  1. Same here. It actually made me sad for a moment.
  2. Hello everyone, Ign just posted a new trailer for DU. I admit being biased but I think it looks great.
  3. You didn't understand, I'll do my best to explain it better. A sub = 1 month of playtime. 1 month = X amount of experience gained, offline or online. X amount divided by rate per X, this could be 2 points per minute or whatever rate NQ sets. It's most likely a more complicated formula than I'm describing here. If you only subscribe for 5 hours your rate of xp will obviously be adjusted to reflect your subscription time. This is not the same as subscribing for a month and only playing for 5 hours. I don't think I can explain it better then this.
  4. NQ did say that existing IP's are a no go. There was an org that resembled Star Wars too much and the org was forced to change it. Feel free to fly and design what you want but I would advice caution.
  5. We can neither confirm or deny this statement.
  6. Pfew, that was a lot to read. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the impact a pay by hour system would have on the play experience. Perhaps concider this is not how NQ looks at the player experience they want to offer. Pay by the hour would mean a certain segment of the player base would be cut of from many aspects of the game. Imagine trying to build a ship or building while counting your minutes. No time to relax and socialize or explore the universe. You certainly wouldn't be able to build constructs with enough quality to sell. As such your player contribution would be second grade. Ask yourself if this fits with the games philosophy. Talking about actual experience, how would a pay by the hour player even advance his skills? If you reduce the rate of xp gathering you would have a play experience that is just not viable. You play 5 hours per X, you wouldn't be able to advance or compete with a monthly sub player. In the end even if it was a good idea to pay by the hour, it would create a second class player. That's not smart business. Nor is it the experience I think NQ is trying to create for their game.
  7. Hi, welcome to the forum. You'll find many people here who think DU is the best thing since sliced bread. Me included.
  8. Thanks for sharing this with us. I couldn't make it but its nice to read your hands on.
  9. I'm on a permanent holiday so taking time off doesn't really apply to me. I'll definitely "clear" my agenda though.
  10. I've been looking it for it whole week, still nothing to be found. Let's hope something comes our way.
  11. Yup, call it whatever you want, I'll be happy to dig a hole and meet up with friends.
  12. Mining and prospecting. I love me some treasure.
  13. God I hope so. A presentation would be great but I'll take anything to be honest. Yes, I have a problem.
  14. I think it comes a bit from fear. I don't think I need to remind you of the many controversial stories from Eve concerning insider knowledge etc. I understand why it might make someone uncomfortable. I personally haven't seen anything yet to suggest that NQ might be crossing some kind of ethical border in this or any other situation where cooperation is taking place. If it needs to be said, it takes a lot of time setting things up for the community. Whether it be this BOOM, du-stats, Sleepers, DU Explorers, moderating the subreddit, building the gamepedia, Cinderfall TV or even Oz (did I miss anyone?). These things are done by regular players with a passion for DU. If you feel you want to contribute then think of something and Do it. Most if not all of the player run initiatives want nothing more than to engage and encourage people. But the truth is many people prefer to critique from the sidelines, the arm chair experts. And that's fine, but if you want to be involved in or with the community in any way beyond just playing, put in the time and work to make it happen. I appreciate BOO taking the initiative in setting this up. It's something that is needed and it enables NQ and all of us to spend time on something else.
  15. I definitely will support this as much as I can. And I appreciate BOO handling the organizing of this project.
  16. Sounds like an interesting dynamic but how would you find the location of the damaged section? It wouldn't always be clear where exactly the power is being interrupted. It's the same as air mechanics, with no real size limit plugging the problem becomes a fine line between fun and tedious. I like the idea though. Perhaps locating the problem could be done with logic gates? Then some script to send back a state message?
  17. Naturally, can't really go anywhere without the parrot.
  18. If you look at the stretch goals, it says first level character customization. So I think there is a level two and hopefully a level three. Though I don't think it's a high priority for them just yet. My ideal scenario is that we get some body shop element to customize our look whenever we want. And all I want is a cowboy hat and a trench-coat. I do love my hats.
  19. Interesting thought. I'm definitely buying a DAC now and again to keep the spice flowing but your idea is interesting. I would personally prefer it if my account was just activated for ever. But your idea would work too and it's definitely original. ?
  20. This thread is confusing. Did I slip, crack my head and woke up in 2016?
  21. Strangely I also never worried about the funding. It's perhaps a bit naive but I have "complete" trust in JC. Given his background I trust his sense of business. It also helps that DU doesn't have any traditional pve content.
  22. Hi there, congrats on your golden pledge. Make yourself comfortable it's going to be a fun ride.
  23. Hehe Nyzaltar made a small mistake there. The game is slated to release end of 2018. Welcome to the forum.
  24. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your stay.
