  1. I think they already said somewhere that it's the size it will be at release, not sure 100% though. Clicking a button for hours is boring, maybe not for you, but for most people. You'll spend a lot of time scanning for resources, transporting and refining those, so at the end of the day, you still have a lot of gameplay, but more fun and various.
  2. I'm just saying that an exponential increase doesn't work, because people will just create alts to hold land and they'll not pay that amount. So at that point it's better to have a costant increment.

  4. Taxes exponentially growing the more land you own is a good choice for the safezone (not for pvp zones though). Still, it can be abused by giving ownerships to alts or friends to reduce the exponential increment, so they need to find a solution for that.
  5. I didn't use MS Paint, nor those sketches are meant to be detailed and accurate, but to add colour and to help visualize things. This is not an art thread to discuss about the sketches, so please keep it clean.
  6. Roverbike Claw Model [C-1] We at Golden Fox Division do not just develop combat vessels. ( even if it would be nice to add a machine gun on top of this, right? ) The C-1 model purpose is to provide each member with basic means of moving from one waypoint to another, quickly and safely. A roverbike will be granted freely to everyone. Hovers usage and its light body keep the power consumption low and the speed high. A few elements will provide basic informations of the surroundings for security purposes and information gathering. This particular model is able to hold up to 2 passengers.

  8. You should be able to obtain the same results with the building tools already in the game.
  9. As much as I can understand most of you not wanting player-made content infos in the wiki, I don't think this idea applies well for DU, since mostly what is made of. After all a wiki is just a place to share informations and players will read what they're interested in anyway: if they're looking for informations about Cybrex or about the CoreUnit it's not our matter. That said, I'd like to see an innovative wiki for an innovative game
  10. Medium Dropship series [M-D X] The M-D Series consists of a variety of dropships, each tweaked and equipped for different purposes. Each ship would use its speed to quickly deploy troops, ammunitions and equipment in contested areas, while fighter escort drew away enemy fire. Outrunning enemy air cover, it could even get behind enemy lines to assist troop movements that were otherwise cut off from support. This design also has applications for transport contracts for small but valuable cargo. Weapons and defensive modules will be limited, aswell as the cargo bay, in order to achieve unmatched speed. There'll be both atmospheric and space version.

  12. Medium Scout Ship [M-SS 1] Design The M-SS 1 will accommodate a Scout Team, from 3 to 5 players, and will be equipped for multi-day long range missions. High-level propulsion engines will let you reach your targets quickly, as well as allow for a quick escape in case of danger, all while also mantaining very low power consumption thanks to its reduced mass. The weaponry system will be basic however the armor will be placed strategically to protect important elements (that is the purpose of the wings). In addition the small onboard hangar comes equipped with a rover for ground inspections, and some spy drones.
  13. 1. If you upload a custom image/sound, that file (or any kind of information) is stored in your PC, it means that noone else can see or hear it. If you want other people to experience those, the server would need to download the files from your pc, and send the information to all the other players in a certain range. This clearly consumes bandwith and slow down the servers, expecially if your construct has a high number of custom voxels/images/sounds/whatever, or if there's a high number of players the server has to send the informations to. That's simply not feasible and not in line with the scope of the game, that aims to be massively multiplayer. That's why we only have premade voxels/elements/images and sounds, already in the game files that everyone has: other players PC already know most of the "object" informations, the servers just need to send the position information and not much else. At most, they may allow for a limited number of images (like 1), to be placed on a single construct. Other than that, there's a problem about copyrights, and malicious images (racists, sexual, ...) they can't verify automatically or manually (requires too much manpower for little gain). 2.     In the april devdiary the fuel tank is not empty. Raw materials for fuel will likely be gathered from the ground as a resource i suppose, then you'll need to process those

    Distance Tool

    Would be cool to have a tool when building to measure the distance between voxels, so that is easier to create spheres, circles or other curves. At the same time is very useful just to measure the lenght of your ship, wings and other parts, so that we don't have to count the voxel manually (and lose count inevitably 10 times before getting it right).
  17. GFD will feature a Research Lab to be able to develop high-quality custom designs for a large variety of roles and purposes. We also have partners that will help us on this matter, so that we can focus better on our main job: PVP. (Those images are only concepts and ideas that may or may not be built in the game). The Research Lab is likely going to be built underground (inside a mountain) and its entrance hidden, in order to mantain an high level of security, especially against spies. Internally there'll be a large central zone, for testing, designing, building, storage and assets management, with a few tunnels that will lead to strategic exit gates on the tile. On the outer circle, a few service buildings for the scientists.

    Drones manually piloted are likely going to be added at some point. Only automated drones won't be possible. You can build what you want, rockets included (no collision damage though)
  19. In the Golden Fox Division, we look for simple ways to manage, organize, and look after our members to maximize our efficiency. At the beginning, there'll be 5 different roles. This may change in the future, depending on our player count we'll adapt accordingly: -Director: leader of GFD. -Officers: they support the director in the managing of GFD. -Team Captains: Each of them is responsible for his team, its related assets and the completion of missions entrusted to him. Each team specialize in a different aspect of the game: scouting, combat, logistic. -Members: Trusted players who have been within the organization for a while. Each of them can be part of 1 or more teams. -Recruits: new players, under observation. Despite the ranks, needed for management reasons, we're always open for discussions and the opinions of our players will be always important to us.
  20. The Golden Fox Division is an indipendent elite PVP organization. Our goal is to become one of the best small-medium sized PVP groups in the game. We mantain a specific size limit policy to promote high levels of efficiency, coordination and control. Our focus is combat and anything related or useful for that scope. This also means that we'll put great effort into ship designing, information gathering and LUA. We plan to make deals with larger groups to also take part into large scale conflicts.   21. You can't disassemble a ship made with a blueprint, just add stuff on it. You'd need to slowly take out chunks of voxels using weapons (it's not even a reliable way, since it doesn't remove 1 voxel at a time but chunks, and partially cut voxels with dual contouring), wasting a lot of time and resources that you could have better spent building one on your own, hiring someone to do it or buying a master blueprint.

  23. Mining by hand is necessary to make the game work, while dumping dirt and rocks is not. There's nothing wrong with underground bases, you still have to mine to make them, forcing players to dump the materials they get somewhere is an uneffective way to stop them and ruins the environment, since people will just dump ugly blocks around on the surface. The mining and the dumping have a similar load on the servers: the difference is that one is a core needed game mechanic with a purpose, while the other is a useless feature, just for the sake of realism, that damages gameplay, aesthetics of planets and servers performance.
  24. Not many infos about that. We just know that technologies will require a large amount of time to discover, so there'll definitely be some kind of timesink, so the best guess is that will be similar to eve. Regarding the amount of time, to discover techs to build and pilot the first basic ship at release, will likely require something like 2-6 weeks, so you get the idea.
