weak of heart, she is not for the uncertain. The Brotherhood is not for those with weak roots, it is not for souls without conviction. The Aether did not pick children to follow her. She did not summon the feeble folk. She hailed those with hearts of stone, she reached out for those with unbreakable certainty, she searched for the unmovable and lifted the heads of men and women with fire in their eyes. This thorny and narrow road that none have dared to walk is and will forever be our highway. In our small numbers, there is great promise. In our ranks, I see those that will cheat Death time and time again. In our handful of creative minds, I see the answer to the worlds’ problems. In our explorers, I see bright pioneers that will disperse the darkness. In our scouts, I see fearless men and women that bring to light the unknown. In our harvesters, I see the wealth of the Universe. Our haulers hold the paths of the space and time in their minds. I look upon the warriors in our midst and I see the nemesis of our adversaries!

What can hold us back? What can stop us? What can destroy us?

Nothing. Nothing, but ourselves. In our decisions, lie the keys to our existence and to them are bound the chains of our death. There is no foe that can withstand us, there is no mountain that can block us, no valley that can hide us. There is nothing that can put us down! Unless we hand ourselves over to defeat.

In unity, lies our strength, everything else comes after. If we, as brethren and lords among men can conquer our imperfections, none can withstand our advance!

Look upon the lands! They are ripe for the taking. Look to the skies! They are but a hand’s breath away. Cast your eyes to the horizon! All is yours. Raise your gaze to the Universe beyond! It is time for you to reap! Let none take it from you! The blue skies, fertile lands, rich mountains, deep oceans, consuming deserts, freezing ice caps, the chilly tundra and the lush forests, the cattle upon a thousand hills and the wealth of all is yours…if you will take it.
Care for none, but your own! Seek the welfare of no one but yourselves! The road will not be easy and the elements will not be in our favour. Expect no help from man: you will get none. Give no mercy to man, for they will grant no grace to you. In life, know no fear, in death entertain no doubts. In vengeance, don’t hold back! For any man that puts his hands to the plough and looks back is not worthy of joining our ranks.
I see my brethren with the faces of lions and swift as the deer upon the hills. I see us with the wings of eagles and the fire of a thousand suns in our eyes. I hear our roars as the roar of a million oceans and I feel our zeal, surpassing even the fierceness of the wildest storms. Through uplifting victories and resounding defeats, through the rolling hills and steep mountains, through the gentle zephyrs and the violent storms, will we stand together? Will we stand united? For if we will, charge onward!

Leave the safety of your homes behind and match the dread of the wilderness! Forget your families and your lands, abandon your castles and wealth! Leave the simple life and know the thrill that comes with being a child of The Aether. For The Aether is a huntress among hunters, turning predator into prey and feasting in the terror that lives in the eyes of her adversaries.

Run upon the borders of factions and walk the delicate lines between nations. Don’t falter at the difficulty of the task, for by wise guidance you can wage your war. Protect our abstraction, for we are that grey in a world of black and white. With these hands, we will exalt the feeble that call on us and with these feet, we will tread upon the empires we are sent against!

So brethren, sail upon the winds of change. Empires will rise and fall, power will continue its course, but we, the children of The Aether will ride upon the waves. In caring for our own, first and only, will we seek out the secret places of space and feast upon the spoils of the Universe. Cleanse the fear from your hearts! Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety.

The time behind is, but the past. This day, we set out on our new life. Untold pleasures and riches await, only if we can persevere through the trials and storms that strengthen us. What doesn’t kill us, brothers and sisters will only make us stronger.

Rejoice, children of the Aether! The worlds are at your feet. Go forth and take what is yours: the wealth of space and time.

Aether Eterna; brothers and sisters. For we are in this: always and forever.

    Onward!

So basically just random, strange, cool stuff that gives you awesome rare stuff? Sounds cool to me! Only thing about DU is that there are no intelligent aliens, or dev-made constructs. So they would have to be wildlife of sorts, which I guess could work; people have been asking for big game to be in the... game. I could see it working out.

In the interest of providing some hard data to debate, I have looked through the "Last Post Wins" and "King of the Hill" threads (the only two threads I saw that looked like they might be considered spammy). I ignored people who had only posted once, and came up with a list of 23 people who "actively" participate in "spam" threads. Welcome to the forums Basixx! Glad to see you're here. NQs YouTube account suggested above is a great start for your questions. As for your organization, there are plenty organizations available in this section (Arkship Pub) of the forum for you to peruse, most of which speak English mainly. Since you asked for people to recruit you, I'm sure you'll probably end up with a few messages in your inbox.

However, if you click my signature below you'll get taken to the page on the organization I'm a part of, the Aether. It is entirely English and has its own discord, so feel free to make it your first stop in your search! Hope to see you posting around!

Also, I see you play RFG! That's one of my favorite games of all time. It's the only game that I have for all three PS3, 360, and PC. Good choice.

Yes, remove post counts. They do not contribute on anything and they should not be considered a "forum activity" meter.

Instead, add a Likes meter, which is more accurate than post count, if there MUST be a "forum activity" meter. To me it's all the same, I'll get hate over it regardless :|

I'm sure I'm going to get some flack for suggesting this, and the idea didn't completely come from me, but I think that the spammy threads taking over the Off Topic subforum only existing to boost post counts are somewhat inappropriate. Both an inappropriate use of the subforum and a somewhat exploitive way of artificially boosting post counts to try and add legitimacy to user profiles who otherwise aren't contributing in a constructive way elsewhere on the forums.

However rather than amending the forum rules to simply ban those kinds of threads, I believe that posts in the Off Topic subforum should no longer count towards your overall post count.

As someone pointed out on Discord, on other forums sections such as "Forum Games" and "Off Topic" don't count towards users total post counts.

This would alleviate the issue of taking advantage of the Off Topic forum to artificially boost post counts.

Thanks for the suggestion, and welcome to the forums! My first thoughts on this is that I think it's a bit of a stretch to ask for specifically programmed games within the game (what you're suggesting makes me think of GTA V, I remember getting into a game of darts with a friend and we couldn't figure out how to win or lose, or even leave the game, was funny). It just doesn't seem to fit the style the developers seem to be going for.

Now, players can certainly try and make things like this happen. It might have to be something like Tabletop Simulator, a game where you have the pieces and the physics engine, but it's up to the participants to play by the rules- so the game doesn't have the rules of chess programmed in it, but rather it give you physics and a chess board and chess pieces and you can do what you want with that. Scripting will be a thing too, which could help with smaller games within the large one. Dual Universe will be player driven and there will be a lot of tools and freedom, so it could definitely happen! Custom GUIs will be a thing too, so you might even be able to make full fledged virtual versions of the games you're suggestion, in community buildings that could become pretty popular.
