BoomHeadshot reacted to Wyndle in Talemai is solid proof that ore distribution with infinite ore pools that can be claimed is terrible for game
Looking around more, @Shredder was the only one to mention having seen a planet listed on the patch announcement and later the same day came the 'when will we hear about planets' complaints I recalled seeing.  The context for removing a portion of an official announcement that we now know for fact was a part of the patch is of the utmost importance here.  Just seeing Shredder's post with no direct response could create the impression that the planet was held back or not actually in the post.

Two plus weeks of prep time versus two days is an uncontestable head start with a myriad of additional ways to ensure coming out on top.  Even a solo player with two weeks of insider prep time could buy up and build MUs and TUs while mission running to cover TU placement costs and blanket the planet in fast claimed tiles.

@NQ-Wanderer @NQ-Nyota @NQ-Deckard  -  This incident has pushed the boundary past plausible deniability.  I can see the occasional slip or blunder leading to poor results but every patch having essentially the same effect of benefiting a few?  It is either malfeasance or ineptitude on a level that ensures the eventual collapse of the game and the fact the servers haven't already croaked takes credence away from the latter.

I came to the table in good faith and offered input, suggestions, and value for the game and community.  Telling us how to jump through hoops with enough flame but not too much when we're not heaping praise upon you is a MAJOR RED FLAG. Every step along the way since launch that has been "mishandled" has been called out yet we get short notice for a single planet being released?  NQ has shaved the doubts balanced on Occam's Razer so thin that we're left with two equally horrible possible explanations; malfeasance or catastrophic incompetence.  Each patch has just enough "good enough" to temporarily pull attention away from consistent, repeated abuse of your community.

There seems to be tons of smoke billowing around every patch.  It couldn't possibly be someone's pants ablaze?  Nah, nothing to see here...

If anyone thought it was not going to turn out this way.....   I noticed by week two of release how quickly stuff got gobbled up. and that was before people had assets. Couple that with the changes to territory units (IE you can go far away from them without them stopping).  Couple that with ore distributions where large clumps of ore expand over 10+ hexes in length. This means A single player can place 1 scanner, skip 5 hexes place another mining unit skip 5 hexes. Rinse repeat till you have 15 mining units down.  This means a single player can scan an area of about 300 hexes every 30 minutes.  Get 20 people into an organized formation and your scanning an area of 12,000 hexes every hour.  Meaning 5 hours and you have a planet the size of Talemai all scanned down.  Sure you dont have every tile scanned but you dont need to. All you need is a whiff and you can then zero in on the deposit.
No, you are incorrect. The two  big claims on that moon, one is gold and the other is silver.  And as far as I can tell that is the only gold tile in game.  now there are probably many T1 and T2 tiles to be discovered still, but as you pointed out, those ore are not as valuable and not worth the cost of getting this ore back to safe space.

Now dont forget, all of this is moot because "When" territory warfare comes to the game.  all these claims will get gobbled up by the few. Or at minimum denied access to by the powerful.

Yeah, I saw an off-hand comment about new planet and thought "oh cool, progress."  Then I found out it was just one planet and immediately went into "either NQ doesn't care that many in the community have outright claimed cheating/favoritism or they are so horribly inept."  The end result is the same either way and will only harm the (remaining) community at large.

    Jago -     2.66% tiles claimed (1616)
    Teoma - 2.48% claimed (1505)
    Both out since launch.

Talemai - 3.34% (1768 tiles) claimed in less than 24hrs.
I think our work is done here.

NQ : Now do you understand why we need a different ore distribution for next planet?

    Edited to add more evidence.

Why are there still people expecting a wipe??
There will be no wipe if not a huge problem in the code or something critical happens from NQs side.
The Beta runs as expected, eccept from its a bit longer than expected.
DU is supposed to be a persistant universe and the last wipe was at beta start.
I see no reason yet for a wipe... Everything works as promissed and expected so far.

Yeah... I have played since beta, as a Patron. It definitely was forgivable even in the first couple months for me. Working in game development myself, I understand how things may go. It didn't take long for me to soon see that it doesn't appear as though anyone here has any previous game development experience. The game is inconsistent, and while some features are robust, others are so lacking it's confusing. Overly complicated system, not good enough tools, shoddy performance and stability.

After almost a full year of being available to the public (not to mention the 2-3+ years in development prior, and nothing to show for it) there have been no meaningful improvements in performance, stability. Still haven't fixed the crashes, unhandled exceptions...

