Warden got a reaction from SirJohn85 in Role play Tag
Despite being no IT or coding expert, I think it's safe to say that many can agree that these simple (in comparison) changes don't take excessively too much effort to get into the game compared to other even more required things.
Now for the "passive roleplayers" crowd, as dev you always have it easy IF you provide them with a few basic tools and certain emotes: they mostly generate their own content.
It would almost be unclever to not give them a little bit of care, you potentially bind players a long time.

Technology can fix it.
Why do you often hear combat sounds in large space battles in sci-fi movies? Viewer enjoyment, it would be different any other way.
Smart technology could in theory simulate relatively fitting sounds, thus explaining all of that stuff. It would help because we're used to audio feedback and in turn it would actually be helpful with the peripherals and whatnot. Something "explodes" nearby? You'd hear it and be aware.

Warden reacted to Violet in Freedom? How about No: -Kuritho
Haha. Yeah, its pretty ridiculous just because someone can write a nice bit of lore and do some fancy graphics doesn't mean they are going to be a good leader.
If you want to be "free" then playing as a freelancer is going to be your deal, I suspect that most orgs will be relying on freelancers to fill a lot of the gaps when they need to gather a lot of resources for a project and getting an income from renting out "safe houses" to non org players.
Inevitably though, if you want to do anything more than just survive and not be so completely vulnerable to bandits you have to work with other players and working with others means giving up some freedoms. What is the point of an org that does not place some duties on its members? This is the essence of it. The more an org asks of its members, and the better it inspires people to work together the more sucessful it will become, people will want to give up their freedoms to be part of a successful organisation.

I can only suggest to consider this for the roadmap at one point that is perhaps not too long after release.
The advantages can be seen in games with local VOIP and where you can meet random players. I like to think it's the same topic with the logos - there is room for potential abuse or annoyance but bottom line, more people benefit from this I like to think.
You could add mechanics that allow "quick muting" - for example by local VOIP you can see who is talking and mute individual players.

Warden got a reaction from Vyz Ejstu in 「Vulture Corporation」 [Security - Science - Service | International ☑ - Immersion ☑]
Greetings,
This is what I dug out just now. It's quite a bit older and could use some work. It was designed for the Repopulation team but given that project's turn, we'll likely never see the planet Atlas again.
Perhaps you have some experience with the creation of multimedia? Perhaps, you are possibly interested in joining a small team and help it grow further?
Everything has potential pros and cons; large and small organizations - all with their niche.
Many projects here show that dedication to a cause can create something nice, something that could last. You can take part in that creative process and you'll certainly be proud once you look back at the achievements. Larger organizations may have it easier, but achieving success in a small team that works together well just has a slightly different rewarding touch to it. At least that is what I thoroughly believe. Why? Our experience in Minecraft has taught and shown us how it can be if a relatively small team achieves great things and rises to the top in a server community. Could this be achieved again?
That is uncertain and depends on many factors. But it is not even required. What matters is the fulfilling journey in good and bad times. Will it be easy? Not at all. In smaller teams, each individual member bears more responsibility on average. But that just makes it more rewarding for the right people. Perhaps you are among those.
If you are interested, send a private message. Of course, you can also inquire via PM or here if you have questions or feedback.
Thanks for your attention.

Warden reacted to Code24 in Objective Driveyards - Aerospace Corporation [Recruiting]
English All 78
Objective Driveyards is a corporate-state established in the evolving world of Dual Universe. We aim to design ships that combine elegance and efficiency with a readiness for the cold-blooded nature of interstellar warfare. We will bring an array of premier spacecraft to the marketplace: battle-tested by our navy and refined by an organized team of engineers and designers.
The Corporation relies on teamwork and structure to succeed, and thus operates as a meritocracy. The corporation is led by the CEO and a Council of three directors. Corporate assets are divided into three main branches; each responsible for a major aspect of Corporate operations and manned by specialists with appropriate skills. Each branch is independent to a degree but ultimately answer to the Council.
CEO - Code24
Objective Dynamics
Leader: Head Technocrat, Croomar
The scientific branch of the Corporation, lead by a head Technocrat. This branch develops tech, designs blueprints, programs systems, conducts exploration, and tech mining. Blueprints can be designed on contract to be sold to other factions, or strictly for corporate use.
Researcher - Develops new designs and blueprints to be tested and refined.
Explorer - Lone wolf pilots looking to explore under a Corporate Charter.
Programmer - Specialist skilled in scripting advanced systems with LUA
Objective Industries
Leader: Director of Industry, BliitzTheFox
The circulatory and digestive system of the Corporation, controlled by a Director who is part of the Corporate Council. This branch is responsible for mining and refining raw materials, manufacturing components and equipment, and ultimately constructing ships. While the Navy controls most of the Corporate fleet, Indi Ops controls most of the Corporate shipyards. Ships and equipment produced by this branch are first researched and designed by the R&D branch. Indi Ops can also manufacture hulls and equipment to be sold on contract to other factions.
Miner - Raw resource extraction.
Technician - Refining and manufacturing.
Engineer - Industrial construction/development.
Shipwright - Shipyard operation, starship construction.
Marketer - Promotes and sells products, conducts market research
Objective Navy
Leader: Stategos, Sgt.Toothpaste
As the military branch, the Navy is responsible for protecting Corporate interests from external threats. The Navy is lead by the Strategos, one of the members of the Corporate Council and the highest ranking officer within the fleet. The Navy controls the majority of the Corporate Fleet and draws from Corporate personnel with skills particular to any and all aspects of combat. These roles can include:

It's been an interesting month so far - I dare say it's a sign of great things to come.
With two new members and good subjects to talk about, a revamped Forums site and Christmas just round the corner, the spirit of the season is well at work.
The Aether also had the pleasure of welcoming two new members. Needless to say, she's had her hands full and new members are bright stars in the night sky.
We welcome Tatsunobu and Brucie22 to the Aether.
Welcome to the Family.

It's somewhat saddening (to me) that people usually see the problems and would rather avoid things than try them out.
Of course you are completely right - the potential is there. But at the same time, many would benefit from something like this, adding spice or immersion to their areas.
In G-Mod this works well. Players can place radios (or speakers, forms vary) and use any audio file they can upload in certain places. For example we added heavy construction site sounds such as drilling to a construction site and it fit quite well.
Or you could play propaganda broadcasts or just news over the speakers. Perhaps allowing this in player controlled areas with a way of "accountability" (holding players responsible if they abuse it by showing what player placed a speaker or uploaded a certain file) would make it a relatively safe thing to use.

Not much to report.
We have updated our promotional website (»www.vulturecorp.space) and changed a few things here and there. It's slightly better now and the career section has some additional information. As always, work is never done.
We're also more specifically looking to fill certain positions now. However, this mostly affects Star Citizen, with DU being relatively far away at this point and more of an abstract value.
