ankido
Have you ever heard of Second Life? This gives me the same concept yet you have to be a developer in order to understand this game/platform or whatever you want to call it. The tutorial is by far terrible and doesn't explain much. Then she disappears and you're left on your own. I can't for the life of me on YOUTUBE, GOOGLE, DUCKDUCKGO the whole damn internet find a way to build just one damn platform. I'm not really sold on this game but really do appreciate the concept and work put into it. I find myself having headaches and ironically it has nothing to do with bugs or being phase 1 of beta. I find that quite shocking. Within 24 hours I'm about to lay this game/platform to rest and bid it a farewell as the pain from the learning curve is ruining my mood. If someone can be so kind to help me with links, youtube or whatever means of how to build just a DAMN platform I would appreciate it. This game/platform is turning out to be not my cup of tea. adrazz
Have you been to the Guilds? There are tons of tutorials there.
ankido
All I know is that tramp tutorial sent me to a moon, made me spend all my credit to build a house and left me to rot on my tile. I had to farm resource for hours upon hours and sell in the market to buy a ship. The crafting table is confusing because I'm finding myself having to type in the search box all the time what I want and how to do it. Most industrial stuff needs a surface and that I don't have. Not sure what that Guild thing is.
Saithis
There is hardy any content on sites like youtube, becaus until a few days ago it was forbidden to post anything... Like adrazz already said, tehre is really a ton of tutorials in the starting area. Also if you already left this area, at every marketplace is a building tutorial too. (these black capsule-like things. on the ground is a pad, aim at it and press f) I admit that the game has a pretty high learning curve... I play for 3 days now and already got a nice setup (multiple M industrial thingys, M core.. all build from scratch). It helps if you have already played other games like DU (for example Space Engineers or even Factorio)

Alreya
The intro tutorial sends you to a place where all the various specialized tutorials are -- industry, building, military etc. Have you done those? On money, if you spent the money (I didn't manage that, but all I bought for the structure she asks you to build was the bare stuff and no decorations, maybe that's it, also market prices vary a bit so maybe that was what cost you so much), you get 100k per day so there's that. Also you can press F1 and read the codex, which has a lot of info in it that is skipped in the tutorials. It's basically the "manual" of the game. It's kind of like SL in some ways, but more of a game than SL was, and more PvP oriented -- SL was more of a social experience, with creation optional (most people in SL just socialized, and a lot of them were there for sex, to be honest), whereas this is a game more than a social platform, building is not optional, and it's competitive. I hope you stick around and slowly learn. I am also a learner myself at this stage, but I am enjoying the process of learning it, and perhaps since I am not in a particular hurry it makes it a bit easier for me. ankido
I saw one of the Tutorial places when I visited a market. Unfortunately, I didn't see any tutorials but sculptures of things. Right now I don't have the time in the day spending on a game with a steep learning curve. I'll wait a few months or year and hopefully learn some more. I'm a builder in Second Life. It's a metaverse client. The building concept is so easy. Wondering why they went in this direction of building. I'm a city builder and was looking forward to it. ankido
Took some time but figured out a few things. I made my first platform. I feel as though I've achieved so much in life. No joke! This was no easy task to figure it out.
Daphne Jones
It's a killer learning curve. IMO you want to get off the prison planet as soon as you can. (That would be Sanctuary where your job is breaking rocks). Realistically you have to join an org to do that. You'll have a very hard time gearing up enough to own land on Alioth by yourself. Serbet
I have wonder how I managed without YouTube ( due to NDA) and no tutorials... I have a huge factory and I build my own ships... Mystery... Ohh... By myself too... No orgs. I have no advice except small goals... Make small goals, like I need a wing... Or an engine.. If you find this game complicated then whatever you do in life from this point forward, do NOT try "From the Depths". It will melt your brain. Realistic physics with relativity. The speed of light is extremely low so we travel at nearly that speed. At higher levels, warp drives are available that cut most of the travel time (but drop you with no velocity in a predictable position in the PVP enabled area - not using that without a combat fleet escort.) aliensalmon
I came from Second Life! I discovered this game in a Second Life forum. I can see the similarities, but yeah. As someone else said, this is more of a game than Second Life.
CaptainKork
Here are the tutorials i've learned from : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3puZXotLIw&list=PLA_lhIAGheMHEw4G3PTgZBwjGITCCuH17&index=10 They are a little outdated (like u dont need gyros anymore, and the gui looks different) but most stuff still works the same. And for something more recent, this guy seems to make pretty good and compact tuts : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJO_2aFwmYc
