  1. That is awesome. I'm really looking forward to this dynamic. I'm envisioning epic moments where a battleship or space station is damaged and about to crash land on a planet, and the heroic Captain stays behind to keep it stable long enough for the escape pods to make it out!
  2. They probably should have specified this more clearly, and I don't think they have put anything out on it directly. If I had to guess I would say the names will behave a lot like they do in EVE: The names of characters on the same account don't have to be related. No requirement for a last name. This is just a guess though.
  3. Look in any of the interviews, kickstarter updates, the game's website, or the numerous identical threads on the forum: Alpha is first half of 2017. Beta is first half of 2018. Release is late 2018 or possibly early 2019. I don't mean to be rude, but people post the same questions over and over again without bothering to look for the answers. Welcome to the community by the way.
  4. I could see weather effects being added, but that would definitely be later on down the road. I like the idea of having some planets (not all, just maybe one or two per system) that are really savage and hard to live on, but have much better resources.
  5. Didn't "Sausage Party" teach us anything? The only way to be pure is to never eat anything at all ever again!
  6. If artists wear Sketchers, do linguists wear Converse?
  7. Welcome to the community o7 I think you will find lots of like minded people here. We are all pretty friendly so feel free to ask questions and get to know people. We are glad to have you here.
  8. Hey Aeon o/ Welcome to DU! And I agree with Lethys: BOO is probably a good place for you. BOO has an active EVE Alliance and do roams on a fairly regular basis. There also several other groups that might match what you are looking for, so I recommend looking around, meeting people and asking questions. Fly safe o7
  9. The Cantonese Couch Cobra is a cunning and patient hunter, which is mostly found in Southern China, although it has been becoming much more prevalent in the continental United States. The Couch Cobra first finds its way between the couch cushions of an unsuspecting victim. The Couch Cobra then waits for a human victim to sit on the couch. Once the victim has seated themselves, the Couch Cobra gets to work feeding off of the food that the human brings with it. This means that the Couch Cobra mostly feeds on chips, beef jerky, popcorn and nachos. The Couch Cobra will wiggle and writhe under the couch cushions to give then sensation of being massaged to its victim. It will also make sure that the remote stays close at hand and that the TV's volume is at the perfect level. The most common cause of death for Couch Cobras is being crushed to death by the ever increasing weight of their victim. The Couch Cobra's primary natural enemy is the Female Companion who will attack the Couch Cobra's food supply with such things as "Get off the couch and go do something" and "Don't eat in the living room, I just vacuumed in here."
  10. If a honey badger isn’t in the mood to make its own bed, it’s not shy about making itself at home in someone else’s residence. The creatures have been known to get comfortable in the dens of aardvarks or in the tunnels of foxes, mongooses, or springhares. (Really any crevice or hole will do for the honey badger.) They’re really good at adapting: The animals are usually diurnal in winter, but where they need to avoid humans, they’re usually nocturnal.

This could be fun in Alpha/Beta, when nothing matters, but in the actually release there is no way that all the orgs or even a large majority will show up to a pointless bloodbath. Wars and epic battles will happen but they will be emergent. And there will be no world resets. Things that get destroyed are gone for good
  12. If you got alpha or beta access through the kickstarter then yes. The Alpha starts mid 2017.
  13. Yeah we will see how that works out ... I'm am anxious to see how the F2P option works out.
  14. Seconded. And might I add, fun times are already being had! On the first frigate roam we almost killed a carrier! So join in and join the good times.
  15. He should get some sort of award for that haha Spam happens, and jokes were made. It all evens out. Though I'm glad you apologized, shows character. +1 respect for you.
  16. >Claims he found evidence of corruption >Vaguely references this evidence and threatens to leak it >People say, go ahead leak it > Doesn't leak it > Someone else leaks it > "Lol n00b ur leeks don't mean anything Im teh real spai" I say: GGNMPC (Good Game, Need More PopCorn) *claps hands*
  17. You say that as if any of those things are bad things. Excessive antagonism will be handled by NQ under the ToS, anything else is just content.
  18. I play EVE. I love the politics, the market, and the depth of gameplay/social experience. I hope the same kind of epic stories come from DU, and I think they will. Perhaps even more so if DU is more customize-able, which it looks like it will be. Even the drama and intrigue that has arisen so far is impressive considering the game isn't even in alpha yet and people are having pseudo wars already haha. I dislike how entrenched things are in EVE. It is hard for a few people to come in and just make a little space for themselves without one of the larger groups wiping them out, which means that if you want to play you basically have to conform to the bigger groups. The world can also start to feel a bit small sometimes. I wish there was a way to go down on the planets as well, but that's a minor wish. All in all it's a great game and I hope DU is as good as, if not better than, EVE.
  19. I mean ... make all the laws you want but no one is going to follow them. Even the "law abiding people" who might support their creation would break the laws the second it became convenient for them.
