You know Twerk, while I agree with your opinion that he should have googled it first, that kind of response is not going to get him interested and invested into this game.

That is because there's only one shard, that which we all play on (As I'm sure you know). As for not knowing who role-plays and who does not, you're looking in the wrong place. Go to the organization page, and scroll through the hundreds of organizations that are listed. Find one that does RP, and join them. Problem solved.

I can answer this The answer is that the extreme cold on hoth prevented most ships from functioning successfully out in the cold, for periods longer than just transport ships fleeing. The snowspeeders were indeed adapted ships (As most of their stuff is), outfitted the best the rebels could to work in the cold, but they occasionally still had problems. Would they work on Tatooine? Maybe, but they'd probably need to install specialized filters to keep the sand out of the engine.

I propose Battle Royale. Somebody/Some-people make a giant stadium, and every org send somebody in to fight. Everybody watching gets Space-Popcorn.

Currently there's not much we can except point fingers. You could also PM the mods, as I did, but that might get tedious. Maybe one day we'll get a report button that is specifically only for if the org broke the naming rules. (No salty reports if one of their members made you explode.)

Kind of, yeah. Where similar minded freelancers can come together and work together if they choose, or just take part in the selling out of their skills to others portion. Practically no rules, aside from a very simple one.

Ever seen the thing where hundreds of people are playing one game of Civ 6? They've got it set up where you can campaign to be mayor of a town, run for mayor, if you're mayor you vote to decide what government policies to adopt? I saw it scrolling through facebook once, as a shared link, but I can't seem to find the link anywhere. It was crazy how complicated it was.

CommanderLouiz got a reaction from Anaximander in Limiting Script Automation will Hinder Economic Growth
That isn't even what full automation would look like. After all, he's still gotta check and make sure the asteroid hasn't run out, cycle the ore to the orca, probably send an ore freighter in on another alt to pull the ore out of the Orca, and make sure he's not being attacked.

Full automation would eliminate all of that too, making it even worse/pointless for new players. (Except the enemy part, that's always going to be a threat)

CommanderLouiz reacted to NQ-Nyzaltar in Question about the Organization portal
    Hi everyone!

While there are indeed some possible abuses at the moment, this will be addressed in the near future when the community will receive his next update.
In the mean time, here are the rules (based on common sense) for this topic:
    - Using protected brands from the real world as name of Dual Universe organizations is forbidden.
    - While the Novaquark team doesn't want to limit drastically the number of organizations per player, please keep the number of organizations you create to the ones you really intend to play in. If too many organizations are created by a same person with the clear intent of "name squatting", there is a very high chance the Novaquark team will delete them (the deletion will be decided by the Novaquark team, on a case by case basis).

    Best regards,
    Nyzaltar.

Yes, you can upgrade your pack from the silver level to the gold level, for the price difference between the two. This is an ability that will be removed sometime in the future, although I'm not quite sure when...

I want (for bigger ships) A huge Captains chair, with all the blinky lights and bells and whistles. It should still be functional, but it should look awesome. It'd be like a decorative/functional item.

You could always make a throw-away email address, buy a pledge, then give someone the email info.

But that would be tedious, plus what if the y want it on their own email? So I get what you're saying there.

Also, during the kickstarter I remember they said if you simply added in to the price of whatever pledge level you were backing the amount of one DAC, they'd give you an extra DAC, or however many you added. This portal does seem to lack that though.

Well, All we know is that We all start on the same planet. We'll likely be able to see maybe a moon, or possibly another planet, but beyond that, until somebody makes space travel, no one will have any idea where anything else is. To get out of the system, we'll have to build the stargates.

Honestly, I find it really exciting to have absolutly no clue where any other planets are until we discover it. Imagine. You're one of the first ones to make a spaceship. Others have been looking for Planet #2, but nobody can find it. You're out exploring and stumble upon it. A whole new world, that thousands of others will colonize, mine, and fly to, all because you had the skills(luck?) to find it first. You'll be remembered forever, as the first person to set foot on a new planet. (Aside from whoever gets out of the inevitable rush to log in first and spawn on Alioth.)

As I have said on other threads, I think it would be interesting to have a few "hostile worlds" scattered around where either the weather, terrain, or wildlife (or all three) were particularly dangerous. The planet would have some sort of rare materials or other attributes that would make it worth it to colonize the planet. The wildlife in this case wouldn't be a raid boss or be particularly worth farming on their own; they wouldn't drop any loot. It would simply be a persistent threat to those who tried to colonize the planet. It could also open up some new and interesting gameplay. Imagine stirring up the nest of a hostile creature to get it to attack an enemies base, or timing your sneak attack to coincide with a storm.

Like Twerk said though, npcs in this game would have to work very differently than fro mother games.

CommanderLouiz reacted to ATMLVE in Defunct Probes
The developers have said they don't want to make pre-made content. This makes sense because in the lore, humanity has spread far across the stars and of course, where they're going, there's no one and nothing there. The game is supposed to be about players rebuilding everything from scratch, and so the lore and game mechanics tie together perfectly (as they should, obviously).

But according to the lore, Arkship technology was developed about a century before the ships were actually completed. This technology most likely includes the propulsion technology. Someone surely must've used that tech to launch some probes out into the galaxy to aid the search for potentially habitable planets; I mean just think about it. That totally would've happened. Humanity needs a new home, so before we finish these massive starships capable of housing millions of inhabitants for thousands of years, run by AI and made of magic material, why not send out a couple probes to see if we can find a good direction to launch them in?

I think it would add not only some interest to the exploration side of the game, but also possibly the lore, if it was possible to find probes out in Dual Universe. Old satellites that are no longer functioning, but from which minorly valuable rewards could be obtained. Before you persecute me for suggesting pre-made content, remember that it not only fits the lore but could actually improve it, and it really doesn't take any of the fun out of the whole "we are rebuilding civilization" aspect of the game.
