  1. I ve used it 4 times so far and had no issues/crashes. I used the free version.
  2. Absolutely please. Voxelmancy is like when coming home, throwing my keys in the letter box, climbing up to the roof, enter through the chimney down into the cellar. then go up to my flat, realize I left my keys in the letterbox, kick down the front door, rip out the letterbox, get my keys and then realize I m in the wrong house.
  3. As far as I remember it was requested in threads regarding ship building/limiting the engine- and Element-Walls. Also earlier in this thread. Or did you mean historically back in the backer /before Crisis days? @zeddrick: I think often ppl wanted to limit the possibility to spam elements without restrictions/secondary cost. Why do u think energy wouldn't help?
  4. That could be countered by energy production consuming ores/fuel and having an increasing base load the bigger you scale your production/energy grid. Then scaling wouldn't lead to ever falling production cost and wouldn't be favourable unless u try to own the whole market segment/destroy all competitors
  5. Right on. Manila is definitely the place to be.
  6. I think that rant doesn't make sense. Why would the "mistakes" he made be still relevant after he quit for more than a year? If he starts again everything his character already has is a plus, compared to a fresh character, even if he invested in talents he won't regularly use. But I guess it is a question of how u look at stuff and the post seems to be more for the sake of ranting and venting anger. Even more senseless when he anyhow quits right away again. To me it feels like he just wants to bring in his negative energy, trying destroy the game he dislikes. ....and maybe fishing for approval
  7. A Supernova wiping the solar system ? jokes aside. I like your idea and even only new planets would be great, nebulas, asteroid fields and so on sth. In the universe to make it worth traveling. But I ll think of sth wilder still.
  8. I also support the above said and think it should be a fair race. So miners should have to search for asteroids so pirates should too. I also assume finding the asteroids won't be too hard and scanning and mining should take long enough for even the laziest pirate to arrive or camp the most likeable exit routes. If they want to strenghten PvP they could also introduce a special occasion and not make the future of mining the (most profitable and seemingly easiest) occasion for piracy
  9. I agree, I also found the community engaged and helpful. Without them getting into the game would have been much harder.
  10. I get your point or maybe more NQ s reason behind this. Still it feels like the ever present "boomerang". Great promises of complexity and dynamic. Then basically features get cut back so hard, that it barely surpasses the complexity of a browser game or rng. First mining (at least that seems where it is going), now PvP. And that while it hasn't really started. In comparison to the promises of DU s competitors it is losing ground..
  11. ?? Lemme brimg some more of this! I am rooting for... wait whos fighting again? Russians vs. The rest? EU vs. Bureaucrats? capitalists vs. Libetarian?communists vs. Socialists? Ah who cares if someone goes down spectacularly. also im setting up an ingame snowballsystem bring your qantas, i'll waste them and you may label it according to your (political) needs
  12. Amazing how the great troll of the east started this discussion by throwing weird accusations and nonsense into the room (trolling noveans). I thought it would be/should be ignored. Now it seems it started a fight over whether the game is socialistic/communistic or capitalistic.
  13. I don't know your reply seems contradictory. But I understand it the way, that you actually agree with the author: which is damage and collision system is broken, at least unreasonable
  14. I guess the Titanic also wasn't build to re-enter atmosphere or travel space at 30000kph. And the iceberg doesn't really compare to a one voxel pillar. So damage? Yeah, utter annahilation of the whole ship not really. In your comparison, the Titanic sank it wasn't squashed.
  15. What?...wait, why would we listen to an air conditioner?
  16. # mission system? You could have a contractor repair it. But I guess interaction is not a big thing in DU so far. Also I agree repairing a fully crashed ship is no fun. On the other hand if you enable ppl to easily DIY everything, it will prevent interaction
  17. I totally support that, when u use the current glass for cockpits u r basically flying blind blind at night, when in first person
  18. Could also shut down abusive accounts/keys. Then at least ppl who exploit would help save the game, as they would have to switch to payed multi accs
  19. I get that the game is tedious. But I guess it is beta and changes every now and then. I also get that many want persistence and it is ok to utter criticism. Yet I feel some, the louder they are, also have an excessively strong sense of victimhood. They act like they didn't buy/sub the game, much more like they own the publisher, even more can dictate the people behind the scenes what they (exactly) have to do. Even when NQ made and makes hard or questionable decisions, the way parts of the discussion go, it just seems exaggerated and unfriendly.
  20. I can't say how NQ calculates and store changes. Yet to me the solution doesn't seem plausible. If the problem were the calculations on digging and the transfer of that data to the db or iops, it doesn't seem to be changing. I can't see a difference in load between 100 people mining an asteroid or the same 100 mining a planet. The calculation and transfer should amount to the same. Only difference might be not all of the 100 reaching an asteroid. If it were about the amount of dataspace used by the sum of all mining alterations to the ground, it seems that could be solved by the limitation to asteroidmining BUT as well by the Forementioned decay/timestamp that deletes all alterations after a given time. Then again if mining weren't the main means of earning quanta, especially for starters, then way less people would mine (e.g. add farming, missionsystem, working PvP, basic mining through extractors, working trade/markets). As well as it is one of the few included game features besides building ships and buildings (so players are pretty much limited to do mining, at least to a big part). If there were other means, Then the current system could be uphold for professional miners, everyone who sees it exclusively as a chore would move on to one of the other game features. That might save even more data than limiting it to certain places. Even with mining, add the announced gems or extras to mining and exclusively to manual mining, abolish meganodes and rather have orevein qualities for diverging return/yield per volume on different nodes. Then mining might also be more of a (specialized) challenge. And a little less data intense. So I think there might be other ways to lower cost on NQ side and uphold and diverse the game experience. Additionally the limitation will be hard for starters. I expect a big land grab (esp. By orgs) when extractors are introduced. Then starters might have a hard time to territorry fight (If introduced), no active mining on the few remaining tiles, few left for automated extraction? alternatively spaceflight on day one to mine asteroids? With PvP and outside safezones? I think starters will have a hard time.
  21. I also like the new skins, eventhough I am not a big fan of monetising especially when you pay monthly already and we re still in beta. So I hope they re a gift to the community. One thing..where did you get the pictures?I don't want to ruin a positive thing, but why does NQ not communicate or present stuff like this? What happens at marketing and communications? I didn't see them on their page nor yesterday evening on login screen
  22. I dont know about this. Seems like limiting, basically partially removing one of the few working features. I get bankruptcy ain't nice, then again if the project is done for it is done. Maybe it would be better to be honest. Then again if ppl are happy with a zombie of a game then why not? I felt mining, eventhough at times excessiv, was a defining feature. If you Automine you re daily Dosis to spend or use, I can't see how that would inspire space travel or economy. We would be relieved of the burden or possiblity of mining, but to move on to what? Static PvP that still doesn't work? Warping around empty haulers?or replace mining with even duller surface collection? So serverload wise it might be smart or even necessary. Gameplay wise another blow, to a fragile frame. I guess it will come anyway, yet I hope they fill the growing void of gameplay features. Don't get me wrong I don't want to beat a dead horse. I like the game, yet to watch this mixture of paralysis and slow and suffering winding down is sad to watch. It seems the positive momentum has long been lost. ....surprise us NQ!
  23. Looks Like voxel lice, bring in some ladybugs they ll Munch the lice away And you should be fine. If it is voxelfungus though... You better Start a new Base, it ll eat the rest away in No Time.
