it's just a "v" at the login screen, there is no reason whatsoever to search for them. I don't think I will approach one even if I see it. It just don't worth the time and all you probably see is just a destroyed ship.

We will see a lot of destroyed ships next patch.

"V" that's has no right to be there IMHO, i like that kind of content, but i do expect adequate rewards for the time spent. Destroyed but not claimable lol

    Wrecks are crap.

if you want to salvage some I can drop you some coords of ships we left dead in pvp zone, you can go salvage them but no anti-grav there either for sure.

Thats where i found mine, it felt like NQ punched me in the face , proudly announced content that doesn't deserve that name.  Warp cell cost to get to that planet was higher than whole wreck altogether.

If I  understood it correctly  that is kind of what JC wanted.   huge orgs controlling parts of the solar systems.  The destructible elements are a side effect of everyone being able to make everything.    More than the one solar system will be needed.  The game needs to be big enough that not any one org can control it all.

Was just a thought it will  never happen if its not in the Vision

Thats the problem, i have seen in other MMO's what happens when large guilds/orgs control content and deny it for the rest of the community, and it is not a good thing.

As i said average player is not interested in orgs, politics , pvp to that extent , average player spends a bit of his time playing and wants to chill out , try new things , do bit of mining , build something, do bit of exploring maybe a quest or a mission.

In-game politics, large org projects are for diehards who spend 6+ hours a day playing, and those will have an obvious advantage , give them ability to control content and the vast majority of population wont be able to leave safe space.

Creators vision and customer expectations have to meet ,  or neither side will benefit. Creator wont have a project to work on and customers wont have a product to enjoy.

This post is related to the economy and the state of the game in general.   It seems we are lacking imagination or maybe some technical limitations I don't know about here.    what are your thoughts ?

    1. Make a new solar system.   "with some different rules"   no safe zones  territory warfare.....

    2. In this new solar system warp does not work  until we get some upgrade module for that solar system.

    3. A race of alien's inhabit this system or parts of it that have recopies or technology upgrades that you can limit how many of them are in game.

This would encourage people to go out and fight them for Loot and encourage PVP to control that area of space.   It would also make it so that you can leave the original solar system alone as new players will need a way to get themselves off the ground while Not making the game completely ridiculous.

50 % of population doesnt care  nor want to  pvp, another 25% can live with it and occasionally will participate, only 25 % at best is interested  and treats it as main focus, make a full pvp system and barely anyone will be considering a move.

    Happy Friday, Noveans!

I'm coming to you with a few more answers/clarifications for your reading pleasure. :) I really appreciated everyone's patience while I rode the merry-go-round of feedback handling.

    Alright, let's dive in!

To start, I think it's prudent to address the question of "why did you make a tool change without fixing [insert bug description here] first?"

    • As predictable/banal as this may sound to some, it's worth saying; while we are forever working hard to fix *all* current bugs, certain issues will be looked at before others. We deeply respect your opinions about our priorities (NQ is especially fortunate to have a community full of game-dev-savvy people), but we simply won't be able to please everyone no matter what direction we take. We ask that you continue to trust in the internal knowledge we have (combined with your feedback) when it comes to bug fixes paralleling feature development and/or changes.

    Alt+F4:

    • As many of you are relieved to see, we fixed a longstanding limitation to the feeling of continuity in DU; quitting the game should never stop a ship! The recent changes we've made ensure that as soon as any player sees a construct, that construct will remain visible to everyone in the vicinity. So, using Alt+F4 during a fight will no longer 'freeze' your ship. Instead, she'll still be simulated for any other player who is still there. (And if nobody is around you, you won't have to worry about a thing!)
    • By making this change, we hope to prevent players from "gaming the system" using Alt+F4.
    • Of course, we'll be keeping a close eye on your feedback and will rebalance things accordingly to make sure this gameplay pillar keeps retains its depth!

    Regarding the 50m restriction:

    • Based on feedback from all of you, this has been increased to 128m, which is the size of the largest build zone!

As for concerns about moving unwanted constructs from player-owned tiles go (@casegard):

    • We've seen some solid points raised about how the maneuver tool was being used to clear away constructs - the scenario quoted above being a great example. We're currently thinking hard about a viable solution for this!

