Welcome to the Cinderfall Syndicate Department of Defense! The Defense Department is looking for the best and brightest to join its ranks in serving and defending the largest alliance in Dual Universe. The Department is simple and efficient, with only two agencies:
  Joint Syndicate Defense Force (JSDF): The largest and most heavy-duty agency in the Defense Department. The JSDF has a strict chain of command dedicated to the safety of the Cinderfall Syndicate’s Member Organizations, where only the best will rise to the top.   Special Task Force (STF): This elite group of operatives executes special missions and operations requiring surgical precision and finesse. That is fine. Live and let live. I've heard excellent things about SWG, so those who wish to relive those moments from a long past game can freely do so. I'm assuming SWG had quite the in-game economy, so there's no harm in drawing a comparison. DU can take elements from that and improve on them. The process of evolution, isn't that exciting.

Terribly shocking isn't it?

So I wrote a topic on TU leaving CSyn, and got some - deserved - flak for posting up a TU quote but not a CSyn one. This was a mistake, for two reasons.
 
One: it is indeed unfair, in case of conflict, to give more "speech time" to a party than the other; I have no bias myself about this affair, it just happened that TU got in touch with me and not CSyn at the time, but I should have known better.
 
Two: quotes are for news articles; they do shed light on a situation but in such case, they are beyond the scope of my initiative, which is - as I made amply clear on several occasions - recording history and NOT writing newsfeeds.
 
So from now on, I will not be posting up any quotes anymore - though I will add Astrophil's comment on that TU/CSyn topic, it's the least I can do.
 
I will however keep looking for inside comments on any given situation, but only as personal insight-gathering.
 
Also: it looks like this Sleeper will get an early wake-up call ! Big thanks to Novaquark and the CMs for adding me to the Vanguard Alpha Team, this is a much-appreciated validation.

A thousand years before the SKiD our ancestors sailed the seas of Old Earth preying on the shipping lanes of the British Empire and any other merchants who were unlucky enough to cross paths with them. From Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard; to "Calico Jack" Rackham and Anne Bonny; to Admiral Sir Henry Morgan. These names struck fear into the hardest of hearts.
 
Pirates are not just thieves and murderers, though. We are farmers and miners and engineers and businessmen. Being a pirate in Dual Universe will be far more challenging than this profession is in any other game. Becoming a pirate will be a complete life choice, it will take cooperation and communication. Most of all, the Pirate lifestyle will take dedication. 
 
Do you have what it takes to dedicate yourself to the life of a Pirate? We will, among other activities, provide those fringe services the law-abiding folk don’t want to dirty their hands with, but do have need of- smuggling, spying, espionage, sabotage, information brokering, the opportunities are endless and limited only by what our clients are willing to ask us to do. This may include raids against settlements or bases or space stations or convoys for specific items or because our client may want that piece of land (or sector of space). We may be needed to quietly extract an asset, whether a person or a piece of gear or a ship that needs to be transported to our client’s research lab or military installation, or some neutral sector of space, maybe even to a third party station or city. Maybe someone needs revenge, but can’t carry it out themselves. We can help with that too!
 
While we are a part of the Cinderfall Syndicate, we also have some tentative agreements in place with some other organizations. As with anything, we need the game to be up and running in order to finalize these agreements. These agreements are in place for equipment, information, and an open line of communication for engaging our services.

There is an incredibly intricate political fabric buried beneath the surface, and no one can see it all.

Since your body is still there when you 'die' (you don't really, but a body is left behind), people would be able to loot your implant (you know, the thing used to define to RDMS who you are and what you 'know' skills wise).
 
With this looted implant, you could retrieve the bit that broadcasts your signature, along with RDMS data. A quick reverse engineer later would allow you to have (maybe temporarily) the ability to impersonate the implant's last owner (i.e. the guy you salvaged it from), at least from a computer's perspective.
 
How the impersonation would be limited is that it would only last for a limited amount of time once activated, due to the degrading remnants of the implant. It would also not change your appearance, so other people would recognise you as an impostor (unless you have that field covered). It would also not change your DNA, so a DNA test (like at a high security bank) would not work, instantly throwing up red flags whilst that guard next to you pulls out his gun on you (this is, unless you can fool that too, Mr Bond).

Maybe it would promote classism/pledgism...maybe? I don't see that realistically happening though.

I always like logos that are very regular and will fit into a perfect circle. It makes for easier formatting especially. I very much like the octagonal one above this post, very well designed. Cinderfall's logo is rather symbolic (perhaps not so much as the Aether's) but keeping to a relatively minimal style at the same time:
 

 
*Also, @Cybrex I've always found the BOO logo somewhat difficult to see, especially on dark backgrounds - and the honeybadger is virtually invisible. A lighter and more contrasting color scheme would be helpful in visibility. Suggestions for the design team.
