  1. I mean one short of 10 million. 😉
  2. That is weird, currently my income from ore sales to NPCs is maybe 20% of my income, ~5% comes from the daily log in rewards and the rest comes from mission running... I'm currently operating on Alioth (with a 3 day base on Thades for the Chromium), I've considered going to the outer planets, but the choices aren't great yet imho. I might go to the next batch of planets NQ releases or wait until they're all there... If income is an issue, maybe you've colonized too early? I've currently got 16 tiles that are 'active', I've staggered aquisition in groups of three, so I'm not due one huge bill after a week. This is primarily T1 ore (with only one tile mining a little Limestone), and I'm using most of it for building more stuff. I get a little overproduction of Quartz, which I sell to NPCs (thus the maybe 20% income) and I buy the underproduction ore with like Coal (or Natron). I'm getting to a point where I overproduce a little in the en product department, I need to do some math and I'll probably be selling products on the market in a short while (the further decreasing sales to NPCs)... Selling Nitron with max production skills is still profitable at 10q/L, the NPC orders are at 50q/L, those are NOT low NPC order prices. A Basic Atmo Engine M is 97.066q from an NPC order, the lowest PC sell order is 68.000q and at that price you're still making a super healthy profit. What I'm reading in the OP is a ton of assumptions that you don't do your own research on and/or you're expectations are completely out of whack (sell prices being too low)... DU is hanging together from 'grind' missions, ore mining, ore picking up, automining, production chains, buying/selling, moving product from A to B, etc. That you don't like a certain kind of grind I totally 'get' though, but that doesn't suddenly make the rest of DU less grindy! I don't mind if the grind is fun, but many of the gameplay loops just aren't fun (or interesting) for repeated use (where is my fun NQ!?!? 😉 ). For me it's about the building up to something and the persistence in that, but we all know how NQ Advanced Screwed us over on that and left the door open to do that again (but that is for another rant). My advise: Do some math, both on what things cost to make and what it's being sold for. Do some research on where to sell it and how to sell it. Tips: You can make a tile an HQ tile, no taxes means no industry or automining, but a space station doesn't require taxes to do industry... Horizon has BPs for space elevators... Buy one, build one, deploy on your HQ tile, go to space, deploy Space Core and do all your production in there...
  3. Not really... And it looks like it's only temporary. #1 NPC buy orders are not refreshed. #2 NPC buy orders are limited to T1 ore and 9.999.999 per market. #3 NPC sell orders are so high that these will quickly become irrelevant as more people get into manufacturing. At Alioth 9 of the 20 markets have been bought out of NPC order Quartz. And that is only after two weeks directly after launch. I suspect that the other 11 markets at Alioth won't survive for long, and certainly not another two weeks (as mining yield ramps up drastically). Then people will spread out to the already depleting Alioth Moon markets (including Haven/Sanctuary). The rest of the planets there are just not that many people (yet). Stuff like Hematite, Bauxite and Coal just have more demand and many buy orders are already over NPC prices. I suspect that none will survive till the new year (unless NQ refreshes them). The NPC sell orders for Nitron (atmo fuel) are 50q/L, while the lowest PC sell order is only 10.1q/L, with max skills, that is still very profitable! The basic NPC sell orders are there imho to keep the game playable, especially for new players at launch and at a later time in the games life. As you can no longer mine on planets, the pickup rocks are no longer respawning and are getting scare near any of the markets (especially in a few weeks/months), so this gives players an option to get the basics with their daily allotment of quanta, even if they are not near a major market hub. The quanta faucets and sinks are there to keep things playable and give the game a chance at life. While you could make a game without any of those systems and even let players make/control currency systems, the average DU player would run away screaming at that prospect, not to mention that the game would be an complete and total mess until players have made such systems that work and people trust (enough, good luck with that!)...
  4. No offense, but after the last two years, NQ has spent all the goodwill we've had, and why Archy is leaving is not because only this specific case, it's because of the mountain of times NQ has screwed us over by doing something different from what they said they were going to do. This is what is called the straw that broke the camel's back OR the drop that made the bucket overflow. Archy has given everything away, including his DACs, so he's pretty much gone. Don't get me wrong, a LOT of us that have (started) playing since beta launch are close to what happened here. Personally I've not used my 4 paid accounts since April 14 (wipe announcement) till launch, that's 22 months of subscription down the drain. I started playing again at launch, my accounts have been prepaid for a while, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if I'll also 'hissy fit quit' at some point. DU/NQ has been grinding away at my thick skin for the last two years, I'm here again, but my patience is wearing thin!
  5. Isn't it 112L x 111% x 100% x 71% =~88L Base Rate x Efficiency x Adjacency x Calibration = Production Rate Could be me, but this is what I'm getting with my units.
  6. This is every community online (these days), the 'DU community' is not some sort of coherent whole that collective follow a single moral direction. @DekkarTV While the whole 'building' the wall thing was a 'D-move', people threatening your life is absolutely NOT acceptable. Please report this to NQ (via ticket) and depending on local laws, report it to local law enforcement with the NQ ticket number as a reference. While chances are good that 100% of the people making the threats won't ever follow up, you never want to be the exception to the rule! And maybe, just maybe NQ will ban them from DU and law enforcement will get seriously punished. * Never did run into the wall, but almost ran into other ships twice, as that wall is funneling ships in a specific direction. My advise from Beta, is build low, not only does that make life easier for others, it also is better for yourself. If you need a platform for AG, build one (relatively thin) at the proper height and use the space elevators (check Horizon) to move between the ground and the platform.
