  1. If they turn taxes off and they wipe I loose no time as I don't have to login and pay taxes. If they leave taxes on and I have to login to pay and then wipe they have wasted even more of my time. So as a courtesy they should turn off taxes until they decide
  2. Until you guys finish your internal discussion on whether there should be a wipe or not you guys should stop taxing us.
  3. Asteroids respawn every week that 6ou can dig for ore. Each territory has a set amount of ore and the mining unit will mine that amount forever, no digging needed. Granted you do need to calibrate it every 4 or 5 days.
  4. The only issue here is the need to fix the description. When the game originally released in beta that's the way it worked. The skill decreased the time. However one of the larger stresses on the server was factories, they where ticking so fast it had the potential to lag the game. So increasing the time between actions, and thus increasing the quantity for each action was done it was not just honeycombs, but also also parts. For the most part it is a non issue, anyone producing quantity is not affected. At the end of the day it's not the end of the world for honeycombs either. You can make small batches in your nanosuit. You can buy small batches (shops are setup where you can buy everytype of honeycombs.) Or store it, you will find other projects for it.
  5. A year to get into pvp? Only takes 7 days to skill ammo, radar, 1 m weapon type. Up to lvl 3 on everything. Now all things equal yea that max skilled player is going to Beat the lvl 3 guy everytime. But if you spend several more weeks to months training up specific skills you can become competitive with max skilled players. Pay2win is buying premium ammo that you spend rl money that is bet5er than can be gotten ingame. Pay2win is buying the best loadout with real money without having to play tge game to get it. Multi accounts is dual boxing. And if you said DU is so dual boxy. I would have said yes, yes it is.
  6. Don't distort the pay2win tag. While I don't disagree that having multiple accounts has some big advantages. It's a far cry froming being able to buy premium ammo that's better then you get in game.
  7. i would say we should go on strike and not log into the game until they figure it out. But that would only help NQ out as it would reduce server load which would reduce server cost.
  8. One second while I get 100 alt accounts created so I can bring 5,000 items with me. Bringing SP would negate the main reason for a wipe, which would be to attract new players to a fresh even world. However I dont think there should be a wipe in the first place. No reason for it. Economy is not so broken that a wipe will make everything great again. New players are not going to flock to the game because its a fresh wipe. If players only joined fresh games eve would have died out long ago.
  9. Also should add. I feel two things should be added to the game before launch from that list. 1 is PVE. It does not need to be a complex system. I am talking about something similar to the alien cores. Except they are one time events. IE you dont place mining platforms. You go there and blow the auto turrets up and collect the 1 unit of plasma, or maybe a schematic, or maybe you get just fuel, or some honeycomb. And this sites should be found via the deep space tracker. Talking about a medium core with 5 turrets on each side that shoot anything that comes in range. and a player has to destroy the shield, which then destroys all the turrets and then they can collect the item out of a container. 2. Farming. And as I said above. its not for the survival aspect as I think to many people would hate having to eat and drink every so often. But it would be a thing to do. Crops could be sold to aphelia markets. Boosters could be made with these crop items, IE enriched fuels, that consume less, or allow you to fly faster. Injectors to make you shoot faster.... Maybe a light weight fuel. Dyes for a paint gun that lets you change the color of a block. And its not that I think these things should be added to the game for the current player base. I think these are two major activities that will bring whole new demographics into the game, which means higher player base. The PVE demographic will be just as large as the rest of the player base by itself. And there are entire games dedicated to farming which brings in whole new demographics into the game. Basically I fell these two things are needed to support the player base that NQ needs for the game to survive.
  10. Lets look at the games current content. Builders, Probably the most fleshed out aspect of the game. You can build allot of cool buildings/ships. Players can join just for this alone. Industry, Everything from beginner basics, to advanced endgame stuff. I could not see many people joining DU just to play an industrialist. A much higher player base with commodities leaving the game to be a real thing. Quest/Mission. Du only has a credit grinding system. No go scan, or go find or go collect, or go kill, or go talk, or bring me type system. Noone is joining DU to do this except alt grinders. Transport. I have had friends who just like to haul stuff around. more of a side thing then something that would bring players to play the game. Scripters/modders. Fairly in depth. I could see some coming to the game for this activity, but its going to be a small share of the player base. Marketers. Buy Low sell high. Player base is pretty small, and the items that are traded are limited. Its a doable thing in DU, but again I dont think anyone is going to come to DU to play a marketer. Exploration. Not much to explore in DU. You can scan territories. You can scan asteroids. and you can located abandoned wrecks. While you can make money selling territories, Asteroid scanning is only for yourself and allies, Wrecks are lack luster. No one is joining DU to be an explorer. Miners. Its in the game. and while it has changed to a point that makes it harder for new players to get into. it still potentially be an aspect that players joing DU to only do as there are several ways to do it. PVP. The next updated should really help this category. Right now we pretty much only have staged events and pirate activities. Players are joining for this. And hopefully the next update makes it good for them. PVE. None. This would bring in as many players as the builder and PVE category, really surprised DU has done nothing for this. While PVP in Eve is what makes the game famous, Eve would never survive without the PVE content the game has. Collector. In a True MMO RPG Its always about fighting the endgame boss and getting that +1 sword. DU really lacks this hamster wheel setup. I always assumed these mechanics would come later on. But I really doubt it. Farming. None, no need for food/drink so no farming. And the thing is you would not even need food and drink to be consumed by the players to be an aspect of the game. These could be comodities that are sold to bots to keep the clones in the arkship alive. So what is the future of the game? Well currently new player experience is long enough for most to not realise the game is empty of content. Although for those that become builders, they can continue to play forever oblivious to all things not building. Those looking for PVP spend a bunch of time gearing up only to realise that there are better PVP games out there. Those joining for industry and mining can keep themselves occupied, but unless they dabble in other activities will find the game lacking. So my opinion is wipe or no wipe, unless we get more content in the game, an influx of new players is not coming.
