    Postponed is different than cancelled.

The NBA season was postponed last year.

And it is still planned.  It's not like they suddenly said, "we decided we aren't going to have PVP and well AvA is to hard so we will only have premade constructs allowed from our very small selection.

Of course, AvA is a recurring event that takes place annually, I forgot...

But anyway, we'll see what comes.

I'm looking forward to Ashes of Creation now.

Same. One of the few games that has an idea that can convince and is already financially secured, KS was just extra money, as the ceo said.

You have no facts.  Yes NQ said they will have an end goal of AvA.  Now are we anywhere near that end goal?  No.  Have they violated any of the terms set forth in the kickstarter or on their sales page? No.

There is a difference between speculation, assumptions and facts.  Right now you have an abundance of the first two and none of the last.

AvA was postponed without a date after release. That's a fact. Don't explain to me what facts are.

It's only a matter of time what we see this year.

If you feel that way.  Good luck proving that in court.  I am no lawyer but I can already tell you that claim by itself carries about as much weight in court as trying to sue NASA for allegedly faking the moon landings.

There are specialists who are happy to take care of this. Law firms have already specialised in KS cases.

This is not a matter of feeling, but of facts. If I see that AvA is a main goal of KS and this is not adhered to, then there are problems. And that is the reason why NQ gives a bad image to crowdfunding platforms. Games like Pantheon, Ashes of Creation and the other mmorpg would have surely benefited more from it. And now you have to look at rubbish like this.

CCP wasn't a AAA developer 18 years ago when EVE was in beta and they lost one of their first CMs.

But you do realise that NQ has lost more than one CM in the last few months?

And the lack of support at the weekend?

And that the game designer of Eve left after 8 months, who was praised so highly in a news report?

And nearly 40% left according to the linked in statement from someone a few ago here in the forum?

You're probably entitled to your refund if it's taken within two weeks of an online purchase in the EU or if you've played less than, say, a dozen hours.

Have you played longer than a dozen hours? Then sure, you'd like your refund. But you're probably not entitled to one.

Reminds me of all the people clamouring for refunds from Kickstarters when the device doesn't launch... Never bet what you can't afford/don't want to lose.

If the Kickstarter goals are no longer met and are not what they were promised to be, you can bet your ass that NQ will get a legal complaint.

    Best example here: https://www.mmorpg.com/news/chronicles-of-elyria-lawsuit-files-complaint-2000120863

And then portraying NQ as a scammer is already enough. :)

Just because a CM leaves doesn't mean the game is dying.  How many CMs has  CCP been through for EVE?  How many CMs has WOW been through?  How many CMs has Star Citizen been through?

It is a position that is very volatile and people come and go in it and move on to other jobs.

You're comparing triple AAA and established developers with an indie studio?

  7. According to the wiki list, no mmo based on this engine has been released yet. All of them were either cancelled or stopped being worked on. I guess you will have a hard time finding qualified and affordable developers.

To your bonus question: Why? You want to jump from one crowdfunded game to the next, even though you have burnt your fingers on DU ? Even though I may be stepping on the toes of one or two SC fanboys and fangirls, the game has been in development for 8 years now, sometimes more, sometimes less progress.  It doesn't really offer you "building in open-space" too.

I would look at some alternatives like Starbase. Otherwise, I don't know what's currently hot except for the early access games on steam.

  8. I am not sure which standard you mean. NQ has never done anything visible with people's feedback. I have also noted elsewhere:

For what used to be a frequent presence of the CEO in some form, be it video blog, interviews, AMA, streams or whatever, it has become incredibly quiet. No, I don't count "what's to come" video as part of that. Because that's a mandatory video for a new year. In the past, JC was much more tangible. Today it's just a name you hear. At least for me.

And based on the facts that many new faces are seen in NQ and old ones left, I assume that there is a higher than average fluctuation. One could assume that 0.23 has significantly hurt them, considering that weekend support is being discontinued and that you see a lot of new faces on Starbase saying they are from DU.

They don't even bother to announce the winner of the Valentine's Day building event here in the forum.

Personally, I don't know how you can call this professional communication towards a paying clientele.

nice try in insulting me random guy on the internet, try harder

yes and that's why it would have been in NQs interest to have such mechanics and regulations BEFORE the start of beta. no use now tho, because you don't have any such rules and regulations.

