So... if I ignore this games' organising thingie... does that mean I give no dice?

Hello. My name is Eminio and many of you may know me. A few months ago, I joined Dual Secure to try and help repair their relationships with the rest of the community. It was an uphill battle but I have stuck with it. I have done my best to be on good terms with the other members of the community despite the trouble of the leader mmtheboss constantly going out of his way to upset people.
 
I noticed a number of things that were off about this group but decided to stick with it, despite:
 
The large amount of fake accounts that were used to pretend like the organization is rapidly growing. By comparing the community site member lists to the discord users, I believe that there are at least 10 - 15 fake accounts that were created for the explicit purpose of inflating numbers. The repeated reneging on statements by mmtheboss. Namely, stating that he would stop spamming people.  The group allowed and condoned exchanging political power for inappropriate material, and denigrated users who refused to participate. Screenshots below :  
 
He offered to promoted me if I sent them nudes, and then insulted me when I refused.
 
 
In addition they attack people and claim them as "slaves", as well as censoring and attacking any idea that they don't like. 
 
 
Now, after the group has been hit by yet another spy attack, mmtheboss has been attacking and accusing anyone and everyone who would listen, all with out evidence. Now, after I have stood silently by for too long, he turns on me and accuses me without evidence. I will not take this laying down. I am resigning from both The Void Republic and Dual Secure, effective immediately.
 
He attacks his own people for no reason.  Here is his accusation against me. Note the lack of proof and unprofessional attitude. He just attacks me for no reason.

Howdy folks! 
Hope you are all having a swell week/weekend!

Just a quick update - I am still alive and tracking data, I just haven't been posting due to other commitments and being away from home. I will begin regular posting again early this coming week (Monday/Tuesday).

Definitely been some interesting movement in the charts, just hasn't been posted (sorry!).

On the community site, we should have the ability to make orgs that are members of orgs. Numbers of members is calculated by adding up the total number of members of each org.
To my knowledge this will be possible in game and then we could more accurately represent larger organizations. For instance, Cinderfall Syndicate would include all cinderfall organizations and staff, rather than relying on players to join multiple orgs, they are automatically added to the count of both when they join a cinderfall organization.

I would like to give my acceptance speech, to reassure all the members who may be worried by the sudden transition of power. This is not a time to be divided, but a time to come together. Mmmtheboss worked hard as your leader, and we all owe him our thanks for his hard work, for laying the foundation, but just as the scaffolding for a building is different than the structure of its foundation, so too must the future of The Void Republic be different than its past! The people have spoken and it is time for new leadership! A new administration! 
 
 
 
Of course, being as I am still first and foremost dedicated to my other responsibilities, there are going to be some changes around here to bring The Void Republic in line with the greater community. Policy changes, position reshuffling, the works. This will only be beneficial to the citizens of the Void Republic.
 
People of The Void Republic, you have been let down by your leaders. For too long, they have betrayed you and soiled your reputations. They have left your borders (and channels) open and unprotected, letting trolls and spies walk among you, belittling you and degrading your image and your self esteem. I will cast out the spies and push out the trolls. I will develop new propaganda and memes, so that when the enemy makes jokes, we can respond in kind, with pride and self-respect. I will repair the shattered reputation of The Void Republic and it's member groups. I will make the community respect us, respect all of you for your hard work. I have an amazing reputation in the community, really, it's just terrific. So I will make yours great, just fantastic.
 
We are going to build a space wall and make Terran Union pay for it! We are going to stop all our jobs from being outsourced to the Solar Empire, and put Void Republic citizens back to work! We are going to defeat the enemy! 
 
We are going to MAKE THE VOID REPUBLIC GREAT AGAIN!

For some parts of the world, the holidays are coming up for most of us. Just want to take the time to remind everyone to reach out to old friends, loved ones, and even strangers. Tell them you appreciate them and love them. Holidays are the worst time of the year for suicides, and sometimes all it takes is a phone call to remind someone that others love them.
 
Besides the sappy stuff, get drunk, party, kick your cat, and crap in your family members stockings. Share the love, be safe while traveling, and always bring your towel with you.

Let's leave the year 2016 and i'm ready for ...

 

a new year full of expectations, excitement and the first opening for some user of dual universe. Woo! To the new year 2017.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR

There is little point in asking that now. A person brought out a very exceptional point to me.
 
People are interested in the game due to a key number of aspects. You can categorize their interests and figure out which groups will be dedicated. Allow me to point these groups out.
 
Group A(Let's call them the "Interested Hobby" Group.)
 
Group Interested Hobby is interested in this fine game because it's simply something interesting. They may play Minecraft or Space Engineers and want to take a loot, due to it aligning with what they like in video games. So they'll likely join DU for a little while and pick some things up. Maybe serve to make a little bit of progress but more likely than not, they will eventually quit. 
 
