My largest worry is the people who are paying a monthly subscription. Now If they were to do a wipe that kept Talent Points and BPs then I think that would be fine. There money was not wasted.
My other question is the DACs I believe they were called (Monthly subscription). I would hope we get to use them when we choose and not have them automatically chewed up whether we like it or not. -
I thought the load on the servers was meant to decrease with this? The game is a lot worse to play now than it was before. It freezes up so often now.

As a Miner/Builder who is a casual player, I am very happy with the changes. Even the amount of tax is good as is the amount of Ore per hour.

Just a friendly heads up and warning that those with alt accounts will repeat the imbalances from mission running their alts, and the economic gap between non-exploiting and exploiting players using alts is just gonna keep growing and probably wrecking the economy. Also don't expect alt account players to lose too many tiles... this will just impact those of us to play on a single account.
Are you ready to be placed at a further disadvantage?Don't these people with alt accounts pay real world cash for this advantage?

How exactly do they mean that?
The HQ are not tax-exempt. They can be tax-exempt, but then they have no benefit for industries or mining units. So it's only good if you just want to park your constructs there or build freely. What I meant by that is as a casual player I can ignore the taxes as I choose too and only pay if I wish to mine. I don't have to worry about trying to kill myself, I can pay the tax, set it up to mine, walk away, and if I want to mine more I can sell some of the stored ore and rinse and repeat.

No, I agree that the scans removal was the right decision to make for a number of reasons. I've said that several times now.
Sorry then my mistake, I have no idea what your post is about.

From another game's devblog
"First of all, we made a mistake with the roadmap where dates were way to optimistic which set the wrong expectations with the players" ..
"this is not an excuse, we should have known better but this is how it happened"
then provide a clear explanation on how you made the mistake and how you rectify it.
Now, that is how you take ownership of what you do/did wrong.. No talking around the issue here..
Is this about the scans being now useless because they actually listened to the player base?
Personally I like that they listened for once. Yes it did cause players some inconvenience but them ignoring us has caused a lot more in the past.

With the 5 HQ territories for individuals, I am happy with the cost per week. This means everyone can gain a reasonable income at no overhead cost and only those who want to earn more must pay more.
Gets my vote. -

While I am a care bear, I think the idea of automated mining is an interesting one, so long as they give us something to balance to loss of play time for care bears, like more things to manufacture. Wheels and pistons would be excellent but I think I am dreaming on that.

The real question is as they may wipe the whole game. Is DU worth $10 a month for a game that may be completely wiped if it ever manages to be financial enough to release?
-
Watching the video, it would appear to me that there are so many, we don't knows, maybe after demeter, we are not sure yets and other phrases, that show this patch SHOULD NOT be released yet.
Not only is this patch VERY ALPHA, it is also very undecided. At this point you have to wonder if this is to save costs, maybe they should shut down the public servers for another year and restart with an alpha, when they are ready.
Also wipe on release????? That has to be a mistake. How is the question of a wipe for release on the table? -

Casual Players
Given the amount of tax per tile, this will make it very hard for casual players to hold tiles or even want them, this will then limit the number of casual players who would want to play the game.
I had hoped the tiles would work on a basis of number of tiles owned per player, where like now the tax increases the more you have or for tiles to cost more per tile that is occupied near them increases the tax, so that those who gain the additional benefits of owning more tiles next to each other also pay more taxes.
Now given the schematics cost a fortune to start with, the addition of taxes will remove any want of casual players to play this game.

As for sanctuary, and everywhere else, surface mining is still completely valid. Get surface rocks, use them to make baby mining units, and deploy baby mining units. Profit!
Enough with the doom and gloom.
Say YES to Mining Units!
Also say YES to Territory taxes, because they're finally going to evict all of the people that quit playing a year ago.
Underground mining was a massive part of this game and I can understand why they are removing it but still it is a major change.
As to the players who stopped playing a year ago. You mean the hundreds of thousands who helped fund this game.

Rust, zombies

7d2d did something that I have since forgotten.
I know star citizen did a couple game changing things. (and multiple times on the same system).
Lets just pretend you did not say Star Citizen, a game still in Alpha and probably will be forever.

Kind of like banning the ownership of combustion engines in a country and telling mechanics that combustion engines exist in different countries.
As to Industry being very much a part of the game, 2 months ago you could say the same thing about hand mining on planets.

Huge changes like this are definitely 'VERY ALPHA'...but tbh I feel it is driven by a financial need to release above everything...Demeter will fundamentally change the math on affordability and revenue per customer, which matters when you're about to scale up (or try to do so, anyway).
Yes the drive is very much for financial reasons, which would make it a better idea to set it back to an Alpha and put it on steam as an early release to get a cash influx. Releasing it early shortly after Alpha level changes will just spell the end of this game.
-
These changes are VERY ALPHA. I cannot think of a game that altered the basic premise of the game so greatly in beta.
As to previous scans being valid, I thought the video clearly stated they would not be.
Must admit I do feel like a fool having wasted so much time on mining skills that are now pretty much worthless.
I do worry that this game is just going to turn into a PvP game, where Industry is a complete side note.

Oddly, when CCP turned off local in NullSec last year, it was us explorers who benefitted the most as many campers and "casual" PVP players stayed away as they were afraid of getting caught. It was quite glorious .. and profitable
Such a shame CCP caved in to the Null Sec cry babies. So many people who had not played for years were starting to come back. CCP should have taken the risk and the game would have so many more people now.

How the game will deal with players B that will land at a the same location of a despawned ship and suddently respawn few minutes after player A log in again ?
By moving it to the nearest available space same as it does not allow ships to occupy the same space at the moment.

Hello,
The loading times at the Districts and the Markets are beyond a joke and it has only gotten worse over time.
When players log out, (if they are not in combat), then their Dynamic cored ships should disappear 10 or 15 minutes later. This will save massive amounts of bandwidth and make the game a lot easier to play.
So, the latest on a partial wipe

Honestly I am worried about NQ rushing to release and so it would be nice to have the option of not using the DACs straight off the bat as I may wait.