  7. The size of the planets doesn't bother you? The distance between planets doesn't bother you? An SU being only 200km? Max speed only being 50k in space? How many liters go in a cubic meter? And the sudden mass generation after material processing is what REALLY bothers you... OK... 😉 For me any semblance of 'realism' went out the window with the items I mentioned. I understand why these things were done, so it's not a huge issue for me. But I've found peace that the laws of nature in the Dual Universe are 'alien' and should not be compared to our laws of nature. Learn to live with the internal consistency (or lack of) of DU... It really improves your sanity... 😉
  8. NQ has you covered, introducing DAC, for all your needs! Just swipe right with your credit card! 😉
  9. Patch 1.0.1 states "Fixed a potential exploit", was that exploit actual misused? Do you have a way to check that? And if it was misused, did you roll back the misuse? Because during the last two years during beta, NQ has fixed exploits, but never the misuse that was done with them. That resulted in the economical mess in DU that required a complete wipe. If NQ doesn't roll back exploit misuses, we'll be at the same state in another two years (another wipe)... So that's why I find such info important. Edit: Patch 1.0.3 states "Fixed an exploit.", that sounds like it was actually misused. So where the misuses rolled back as well here? What happened to the accounts that were exploiting?
  10. You need to research the Axe... 😉
  11. On day one stability was fine, but further along the week stability became an issue. Progression balance is fine (for now), which was one of my biggest worries.
  12. In my experience during beta, NQ BOT sell orders are generally 2x what (perfect) player sell orders should be.
  13. Only if I was invisible and had a big fish to smack some sense into some people... 😉 My issue with it (potentially) is that stuff is very cheap and you can build/fly all kinds of stuff, then people buy a subscription and play on the production servers and the game is "Dual Universe: Enter The Grind"...
  14. That could then be a total misrepresentation of the release game... We shall see Tuesday.
  15. That is saying that the sandbox has no content... It's up to you to build those sandcastles! No, the issue isn't that there isn't content, the issue is that doing the fun stuff (like building and flying) requires you to do a TON of mindnumbing and unfun grinding, that's pretty boring OR requires you to do boring and tedious mini games and then wait a long while...
  16. Fortnite was kicked out for implementing it's own in app payment system. On Steam you can do that in your games without issue. But if you want your users to pay through Steam, you would want to integrate it. 30% is what you pay for selling through Steam, unless you have a LOT of sales. As a developer/publisher, you can still generate an unlimited number of Steam keys you can sell through other avenues and Steam doesn't take a cut from, but the other sales avenues will take their cut. 33% price increase? 😉 $20/€20/month when?
  17. It would make the game very unfun! Realism != fun. Travel would take way too long, the planet would be mostly empty, resources wouldn't mean anything as everyone could easily get what they would want with similar distribution. If not, it would be hell scanning all those tiles.
  18. I agree, you fix a mistake and roll back the damage it did. This is NOT what NQ did for two years and that is my issue. They let the damage accumulate, let us pay and play in the mess and then destroyed it all. And this just gives them 'permission' to do it again. No matter how many nice words you use, that is not going to change how I feel about that. NQ is not an AAA company, so I give them a little more slack, just like I do with every Indie developer. But the difference here is that normally and Indie developer releases a game and you pay money to play it, you own it. If that Indie developer releases a bloody mess and then stops developing it, saying it they will fix it in their Game Name #2 and expect you to buy their new game. That is where my slack giving ends for Indie developers. This is pretty much what NQ did with DU. THEY messed up, they didn't fix it, they let us pay and now expect us to pay more and are giving themselves permission to do it all over again... Besides this issue, I also have an issue with DU itself, compared to Beta launch two years ago, the only improvements I see are on server stability, maybe performance (graphics) and some quality of life improvements. But the core gameplay mechanics have become way worse, they've become a boring grindfest. So much so that some people, that are huge fans of DU, have refused to do autominers at all (not me, I did insane amounts of automining). Others refuse to do missions for the similar reasons (it's also extremely wasteful of RL energy).
  19. @DarkHorizon You're forgetting the big bottle of anti-depressants! 😉 Seriously, no one choking on this:
  20. Your stuff might be gone, depending on how many hexes you had, no sub your stuff might still be gone. But that doesn't matter, because at launch all your stuff will be gone. You might want to check how many months of subscription you have, if you have 13+ you get a max bonus at launch. You might want to stock up on gametime before launch as that counts for those 13+ months and give you the opportunity to check out some of the changes.
  21. Oh god! Where is my barf bag? 😉 I'm going between just YOLOing it, see how it all now works and going full out with four accounts and see when I throw up my hands and walk away angry...
  22. When a nobody (niemand = nobody in Dutch) says something is easy, chances are that it is not...
  23. Then common sense must be more rare then 'talent'... 😉
  24. So... You're not playing any games... 😉 With the occasional small or one man game company, they are all made for one thing: Profit. Sure DU came from a dream, but that dream could only be made partially true with profit. We are the fuel of that profit. NQ is just a bit more obvious/honest about it then most...
