The video would have to be many hours longer for you to understand the actual game mechanics that it takes hours to get from a planet to an alien core station depending on the ship. The mechanics should be presented more clearly, especially that you don't notice many battles with ships, but at most see a blue ship icon with distance and name. Most of the time, the ships do not render at all because of the distance, as the video suggests.
There is also no indication that you can only "play" a battle by clicking "select ship, identify, shoot". There are no great flight manoeuvres to avoid being shot at. The ships themselves looked great in the video, but this is hardly reality, because they are often elementary ships in order to keep the ship size as small as possible and now also to minimise the weight due to the maximum speed.
I generally feel that the time you have to invest in the game to finally get to a point where you can really play and have fun is too extreme. Has NQ really thought about what exactly a player is supposed to do while flying through space for 2-6 hours? Whether it's a mission or now the alien cores. What exactly do the developers expect the game to be perceived as? In our organisation, people watch series or films on the side or simply start another game. Excuse me - but is that really the way it's meant to be? You have to consider that we use high-quality hardware to play the game, as well as then (at least here in Germany) a high value of electricity costs to implement this hobby - and NQ expects me to "play" a game while I tune out the game to do other things? This reminds me of the browser games that you start once a day, send your ships somewhere to attack something, click through the productions and then go offline again to check the next day whether everything had worked.
The video itself, well, you notice that not much time and money was put into it, which is understandable at the moment, as you are happy for every sign of life from the game.- Koffye, Sabretooth and LeoCora

Full Wipe if I can keep my Skillpoints.
Funny.
If you can keep your talent points, it's not a full wipe.
So you are against a fullwipe, but claim they would accept the fullwipe.

Things such as maintenance, upkeep, deterioration... heck, even a lifespan that depends upon damage, maintenance or use history otherwise once everyone has one of everything, the game is basically over.
This would only be true if you were only ever in the safe zone. As soon as you enter the PvP area, you can lose everything immediately and then you are left without anything. Unless you have already built and financed a replacement ship.

Have you ever used an AGG yourself?
You can easily earn ores for fuel within a few minutes. In the case of the AGG drive, you can steer the ship, but this takes a lot of time that you could also use to collect fuel.
2 hours ago, Jinxed said:Things such as maintenance, upkeep, deterioration... heck,
How good this compulsory content is, to have to work on something in order to finally be allowed to play afterwards, can be seen in the tax or the calibration mechanism with the MiningUnits. Do players really want even more compulsory content before they can play?
What does a game night look like then?
- First calibrate, then repair all the machines or supply them with energy, then maintain the spaceship, maybe protect the building voxels with an anti-decay coating? Then fly 1-2 missions so that you can pay the taxes and then finally play what you want - or go offline because you don't have the time to play. The game doesn't need more obligations that you have to work through, but rather game content that is fun, whether solo or as a group. I don't want to have a second job in the evening after work, I want to relax in a game and experience something.
A good relationship between playing and doing something must be created in order to be able to play. At the moment, however, you need a lot more time to have to do something in order to be able to play.

I really just don’t understand why miners and industry territory beacons, weapons AGGs, warp beacons don’t require fuel to run.
They are perpetual engines. Why should the warp beacon have a consumption in itself? The consumption is created by the warp drive and the warp cells. Especially since the warp beacon itself is already a considerable expense in terms of production.
The AGG doesn't necessarily need consumption either, there the consumption is the own time to reach the heights with it. -

That is not true. There was an info a week ago.

Hey everyone!
We wanted to let everyone know that the internal discussions are still ongoing. We have been reading your feedback (all of it - really!), and we wanted to express our sincere thanks to everyone for joining in the discussion.
We have also been gathering your questions (please continue asking them if they haven't already been asked in this thread) and we'll do our best to have some answers for you as soon as we can.
Thanks again, we really do appreciate all of the feedback. ❤️
Tomorrow another week will have passed, is there any news in the meantime? Could we have a short update on the state of affairs every Friday, i.e. once a week? -
Should there be a wipe now, how will regular players from the alpha/beta then launch into the game at release? So will the area on Sanctuary remain (with or without constructs) or will you have to set a new area? So if the moon area unit has to be re-set, is it tied to Sanctuary or will you be allowed to start on the "new" moon there as well?

Sanctuary is a waste man! Alioth and Sanctuary are the same, except there were more abundant resources in Alioth!
How is the game right now, do we still have Sanctuary?
When Beta started, I invested in my Sanc, and whatever I mined outside of it, I brought them to the Sanc, and then I ended up quitting the game! It was a trap man!
Therefore, everything that you had built up there should still be there on Sanctuary.
Alioth and Sankt are not the same. One is a planet, the other is a "starter moon". There are a lot of differences. -

There were an insane amount of exploits that let people get to endgame
We're in a sandbox voxel game here with no progressing game content to achieve, which endgame are you referring to? Do you want to build more than others? Do you want to build bigger structures than others? Do you just want to have more quanta than others? It's all irrelevant in terms of the game experience itself.