    AGG:

    •  As mentioned previously in this thread, the intended meta for AGG will reveal itself in 'atmo PvP'. We acknowledge that it currently functions as a temporary solution for hauling heavy loads from the ground into space, and that players like to leave their ships hovering above their base. We will consider formally implementing an “anchoring” at high altitude feature in the future! :)

I sincerely hope this has been helpful to everyone, but please continue to deliver your (welcome) feedback here.

    Have an excellent weekend!!

AGG in atmo pvp?. That will last a week, where combat hungry pirates, gankers , pvp orgs will swipe all planets destroying every ship belonging to solo players, small less active orgs causing them to retreat to safe zone , leaving only large active orgs .

  6. Let us begin ,

When return of the wrecks has been announced my exploring senses started tingling.

    So i have began:

Every time i have been visiting new places during my journeys thru the system , i have been flying slow and low, straining my eyes on the lookout for the even smallest signs of the wreckage.

Days have passed with nothing being found,

I have expected that, 100 or so wrecks scattered among the dozens of planets and moons, fully knowing I am not the only one searching.

     2 weeks passed...

During that time i heard bout some been  found, some selling location to make additional buck , i kept searching...

Finally , when almost given up hope i saw it...

Small piece of metal that i have initially thought to be a rock.

Hurried to the spot and started carefully checking surroundings, Yes i have found it, I have beaten others to it, I am THE FIRST.

Feeling great sense of accomplishment, i have found a wreckage.

Started carefully uncovering the exteriors, broken armament here and there, damaged hull, made me work slower...

I am witnessing resting place of once proud Pirate ship...

    Finished uncovering the exterior....

Nothing out of ordinary, damaged parts I have seen dozens of, i produce most of them myself and supply to the markets.

With one exception , anti-gravity pulsors, this baby is big.

I dive inside , carefully removing soil from interior making sure i don't make a wrong step.

With anticipation of great haul i move slowly from command deck, past living quarters towards cargo hold and engine room.

When I finally get there, containers are empty , engine room only holds basic engines i have seen hundreds of.

Where is the "gold" , where is the Anti-gravity unit? i have seen pulsors outside!!!

So i went back and forth checking every room , every corner of the ship.

To my despair found nothing , no great spoils, no reward for being first.

    So much time wasted ....

Angry and disappointed , i return the surface to the state i found it in...

Then slowly walk away with a tear in the corner of my eye.... never looking back...

The ( not a happy) End

  7. Hello all,

Reading threads i have noticed that players complain about not enough things to do , pvpers that they dont have enough pvp etc, etc.

    So here is my idea:

    Great man JC has stated himself that Player/Org missions are coming soon, He said that this content will shine when critical population is achieved;

But population is shrinking so those quests will not provide enough content as number of quests needs to be equal or higher than number of population.

So here is an idea that might please all type of players (except Devs as is time consuming , sowwy):

    Aphelia's   missions :

Mission terminals at each market :

    1. Safe zone missions - easy missions for newbie to get accustomed with the game and get them hooked up.

    2. Outer planet missions - variety of mission with scaled rarity ( rares and harder mission > better rewards)

    3. Lore

    4. Easter egg hunts

    Rewards:

    1. Talent points limited to certain amount to prevent spamming

    2. Non craftable items used in ship building

    3. Collectibles ( plants, furniture as an example)

    4. Seasonal items ( for example: Christmas sleight designed by Great man JC - giving lucky owner right to brag :D)

5.+ Many more to give Pve community incentive to venture out of safe zone and take some risks.

    Warp Travel changes:

Currently warping is completely safe bypassing all pvp areas. warp exits are small spheres just inside of 2.5 SU safe zone.

    That could be changed:

    1. Instead of small sphere , why not make it the way that warp exit can be random at a distance of 3 to 3.5 SU  ANYWHERE around planet no matter from which direction player is warping.

    2. Same with warp initiation, move it to 3 SU so one needs to enter pvp zone.

I pretty aware that warp changes im proposing , will be made obsolete when safe zones going to be removed; But that  is at least 1 year away, so what till then?

These changes and idea have several implications as they completely change several aspects that should please every part of community:

    1. Shipwrights would need to go back to their drawing boards as changes to Cargo ships will be required.

    2. Pve boys and girls would need to put themselves into harms way in order to get those fancy Plant pots and items used for decoration.

    3. Pvpers would start to sharpen their teeth as it would give them new playgrounds and more possible targets.

I am aware that what im proposing is outside Universe vision of player generated content ,but player base needs  a helping hand  to grow ,and this is something that would make quitters come back.

    Best Regards
