  1. If I would have been annoyed, I wouldn't reply happens with loads of people joining and not reading before asking. That's the way of a forum
  2. read: https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/10400-beta-test/ or https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/10441-when-will-the-alpha-be-downloadable/ and watch: Use search function for such topics. Those are asked every day by some newbros......
  3. pls don't double post on the same subject
  4. I generally like the idea BUT: - there have to be means to detect / counter those marks - furthermore: unknown, instakill assassin trap would just be abused - secret bases have one advantage: they're secret. - if implemented poorly, this will only end in people constantly checking their flags. Annoying and unnecessary
  5. Bad things about EVE: - Learning skills: You have 5 attributes which affect learning speed of skills; there were 2 skills each you could learn to improve your attributes in order to skill faster. It was just a pain for newbros to skill those first and then the relevant skills for new weapons/Ships (was later patched) - 24h skill queue: You could only drop skills into that queue when the start of the last skill was within 24h - but it could then run for 60days. (was later patched - now: 50 skills at max, no matter when they start) - weak tutorial: non existent at all, poorly made and complete crap. If you don't have someone who explains everything to you, you're fucked. - bad newbro experience: they have no clue what to do, where to go. Eve just throws you into the fun with no explanation at all - how to fit your ship, what there is to do and so on (has gotten better through community and some patches) and the worst point of all which bothers me most (and I really hope NQ doesn't make that mistake too): - carebear catering: there is no need for a newbro to leave highsec. no story arc, no mission, no tutorial - well there are, but most risk averse players decline those because they fear lowsec/null/whs too much. No one is forced to go there, not even once. That bias is partially because of the community, which is great (don't go there, bad things happen, you die, we don't want you there,... securing an air of mystery) and because there is no need for them to even bother with dangerous space. Many players only stay in highsec and just don't get to know the whole game, they're robbed of great experiences, big battles, tactical warfare, thrills and much more because they only know a safe and secure environment (which is total bullshit btw, highsec is way more dangerous than my C6 wormhole) from the start. Everyone of you spacenerds have heard at some point about some big battle in eve and twisting plots - those are the stories which draw attention to the game and get people involved. No one wants to hear an "epic" story about a miner who sits in his belt for 10h and watching his cargo fill - that's just utterly boring.Nonetheless: when people then join eve (because of some epic story they heard) they just sit in highsec and will NEVER see such a battle or such plots. You have to force people out of their comfort zone, at least once. They have to get to know the dangerous lifestyle, the worrying about your ship, the thrill you feel while you are hunted. If they then decide that they don't want to do that again - fine, you don't have to - but they know it's there. Good things: - player driven stories: battles, plots, hilarious mistakes, even gods - all made up by players - complicated mechanics: best part of eve. Only few people really understand the game mechanics (like tracking, directional scan, shield mechanics, engines, fitting,....) and really use them properly (like the infinite gun for example). Most just play and have some tactics to do something but they don't fully understand the underlying mechanics. They don't use those mechanics to their advantage. Getting to know those mechanics and using them properly is one of the best things in eve. - Trailers: ccp really knows how to promote the game well. just watch: this is eve trailer.....
  6. Whatever mate, old info which hasn't been updated
  7. That also removes the chance of stealing your text. I can't see why you should open two topics, just stick to one. First post your original text. Send it to a native speaker, get the revised text back and post a second comment with the revised text. No need for people to spreading their story on different threads, only adds confusion
  8. Error 404, can't open it. Possible typo, or more likely: this game has been in development since 2011, so they might have just adapted that further
  9. just to quote nomad here: plus the SAME were postet with the survey. so YES a last name is allowed but not needed. It was clearly written, I really don't know why people always jump to conclusions and don't read the texts properly
  10. With mysterious pirate powers I call upon the sky and a small asteroid kills you. I'm king now
  11. Like it's written on the forums, Kickstarter and everywhere: First half of 2017
  12. Planet rotation != orbit. They rotate around their axis and the moon is at a fixed position. So the moon seemingly revolves around the planet. No orbits involved
  13. Hi there, I will upload my story next week after me and some friends read it again and made sure that there are no major logical mistakes in it and lore problems. Short facts: - 9 pages - 7.092 words - backstory of Lethys - year: 2525 - 2535 - city: unknown, possibly somewhere in europe As a roleplayer, all my characters need some kind of backstory. Why they behave like they do, how they see the world and so on. Since I deeply believe that NQ should provide the details of the lore, I tried to be as vague on those parts as possible but nonetheless I described the "side effects" of such an event and what would possibly happen on earth during those last few years. The only thing I made up myself is that implant in our heads for skill training. As a teaser for my story, I will further describe what I mean in a short post by the end of the week. To keep this thread clean and in order to publish this as I want it to be, I ask you not to answer to this thread. If you want to know something about the story, my writing, some other info, please write a pm. I will answer those alongside the teaser this weekend. Looking forward to read other stories
  14. then prove him wrong by linking your evidence?

    Big-War-Day

funny, same story here with SE. total boring crap - no fun at all with no pvp. You have options though - stay in the safe zone. But you won't find rare minerals there to build a ship (or just buy them later on). NQ forces players to go outside (which is good btw - leaving your comfort zone), band together, form groups, protect each other,... to get those resources. Emergent gameplay and stuff
  16. WTF did I write and where? Oo You really should check your eyes mate

    Big-War-Day

Peace...yeah. And let the game die a horrible, slow and foremost completely boring death because nothing ever happens at all
  18. I have no idea what this writing is about