This is because they don't align with the demographic of what DU is expected to be. People who are willing to dive into the game head first, spend a fair amount of time investing into it, and then create a slot in the game. Some might stay because they have found a new interest, however those banking on an old one will likely leave in time.
 
Group B(Let's call them the "Buyers" Group)
 
So the Buyers group is likely to buy a DAC, play the game for a little while, and then quit. These people could be the ones you see on Steam going through and buying something, only to play it once and never see it again. These could also very well be the people who play with the free two weeks or the limited skill tree(I think they went for the two week trial), and then just simply don't get any further. 
 
Group C(Let's call them the "Player" Group)
 
Now the player group will likely comprise of the actual players. For instance, people who are active on the forums and community now. These will probably comprise of the people actually in the game so I expect them to be somewhat noteworthy. They might make footholds for themselves. Maybe create a movement. These are the people who you should expect to see upon arrival into the game and who you want to make good friends with. At least not turn them against you.
 
The community is somewhat interesting already, as we have entered into a section where rivalries, attacks, alliances, trusts, and so forth are already being formed. One of the reasons why you don't want to tick people off to say the least. 
 
 
That's just an oversimplification of the groups you might expect to see in game. After all, we are just in Pre-Alpha with none of us actually being able to play even a close to completed product. A lot of work will go into it and we can expect the devs to feature more for us once we get closer.

The scientific branch of the Corporation, lead by a head Technocrat. This branch develops tech, designs blueprints, programs systems, conducts exploration, and tech mining. Blueprints can be designed on contract to be sold to other factions, or strictly for corporate use.
 
Researcher - Develops new designs and blueprints to be tested and refined.
Explorer - Lone wolf pilots looking to explore under a Corporate Charter.
Programmer - Specialist skilled in scripting advanced systems with LUA

Leader: Director of Industry, BliitzTheFox
 
The circulatory and digestive system of the Corporation, controlled by a Director who is part of the Corporate Council. This branch is responsible for mining and refining raw materials, manufacturing components and equipment, and ultimately constructing ships. While the Navy controls most of the Corporate fleet, Indi Ops controls most of the Corporate shipyards. Ships and equipment produced by this branch are first researched and designed by the R&D branch. Indi Ops can also manufacture hulls and equipment to be sold on contract to other factions.
 
Miner - Raw resource extraction.
Technician - Refining and manufacturing.
Engineer - Industrial construction/development.
Shipwright - Shipyard operation, starship construction.
Marketer - Promotes and sells products, conducts market research
 
 

 
Objective Navy
 
Leader: Stategos, Sgt.Toothpaste
 
As the military branch, the Navy is responsible for protecting Corporate interests from external threats. The Navy is lead by the Strategos, one of the members of the Corporate Council and the highest ranking officer within the fleet. The Navy controls the majority of the Corporate Fleet and draws from Corporate personnel with skills particular to any and all aspects of combat. These roles can include:
 
Pilot - Pilot specializing in either strike craft or larger warships.
Commander - Officer in command of a large, crewed warship.
Crew - Entry level warship crew, manning the critical stations on larger vessels.
Security - Infantry unit skilled in ground combat.
Combat Engineer - Field engineer skilled in building/repairing constructs in combat situations.

The problem has been fixed, so please, ignore that post and consider this my entry.

ODS Ganymede, prototype and lead ship of the Ganymede Class Assault Frigate, operating ahead flank propulsion during mobility trials near the Haedus Terminal shipyards, Alioth system. In concert are a flight of Valgard Class space superiority fighters, tasked with monitoring the test and gathering telemetry for later analysis. The trial was a success, and the Ganymede Class went on to become a mainstay sub-capital combat ship within several ODY affiliated entities. The vessel represented a significant evolution of compact, lightweight structural design and armor doctrine
 
 
Here is my submission. This was a lot of fun to make, and my first Blender project so I'm glad this contest gave me an excuse to learn it. 
Credit to Sgt.Toothpaste for helping me out by making the particle effects for the engine trails and adding a colorful description. 

I'm seeing a lot of people associating the noble lifestyle choice of Piracy with low-class griefing. This is completely untrue. While some pirates may be griefers and some griefers may be pirates, Piracy is not Griefing.
 
Griefing is the simple act of doing something to anger someone. Destroy a project or what have you.
 
Piracy is a way of life. We provide those fringe services you may not be able to find through completely legal means. We also provide completely illegal services to law-abiding citizens who may have need of our particular skills. Smuggling, spying, espionage, sabotage, information brokering, to name a few of these services. We get our hands dirty so yours stay clean in the public eye.

What is the competition?: This is a art/digital art competition for the best looking space themed design you can create. This includes anything that can pass for a construct in Dual Universe, including but not limited to buildings, ships, hovercraft, space stations etc. It must be your own creation and must be made especially for this competition. In game screenshots and 3D modelling tools are allowed as long as the design is your own.