If everything is safe on sanctuary, then there is no wipe ...
It depends on the justification, doesn't it?
If one wants to "reshape" the existing planets and therefore justifies the wipe, this small moon could remain untouched. If the reason for the area wipe is to prevent players from using a lot of good mining areas for mining units and wanting to re-roll these values, this small moon could also be excluded, since the values on this moon were all equally weighted and fairly adjusted anyway.
If it is purely about the economy, the moon would also only play a minor role. Who among the new players would come to this moon, especially since you can't take any territories there?
Of course, you could now store and secure vast quantities of raw materials and all your possessions there. However, it also costs a lot of time and resources to undertake such a "move" there.
In the end, an economic wipe is pointless anyway, because the problem of rich or poor players will always be there and is only delayed by the wipe. after a few weeks and months there will be very rich and very poor players again. So for me it's not a sensible reason, it's just harassment.

Regardless of whether a wipe or a partial wipe is coming, does NQ intend to keep the special protected area on Sanctuary unaffected or will there be a deletion of earned values there as well?

After all, if we convince NQ that they have irredeemably messed it up and there's no way back they might as well just shut the whole thing off now right?
I'm not sure NQ really wants to have a "discussion" with us, but rather just give us some insight into what "positions" are on their table for internal discussion.
Similar could be seen from the last published "discussion topic, where it was made clear that the topic itself is not just co-discussion, but purely for noting.
What could be done here, however, is to find other positions and ideas that NQ may not have thought of or think are unimportant. -

I think NQ is tripping over theior own words in trying to be as vague and convoluted as possible, saying basically nothing with a lot of words.
I think it's incredibly difficult to translate correctly from French to English or to really express what you really mean and feel and then maybe translate again into a language of the different players, for example: German, Russian,....

I don't really understand why you would want to take anything away from players at all. DualUniverse should be constantly expanded anyway, more planets, more solar systems....so why is it so hard to introduce the so often suggested second solar system for new players or just use the new starter moon already used on the pts for new players to test themselves out there and then join the experienced players when they want to and feel ready for it.
You don't have to take anything away from anyone, since there would be no advantage or disadvantage anyway, considering that there are no pre-set goals in the game, but everyone can find and create their own way. By taking away the earned content of the players, one only stirs up hatred and ill will, it would be even worse if one would only take away parts in order to play off groups of players against each other.
If it's purely about the planet surfaces, they should accommodate us players by giving us time to move our buildings into space. It would make sense if you could introduce a new feature where you can change the core of a construct. So a static core can be replaced by a space core. -

NQ What interests me as a player is to play.
Playing in an MMO is about overcoming obstacles alone or with other players.
Playing in an MMO in beta is helping a game in the making or during this beta, it can have big changes (you have to accept big changes even if you have paid a beta subscription).
Playing Dual Universe in beta means believing in the future of this game and not counting its quantas, its talents, telling yourself about it.
To play after the WIPE announced by NQ is to believe that many new players will arrive and will not leave too late with the beta players. It is the arrival of many players that will allow NQ to continue paying for the servers on which DU is installed. Right now, I don't think there are enough of us to pay the bills (otherwise NQ wouldn't have put a subscription on the beta).
So if your amount of quantas or talents or construction is more important than the future of Dual Universe, it means that you are not a fan of Dual Universe but simply a player who wants to consume the game.
If NQ does not make quantas, talents and constructions disappear because too many beta players want to keep their achievements and want to keep a superiority over new players, new players will not come in droves and DU risks not surviving long time.Fortunately, this is only one of many views and thus not universally valid.
Beta does not necessarily mean big changes, but fine-tuning. What is currently happening in DualUniverse would rather be classified as alpha, since basic game content and mechanics are still being worked on and tried out, and are sometimes added to the game or taken out again. (Schematics, MiningUnits, PlanetOre...)
As for a beta otherwise, certainly many players are aware that you should consider this as a kind of test scenario. In contrast to this, however, is the fact that the beta was not presented as a normal beta, but as a soft release, in which the players can build up something in advance through the paid subscription and this is then secured by BPs. The players themselves already support the game with their subscription.
You also don't have to overcome obstacles in the game, what makes them think you would have to overcome obstacles solo or in a group in an "MMO"?
DualUniverse is primarily a voxel sandbox with PvP possibilities. What obstacles are there, then? It's not a typical mmo(rpg) where obstacles in the form of dungeons, raids, world bosses or an equipment level are a requirement or goal. In DualUniverse there is not even a serious "goal" where you have to run after it like in World of Warcraft to reach it first. Worldfirstkill! Yay!...no, there isn't. But we can build great things in DualUniverse very relaxed and without time pressure. Spend days, weeks, even years on it, each player as he likes it best. -