I played for about 3 months. Then stopped playing for about 6 months or something, only to come back recently. The coolest thing that has happened since is the community building things. There's literally nothing else to talk about. Nobody is missing anything by not playing. It's a shame really. The development team is aware, I'm sure, but I'm here to speak and say my opinion that the development team needs to stop production of half-baked features, to focus on stability and performance. If you did that from the start, the player base wouldn't be what it is now. The fact that I'm being told to update ports in my router as a workaround to my crashes, is a disappointment. It's not even a guarantee, and I'm not going to do all that. In the end you're losing customers, and those of us who're still vocal and here and speaking up, should be able to help guide the product to a healthy state.

I work in Quality Assurance for my job, and the quality bar is set really low on this project. The Project/Build Manager should feel ashamed. The producer should prioritize better, and the board members need to listen to the community and help support production to focus on quality foundations before adding features. Dual Universe doesn't know what it is anymore, and those of us who are still here, paying, playing, should and will dictate how the game proceeds. We got you.

    Edited to add:
My whole org quit, they talk shit on the game. It sucks. lol Feels really bad.

    -Crashing when flying
-Unhandled Exceptions after clicking play on launcher
-Server response time is absolutely garbage. Makes playing with other players a slide show when you're not on the ground.
-Loading times are garbage for absolutely everything
-Constructs/construct loading times/quality not optimized is also horrendous. Market 6 is perfect example. Market 6 should stay this way as a control bar for quality performance

When game first launch beta to public I was a bit more forgiving during the first couple weeks but now there should be no excuses. Game has been out for almost a year and software quality has continued to decline as you rush patches out the door with little focus on QA.

Things that cause game to crash :
     - Landing near market
     - Landing near base
     - Landing.....
     - Flying over buildings
     - Opening inventory
     - Opening market/remote market
     - Opening crafting menu
     - Opening map
     - Walking around?????
     - ...and breathing

I'm sure there are countless other things i forgot to mention but this is an absolute embarrassment NQ's part. Org members have been telling me they won't bother even playing due to all the game crashes.

The sizes are likely quite intentional as a soft limiting factor on how many can fit, or in the case of shield generators, what they can reasonably fit on.

First off, Kudos for acknowledging the absolute mess that is crash to desktop issues, along with telling people to not use VR due to bugs. Though, it wasn't communicated very well and has caused major issues because of it- still kudos for trying to communicate with the community better vs staying silent.

Myself and others have been "Bugged Out", no skills seam to be applying now after using a VR station and crashing to desktop. Can't use industry. Can't mine efficiently. Can't deploy my ships with boosted skills.  No mention of this on the login screen, or in game- and the announcement didn't get published to all the discords mirroring announcements- so few people saw it.

Crash to Desktop issue announcement? Awesome, thank you NQ for acknowledging it- though it's hidden away in an announcement within discord. and in discord discussion people were told by an employee to "not fly their ships if they're at risk of crashing", aka- stop playing in general discussion.

NovaQuark should not have to rely on Discord(which not all players use!) to push announcements to the game- and the in game pop-up misses a ton of people as if you're not logged in when it's sent you wont see it..... Literally, a simple pop-up/notification at the login screen could have saved a lot of heartache this week.

If it wasn't for these serious, show stopping, game breaking problems- 0.26 would have been a solid update with content and quality of life improvements(better FPS, interface improvements, and little baby asteroids that took almost zero player input from PTS). I hope the dev & GM team, and most likely managment that pushed the dev team to go live- learns from this. Also- get a couple more GM's for the weekends when the player base is most active like any other MMO with a subscription model has.... and a pony, yes- I want a pony too... well I mean pets were promised in the kick-starter after-all...  Who am I kidding? I'd just settle with a game that works, and I can play.

all i did was maneuver tool ships into the air and catch it with another ship that is physics enabled. nothing more if you try it you will see its that easy. in 0.23 NQ changed the way docking worked so that if you stand on a dynamic construct it will enable physics on anything maneuvered... that was an intended change and one announced in the patch notes outside the game.

happy to... even though they also destroyed my ship and took it to pvp space from a safe zone and took 20mil worth of warp cells that I bought with ore mined from the ground.... am more than willing to compensate them and will still accept a ban if NQ sees it. had only done a single haul of ships out before I stopped and since this has been made aware of being not allowed had stopped.  that all being said i only used the games tools everyone has access to and didnt do anything that was directly against the code of conduct or eula and wish that the forum post they had about not doing this was included in those other documents.. i even reported myself and the reproduction when this was all made apparent.

place your blame on me and not NQ for allowing it to happen so easily and burying rules in a forum that isn't apart of the code of conduct or the ender user license agreements.