  11. There is only 2 things needed from NQ for a proper player market. 1. The ability for players to buy things via dispensers (or similar item). 2. the ability to globally search for items in dispensers

    I would not be surprised to learn that more T3/4/5 has been MUed than was ever mined out of the ground. and thats not counting what we get from asteroids.
  13. Now I am just going to throw some numbers out here as I am not logging in to see what the real numbers are. Ok so it takes 300 screws to make a screw schematic. (although you would not want it to be screws, because how they going to get screws in the first place?) Now lets say the value of of a screw is 500quanta worth of ore. So your essentially paying 165,000 quanta for that screw schematic. and if that screw schematic is 165,000 to buy an actual schematic off the market. why not just sell the ore and buy a schematic? Although there is a mental factor to this. It gives those that feel they dont want to pay for the schematic an avenue to not pay for it. even thow they are paying just as much for it. Its like when WOW introduced a daily login XP. For the first couple hours playing, players got 100% XP then after several hours of playing it would drop down to 50% XP. Of course people did not like this because they felt they where being robbed. So instead they halved the amount of XP you got from each kill. and instead gave you 200% for the first couple hours of play and then after that you got 100%. At the end of the day you got the same amount of XP for both systems, But the mental factor made it seem like getting 200% for a daily login bonus XP.
  14. I dont think that is true. While, yes once all the tiles on all the planets are scanned. The very best stuff will be claimed. But there are plenty of good flowers out there that are not claimed. And yes some people will claim tiles that are good just to sell them later. I could see a caveat in there that claimed tiles dont show ore values. (although you can still go manually scan those tiles). The vast quantiity of ore tiles out there, There is plenty for everyone.
  15. They definitely made it easier to track down flowers. But not everything has been taken. Area's get missed. Or not the ore they where looking for. Now does it become harder to find? Yes, like allot harder. Let's say 50% of the planet has been scanned. Your chances of finding a tile is now just 25% I think a way to fix this issue is to make scans public after a period of time. Well help get rid of the pretense that nothing is left. Reguarding giving other ores. That's a bad idea. Right now you actually have people trading they have allot of for ore others have allot of.

  18. And this is where MMO comes into play. New player should not be trying to make these items day1. They should be buying these items. Gota get that pre schematic mentality out of our heads where we build everything ourselves. Should only be buying schematic on things you intend to sell or are going to use allot of. Now you might say but I want to do everything myself. And that's your choice, but if you choose to do it the hard way, seems silly to want to make it easier.
  19. These are false assumptions. If you as much effort into MUs that you put into mining mega nodes you get the same amount of ore. The only difference is with mega nodes you can get allot at one time. Also I have MUd more t3,4 out of the ground then I have ever scanned. You talk like a wipe would fix these old stockpile issues. But they are not issues and new ore coming into the game exceeds this.
  20. That's going to be the case for exotic things. Somebody undercutting your exotic weapons sales. You go blow there plasma collectors.
  21. Ahh your minimalist ships that barely flew before. Yea I could see this change affecting builds like that. For instance ships like the light skipper. They where built to exact parameters, and work well now. However this change actually benefits ship builders like this. Because now there is more of a reason for these builds, not just warp cells, but now speed will be affected. So these more optimized builds like you do will be even better. Downside is you have to redesign.
  22. Does not matter what the community wants. This is a decision for the big boss guy. Because the final choice will either result in great success, or great failure.
  23. They abandoned the power system so fast after the schematic debacle that they wont even make eye contact with it now. And rightly so, if they introduce such a system the way they introduced schematics, Going to have another mass exodus. Even thow the majority of us could agree that a power system is needed. Heck, you even look at schematics now. They where only implemented poorly. But they are an important part of the game experience, They do way more good then harm. and NQ is even wanting to take them back out.
  24. You think NQ actually reads these forums? And all the pros and cons have been discussed a 1,000 times over. Everyone is well aware of all the pro's and cons (well I hope NQ is, I still feel this is a job for them, and not a labor of love).
