If the bot order prices scaled off a weekly average of player prices, it wouldn't be a problem. But the bot order prices have stayed the same since beta launch and been refreshed quite a few times. I don't know why NQ is allowing this to continue, or if they even care.

Steel honeycombs are directly responsible for the insane hematite prices.

I am kinda losing hope tbh, so many things are just done wrong. No the dev part that obviously takes time. The simple stuff that just makes game better if anyone would care.

So tell me, if you cannot build anything on the market tiles...

How do you uncompact a ship to get out of the market?
how do you use your blueprint so you can have a ship to get away from the maket?

even if building was not allowed, it would be possible to drop anything with a ship there, or simply land your ship there and make that ship whatever you want (fuel station etc)...

So we don't allow any construct there? which mean you cannot fly there, which mean ... wherever you will land, people will put and drop their own market there!

I agree on the parking side of thing, that's one way it could be dealt with, but people will still find way to abuse that system, because players always find ways to abuse the system!

    1) Add a setting "allow parking fees" checkbox to character screen.

    2) If you check it - once your construct enters market, after 30min your account balance is subtracted X*(core size)*minutes. If your account reaches 0 your construct is teleported to junkyard at the ass of the world so you waste crapton of time getting it back.

    3) If you don't set the checkbox - you can't enter anywhere near public areas the same as "no fly zone" but says "cannot enter parking area without parking fees allowance"

    4) Profit.

Edit: for noob friendliness except new characters from parking fees for 3 days or something after spawning first core + make a tutorial for it, all the tools are already there.

It may be connected to incoming asteroid mining. People (who may have some inside info) now hoarding cores fo staging stations (also there is wave of warp beacons incoming) or some yet unknown industrial use -- like something with energy?

Still, it can be just coincedence of demand spike (as @Emptiness said). Yet, less likely.

Anyway, to be super honest, for several times, rolling around as wannabe journalist, I had this feeling of "latent leaks" in air about incoming changes already. Nothing absolutly solid to point fingers, but some people being suspiciously... propheticaly calm and kinda too prepared for new things, to jump on them from minute one. It also can be my paranoia, of course.

The two options I could think about is:

    1) As you said, asteroid mining + some kind of reinforce mechanic so you spam deep space outposts and it just takes more effort to kill them than to build. You use those as FOBs to get high end ores.

    2) Some kind of solar panels that are efficient at generating energy used for industry.

Those are indeed speculations as we don't know what's coming.

All I did is noticed those weird and suspicious facts, did 1+1 and shared my thoughts as I believe it can be of an interests to the community.

No chance of someone (not in a big org, but wealthy) suddenly deciding to do a mega space project? I agree that this looks very suspicious at first glance.

I would say that wealthy person is wealthy because he is not throwing his money out for no reason. I see no meaningful economic project ATM that would justify losing 200% margin for manufacturing those cores or mass ordering them from a big org that will do it for you.

  5. Fact 1) We all know there is a content patch soon that will bring new features and re-balancing.

Fact 2) It was proven that a specific alliance was given a preferential treatment during the last event (they have been given a hint when they hit the wall to solve the puzzle)

Fact 3) All "Space core unit L" have been purchased at once from the market and are still being purchased even with high profit margin for the manufacturer.

What is it there in the next patch that you need so much space cores so mysterious someone that has this information already(before all the regular players) buys all space cores?

Any org that would have a big project for a space station would manufacture the cores instead of giving 200% margin to the manufacturer so that's not the case.

If when the patch arrives, it suddenly turns out that "Space core unit L" is of high value - this means someone had this information before and was again given a preferential treatment and advantage by NQ insider.

I would say publicity of this could mean coupe de grace for DU.

There is a rather simple solution to this. If you play/build/grind in the "easy mode" sector of space, your creations simply can't leave that "safe" area and there is no PvP, and include a "closed" market with its own unique currency. This would encourage players like yourself to venture out and take the game as a challenge.

Why not replace that "safe area" with another game that is not advertised as "Sandbox MMO" ?

Like I get the the Madis/Thadis/Alioth is already safe and we need the safety for people do their first steps but why there should be any safety anywhere near t4/t5 resources.

  7. Please correct me if I am wrong but I think I am not supposed to subscribe to 10 different you-tubers and 20 twichers to get the information about the game I am playing.

The current communication is just an utter disrespect to the player base. This is a PVP open world game. Any detail/future patch knowledge is advantage.

Currently you need to watch 5 discord channels and regularly hear the boring 1-hour videos to get a glimpse of what's actually coming so you don't suddenly login and all your industry is nil because you missed a message at minute 37th of 4th Interview with MrBigYoutuber that was confirmed on 24th minute in 2nd interview with MrBigOrgLeader where someone from NQ says what it is gonna be with the industry.

There was some event where people were supposed to solve some kind of a problem and then dig something. I don't even know what the task was let alone trying to solve it. The communication is just beyond non-existent. 95% of the playerbase didn't even know about the event.

  8. 1) if elements are repaired it will repair voxels

    2) it can be on a static core in the repair shop

    3) It's smaller than the scanner

    4) Snapshot is what it repairs your ship to. There are 2 types, automatic(created AND overwritten automatically every time you change the ship with "b") and manual(you manually create it when you want, that usually a good idea to create one when your ship is fully repaired and us this).

