I'll never understand why some people are so intent on prescribing how other peoples playstyles should be. It just so happens some people enjoy the challenge of trying to do it all. You want to limit yourself to the boring task of producing one item be my guest. I buy multiple accounts just so I can "do it all" ...now it seems that playstyle is not in the vision so my multiple accounts have been unsubbed. What folks don't realize is that solo players are actually the majority of paying customers is these games, not because of the number of individual solo players but because we usually have multiple accounts. (it's hard to be self sufficient with one character)

What should have been done would have been to offer the basic schems needed to get a start in the game for free. Then as items produced get more complex they could start charging for them, with the more common ones being dirt cheap and the most rare being the most expensive and difficult to acquire.

We also should not need a schematic for each machine. This could have been handled by uploading them to database's of varying sizes that could then be linked to a series of industries. Small factories would only need the smaller, relatively inexpensive db's, while the mega-factories would need many much larger, much more expensive db's to operate.

I understand why they did it this way ...IMO they tripped over themselves in the process. The upcoming need for power generation will accomplish their goal. The current implementation of schematics has come in as more of a wall than the curb they intended.

Schematics are good and should stay as they add a level of complexity. But implement them so as to add to the fun, not impede it.

I won't be resubbing any of my 3 accounts either.

I'm a solo player and this patch made it clear to me that I am not in the target audience. That and schematic prices are absolutely ridiculous, especially since you need one for each machine.

Making me redo my talents was just a slap in the face on top of it. That should have been handled on a voluntary basis.

"Element destruction will impact the restoration count only when it occurs through PvP, at least for now (not when the ship is colliding/falling as we want to avoid having players penalized simply for crashing their ships because they’re learning how to maneuver them, for example). "

Ships do not explode when you maneuver them , they explode because server " thinks" construct is in one place, where according to the client side it is in different location, in other words, it is a desync issue.

When we crash due to our mistakes we get on and fix them, when it explodes due to poorly coded game we ask for help, simple.

Do not shift the blame on Us, fix the problem instead.

I understand all the features are not implemented, but I think you should consider the order of implementation.  The quoted paragraph above mentions how Trading is not good because people aren't using the markets enough.  Which leads to the desire to have people need to use the market, so the decision was to stop people from just making everything they want and lead them to purchase it instead.   I mean, I see the logic there.  However, consider the source of income.  The ONLY source of any input into the player's ownership of anything other than an empty inventory.  Mining, and the 100k login bonus.

There is no demand for things because we can make things, but there is also no income to buy things other than what we already do to make the things in the first place. Mining.  With recent changes people are forced to sell ore to to the bots and pray someone near them is selling a thing they want.  Item off world? Welp, too bad you dont have a ship yet so mine some more and maybe someday someone on your planet will be selling that thing you like for a price you can afford.

Trying not to go off on all the tangents while I rant, but the core of it is this: Add more input before you force more output.  Add things for players to do to get income, or 'progress' in some form, before adding a vacuum that sucks out income and progress.    This last update was heavy on the output when we do not have nearly enough input.  In a Dev build, its fine if there is no input/output balance because its just QA and focus testing.  But the impression for Public Beta (Paid, but public) is an expectation of playability.  The 23 update kicked that one in the pants and brought all of us to a screeching halt.

Additionally, the skill reset just happened out of nowhere.  Understandable, and maybe even needed, but have you tried to edit that training queue? I had the next 150+ days planned out.  Now its zeroed, with all my other skills.. which i have no idea if i had level 3,4 or 5.  The combination of industry stopping, schematic requirements, and rebuilding my character and queue simply to get back to less than where i was before industry wise...  not just disheartening but hours of work im just not up to doing. WORK mind you, not 'fun game time'.  Not something I look forward to, not like a chore that simply needs to be done.  Someone burned my house down and I have to get in there with a mop and start cleaning up the mess.

I have seen so many video games make this fatal mistake. There will always be solo players and small group players. In fact , solo and small group players are the dominate player base of most games. The Mega corp large group player base is typically the minority simply due to real life constraints. Most players aren't willing to go all in and join a major corp because the simply do not have that much time to invest in the game on a regular basis. I highly suggest you develop this game for all play styles otherwise they will play something else. I recommend implementing alliances for the "lil guys" and expanding player roles drastically medic, various support roles defense support roles, shields, fueling barges, ammo barges. with each of these roles have a skill tree. There should be a fighter pilot skill tree there should be a transport skill tree there should be a trade skill tree the more the better. I think doing everything it takes to to get to another planet should be more rewarding than it is. It takes a fair amount of effort to leave the atmosphere and even more effort to make to another planet. Those accomplishments should be more rewarding establishing another base on another planet should be more rewarding. That's just a couple of things off the top of my head. I really like the potential of this game but there is more to be done.  turning single player / small group players away from your game is dangerous you risk ruining your game. Ohh and the skill point rewards are shit knocking off 5 mins off a 2 day skill is moot.

Did you even do the math? where did you get the 10 mil from the previous post?  12 mil is only the exceptional parts and 5 mil the warp cell. It should be around 20 mil for 1 cell every 50 mins if not more.  Very few people are gonna bother doing this for months just to START making profit. Not to mention that you have to pay a sub to do so. This is ridiculous. The price of 1 cell will get to levels like 50k per cell for a while. Gl bringing loads from the pvp zone with warp. Anyway if you guys think this is okay just wait for the game to die. Then you will realize just how okay this is at this point.

Gl finding people in the pvp zone risking their now irreplaceable ships. No entering the pvp zone because of the risk + no warp because of cost = dead game.