Ergo, as a paying customer and reaching out to support, it's not really hard for NQ to figure out that these things will happen and ppl will ask them to undo them. Support has all the info it needs (core ID, sees who built there, last login time, player ids and so on) so I don't really see a problem here - it's only really problematic if they dont have all that info. which would be pretty stupid.

So yes, Support could ask the guys superlegate to write to this ticket too and then just help them and resolve it - THAT would be appropriate if there are no mechanics in place to resolve such issues in the first place.

I remember them saying that they also store world changes too, should someone get the idea of making a phallus-like creation out of earth.

I doubt there is a Lua exploit.  It is just a lot of ships running Lua in the same area.  Perhaps people should run less Lua and get better at doing things themselves.

Or NQ fixes its crap and doesn't restrict a feature that was once so highly touted.

It can't be that everything collapses when a handful of ships fight each other.

So all I've seen is people bitching in forums, bitching in Discord...about the status of the game....and hey, if you're not having fun, bitching about stuff is not very useful, so......use your 'IMAGINATION'!!! You have a building game, where you can build anything you want....so build a giant middle finger L core ship if you're mad, huge tile sized billboards, giant ass to moon the planet with, get creative! This can all be done in game, and you can have fun doing it, instead of bitching.GO BUILD SOMETHING....and express yourself. Remember you have Reddit, Twitter, Forums, Discord....all to post screens of your 'PROTEST' so go get creative, because the bitching is monotonous and boring!

    Sincerely,

    President Porco

I see no reason to keep any numbers artificially high. The people who see my memes don't play anymore.

So why put energy into something that doesn't matter in the end?

    Edit:

I uploaded my memes from 2019 after it was announced that AvA was postponed indefinitely post-release.

No one is asking for this, right now, in this state.

We are discussing about the challenges to implement PVE in DU.

An academic discussion that NQ can read in 2028 when they decide to make DU 3.

So, yes, we did answer your question.

Well, you haven't really answered any question. OP just said he wants it in the roadmap, which will make it more concrete.

But well, I guess it's just another thread that will join the many other npc threads already created during 2016-2020 when it has no relevance today.

That does not mean "no one answered your question".

Just means you are out of arguments.

I'm not quite sure what you're alluding to now, but if you're speaking on behalf of op and think you have any say at all here, then you should sit down first and not dictate to people what topic is being discussed.

For instance, more peaceful organizations, which I feel the majority are at the moment, will have a need to protect their shipments, even when they avoid the pipes.

What prevents people from hiring organisations that do mercenary work?

Personally, I couldn't think of what you could add at the moment that would promote PVP.

Territorial warfare (battle for tiles and atmospheric pvp inc.) and AvA (Avatar vs Avatar) would be 2 things that would immediately come to mind. One is supposed to come soon.

So I suggested a whole aspect that hasn't even been made yet in the game, PVE. There are PVE players who just are just forced doing PVP until such a thing happens.
I'll be frank, I'm more of a PVE player. I don't go out and shoot people often, and when I do I'm with an org with 8~ other people in the seat of the ship I fly. I think it would be great for solo players to have an "in" for some form of combat. I play EVE as a solo player doing purely PVE because I can't compete in the PVP space, personally speaking. (I haven't played EVE for a while)

I can't help but think that, in the current state, PVE could be great, if done right.
(Though, I feel like PVE is still at least a year or more away in the current state of the game)

In principle, there is nothing against PvE. I'm primarily weighing up what was said during the Kickstarter campaign about what should be in place for the release. I just wonder how you imagine it exactly, since the safe zones are supposed to be around 20km and everything after that is actually pvp and no longer "pve" in this sense.

I also enjoy flora and fauna and would be happy to see that, but I knew then that it would not be a priority. If you now put the resources, energy and money into PvE, they lose the focus of the game in my eyes.

But otherwise, definitely. I'm totally with you and, in a long term view, would totally get behind your idea. But definitely not before official launch.

Op an I already decided to continue this discussion as a academic debate instead of a current feature request.

And I've decided that I don't give a damn about what you decided in this post.

There's nothing safe about it. BOO can drop in at any moment and do a cleanup on what NPC pirates already did. For instance, if a fleet is dispatched to take out a FOB, BOO could come in mid-fight because some intel was leaked to them about the position.

So far, no one has answered my question: Why do we need this in this state? If we already have pirates, in this case as players, why not put in the features that expand that first instead of opening a barrel and developing an AI?

I am not against an npc faction. But not in the current state. The game has completely different problems at the moment. I base this on the fact that I see in the Starbase introduction channel that many come from Dual Universe.