    5) Repair unit is currently broken and doesn't work at all AFAIK since like a week ago or so. Build cubes, they are easier to repair..

  9. Element destruction is needed, I think every time the element hits red it should 50/50 if it's repairable. Wanna make sure you survive a small crash ? Bring extra in your containers or slap an extra element so you can replace it. That's how almost all full loot PVP games work why reinvent the wheel ?

We can add an exception that crashes have only like 5% of destroying it or something.

The durability thing is a VERY bad idea, Let's assume it's 0-10 imagine you will have 10 slots of the same item with different durability, every time you buy an element do you use it until 6 ? or 5? Do you take 4 into PVP ? Just a mess.

There will be tons of tons of sub maximal durability elements that just lying around useless. Let alone how many glitches it may create as in order to create a ship from blueprint you first need to take your "landing gear M", smash it 4 and repair it 4 times or it's not accepted...

  10. About 90% of the people I play with dumped the game. They still have sub but they just don't login. Some still do but usually only to change the skills of about 20 alts each of them have.

Digging some, building a ship and getting to space is all this game can currently offer. It's a luckster content but I think that's OK for the early game.

The biggest game-breaker is "no sand in the box".

It's advertised as sandbox game but there is no sand in this box atm. People can't affect other people. There is 0 way to have ANY meaningful PVP. There is no way of creating like drama/alliances/enemies as all this is just doesn't matter. Dramas and people fighting each other or spying etc that what makes sandbox games work and self-generate content.

DU Just made a safe heaven with poor toys that get old fast.

rotate core by 45° to side, your "backside" is now 41% bigger, more engines. There would be even better designs which require some pilot skills (player, not in game skills)

I remember the problem was that space Ls take like 60% of you XS core so rotating makes stuff difficult to fit but I didn't try it personally.

  12. I am getting login timeout since like 2-3 weeks ago when trying to login. I tried numerous times and it still doesn't work.

It started happening on 2 different PCs at the same time, I get to the "queue" and then after like 1-2 minutes "login timeout".

Good that I already had expressvpn for watching netflix so I installed the client on windows and I always need to connect the VPN now or it doesn't work. My ISP is Netvision(Israel). My connection is probably much worse due to VPN but it seems in 2020 you need to use VPN, jump of the left leg and aim the mouse with your genitals to play "beta" games.

My internet is 1gbps down, 100mbps up(fiber). Desktop is connected using cat7(red) ethernet cable so it kinda should be OK I guess.

I tried the tool on the website, the script that checks the connection to various hosts and it seems it successfully connects to all the hosts.

I can wireshark the traffic and try to debug but kinda scared anti-cheat will think I am cheating and ban me.

  13. take whatever core, slap back full of L atmos and M/S airfoils.

Slap L space engines on bottom facing down, put a gyro facing up.

Put a required number of containers.

Once you hit 0.1 atmo, space engines will help you pull out. Once in space use gyro to swap your orientation (your top is now your front).

whatever core, full of elements, freaking cube of elements. Show me a design that beats it.

    1kt on XS ? easy.

  15. Like WTF are you talking about.

Like some challenge, someone solving something ?

Should I like watch 10 discord channels 20 youtube channels and be subscribed to 30 twichers(or whatever) to be updated to what's happening in 1 game that I play ?

I didn't even know that there was some challenge.

You say they handed something to some org ? I say they just created private content because most people have lives and don't follow 100500 different game related bullshit videos to get info on how to play it.

  16. 3 minutes ago, Mordgier said:

Yeah....but we all know they won't.

They clearly take the easy way out.

They could have easily actually banned people who dupped or abused the links - but they couldn't have been bothered to do that either.

Exactly. The incident has no relation to guys pressing the in-game buttons to do fun stuff IMHO. Anyone who would notice it would do it for lulz, common it's a game. It's not like they did forge some computer exploit or something.

And I am with you to make noise if they don't reimburse most of your items. I am a trader myself so i get it.

I think there should be punishment.

It would have set a terrible precedent if there was none.

I would have done it more in the spirit of the game though. Bind the player to a rez node in JC's castle dungeon for the crime against Aphelia and call it a day.

An out of game EULA response based on NQ screwing up and in game mechanic that is meant to be abused doesn't feel right.

The spirit of the game is now:

You can steal people ships, blow them up and get them to be yours, harming many players and ruining their game experience until NQ says anything.

You can't press B and dismantle a structure and get 200m3 of blocks + 3 windows because that belongs to the all-mighty ban hammer owner.

To be fair the impact was not minimal.

Impact was massive due to how the markets actually work. The looting of the terminals managed to entirely wipe out all sale and buy orders. Players lost millions. Our org lost all their sales orders on the market. They just poofed.

The guys that did it didn't get that buy orders quanta to their accounts. NQ can easily check the DB of the time the market was disassembled and see the buy orders you had and get you the items/quanta back on case by case basis (yes it's work but they messed up and now need to make up for it).

What I meant is that players didn't get 100500 items that now affect game balance.