But as it stands, the cards are on the table and it looks like NQ has decided they will make a hail Mary move in rushing to a release with the funding and resources they have, probably hoping that the many tens of thousands they need will still
That would only happen if NQ went from advertising and sales pitches to showering new players with honesty.
If I imagine I come to the website as an interested new player: https://www.dualuniverse.game/ or this here: https://www.novaquark.com/homepage
and look around there, pictures, texts, videos and then start playing, I will probably just leave the game disappointed within a month. (Unless I'm a mega-fan or can't find anything else interesting on the gigantic games market).
If a new player then read through the Discord or the forum, ....
I myself am not yet fully aware of what kind of players I would like to attract and retain permanently in the first place. Sure, superficially a mixture of Eve and Minecraft players,...but how should one be able to lure those here? Why not take more players with other interests on board? -
- Does a wipe also reset the achievement points, since they also unlocked points for the talents?
- What time frame does NQ see between release with the thought of a wipe. So, how long are players expected to hold out from "now" before things are taken away and the game is released?
I think the longer the wait will be, the more likely players will lose interest in the game or just look for other games to tide them over, maybe even without coming back.

How will the bonuses of the "Refer a Friend Program" be handled in case of a wipe, especially the vehicles and skill points?

Thank you for the long awaited information. At the moment, I would like to see a decision very quickly, as this current state of affairs is hugely damaging to ambitions and causing resentment in the community. It's just not fun to log in and build something great under these conditions. -
What about fullwipe then, would we also go all the way to new character creation and everyone has to pick their name again?

Don't distort the pay2win tag. While I don't disagree that having multiple accounts has some big advantages. It's a far cry froming being able to buy premium ammo that's better then you get in game.
Is this now going to be a discussion of when p2w is bad or not?
where does p2w start? From an advantage? a large advantage? Advantage over other players, even if you only play for yourself? Advantage in the endgame, when there is no traditional endgame at all?
he fact is, almost every game can allow advantages through multiple accounts. In the case of DualUniverse, however, these things are already significant, simultaneous and, depending on the playstyle, completely irrelevant, depending on what a player does with them.- 150,000 Quanta Login Bonus
- MiningUnits maximum calibrations 50/50
- transport mission packages in one piece, instead of only one max 9,5m/package
- more connected areas and consequently more percentages for MiningUnitsBonuses 10-60%
- in PvP control several ships equipped with weapons, instead of only one
- unlock more coreslots 200/200 (to be able to build more, although there is a limit per player)
- more independence in skill order (players could achieve complete autarky)

Then you could feel a little confused, hearing about a wipe, huh ?
There are clear rules on this in Germany:
Anyone who advertises in a publicly misleading manner with untrue statements and thereby wants to create the appearance of a particularly favorable offer can be punished with a prison sentence of up to 2 years in accordance with §16 (1) of the German Unfair Competition Act.An advertisement is always public if it can be perceived by a larger group of people. This means in particular that all Internet presences constitute public advertising. Anyone who deliberately makes statements that are provably and objectively untrue, thus creating the possibility of misleading people in order to present their offers in a particularly attractive way, is liable to prosecution.

Good question!
You will be able to see the locations of your constructs on the new system map if they are selected in the left menu. Sharing the location with your friends/organization and anyone else, you'll need to send them the coordinates.
I hope that helps!
Thank you, so the current operating principle was included in the new map. Too bad, I hoped that you can "unlock" a separate station for the map, so similar to the interesting places (points of interest) on the planet surface.

the goal is to get back to 450k players
How is this going to happen? That is a wish for which you would have to present something properly - not just in the short term, but in the long term. There have been many games in recent years that burst out of all servers at the beginning and complained about empty servers after a very short time, to the point of complete failure. Currently, I don't see how you could keep 450,000 permanently with the content.

ArcheAge is not comparable with DualUniverse. Here you don't have any equipment that can be broken, downgraded or destroyed for your character in order to be able to play in the endgame. likewise, here you don't immediately forfeit all your possessions because you don't pay your taxes, so you don't lose the land or even important things that are on the land. here you can even permanently protect 5 areas. likewise, there is a permanent area on the starter moon.
In general, the grind in DualUniverse is not as extreme as in archeage. Here it is enough to set up their mining units and calibrate them once a week. A week in Archeage has fatal consequences for their equipment, because many points were simply not collected through dailies. I myself played ArcheAge very successfully for many years, streamed and created guides and websites and switched to DualUniverse because here you can play in a much more relaxed way and don't lose everything because you weren't lucky when upgrading. Of course Archeage had the much better housing system, the furniture alone is worlds better, as is the PvP system, especially the ship battles - the PvP in DualUniverse is really boring and outdated. But hey, in the end it depends on what exactly you want to do in DualUniverse to find fun for yourself.
