I really hope there will be a good solution for data export.
Several projects in the community depend on that.

We in our org built in months of work a whole own economy system.
Members can store their ores in our ore deposit, they get "HC" (our own currency) in exchange, and can use these HC in the fully automated shopping center to buy nearly any item for a cheap and steady price (what is important especially for new players). Our players can transfer their HC to other members, or can use them to order something from our industry department (if its not in the shopping center, or a really large order). This system works well and is a great addition and an advanced community creation. (If you are interested, check this video: Hyperion Warehouse and HC-System it's German and not 100% up to date, but you can understand most of the content just with the visuals)

And there are many more complex systems like this from other orgs and players, that rely on sync with external databases, because the DBs in the game are too small to handle this.

All of these advanced scripted community creations would be lost if there is no proper and easy way to export the data anymore.
If we are restricted to just the ingame DBs, this will kill massive creativity in scripting because of the limitations.

    1. bringing in Mining units (yet buggy) and removing the ability to mine ressources on planets
what content you create for those many miners out there? - the would leave the game also those guys who doesnt want to craft or play industrialists would leave the game, casue you force them to craft to get ressources   you bring so much advantages for pvp-orgs cause they can control and own (similar to known recent big org domination) the   asteroids which give good amount of ore   for everybody, once they have an okay-amount of mining units they can not do much more but wait; maybe till they got enough extracted ore to build anything, or quit game cause of boringness   mining units should be an addition to get passive income (with maintaining costs and the minigame if you like)   IF you are 100% sure to remove the ore veins on Alioth and want an surface-wipe, then think about other options like having 2-3 pvp-zone-  and 2-3 non-pvp-zone-planets where you can still mine ressources but for example arent able to place static constructs (advantage: bringing people together to go out mining with one big ship, bringing in more playermissions to bring their mined ressources to alioth, giving more pvp activities if they risk to mine at pvp-zone-planets
    2.  tax of 1m per tile is too much
thinking about IF you stay with the 150k/day (which was said is only for christmas time 1 year ago )and IF a player is able to log in EACH and EVERY day, then this player can BARELY pay the tax for just ONE TILE                                                       how would a player be able to maintain his tile when he doesnt got much time to play throughout a week or doesnt have any  industry? (is the only answer and option here "mission running"/1-5hours flying through void to earn some money on the  other side if he doesnt get shot?)  taxes for tiles are good and needed, but not like that.     maybe with an percentage towards the amount of tiles you have in total

you advertise a game with being able to do and build all you want to.... sadly -you force people to rebuild whole armadas of ships -you force people that way to make ships ugly again -to have an element-meat-shield in space -to not be free in your designing....     The initial thought is fine, that also brakes, airfoils, also the end of an engine, needs to be free of obstruction to work. BUT then give players the ability to enhance one element. e.g. if an players crafts 20 stabilizer L and merge them into 1, this 1 should get around 70-90% of the total stats of the 20 merged stabilizers. This brings so much more freedom of designing ships.. also a good minigame(wheel of luck) and ALSO an consumption of elements - which is so much needed for an mmo with its own player-driven-markets!!
Finally i need to say its cool and positive that since some weeks/months we can recognize an ongoing change in the development of the game and mostly with positive (longterm) changes, thanks so far, but

Ok, usually i am not negative but the balance of Demeter on the PTS server has some severe problems.

    1. Territory costs of 1m per week:
this will lead to almost nobody claiming any tiles any more outside of the sanc moon unless the territory can produce some serious income. so all "player made content" will disappear after some time

    2. Scanning results do not get deleted and show l/h for mining units
this will lead to ALL really valuable tiles being claimed within the first 24h after demeter goes live, as it is really easy to identify  the most powerful tiles for mining units if you have containers full with scanner results.
so after day 1, the fun is over and the "mega tiles" will be claimed by those players/orgs that have all the existing scans.

NQ, as demeter is balanced on the PTS, it would kill the game if it goes to the live server

    - New players some days later would not have a chance to find income opportunities despite missions.
    - earning quanta will be a lot harder, so people would stop spending.. this would kill industrialists workflow.
    - the imbalance between experienced players/orgs and new players would get worse and even more players would demand a wipe or simply not enjoy the game

    please reconsider your decisions.

    Hagbard.

On the damage.. instead of a hard count limit on restoration... make each repair restore only 1/2 of the lost HP. Permanently. Eventually the part will be repairable BUT it won't have enough HP to be worth using in a fight. Even lightly bumping the part would damage it to being broken.

    Hello Noveans,

We realize that the districts currently represent a performance bottleneck, as they are a choke point between markets, institutes and the starting zone for new players. Even though we have identified performance improvements that should help solve these issues, we have decided to make some immediate changes to prevent these issues from affecting the performance for new players, until we are able to roll out these improvements.

So we are making some temporary changes such as relocating many of the services you have come to know and expect in the districts:
New Stand Alone Markets will be moved approx. 2km from the associated district.  All pending orders will be transferred to the new market building.  All institutes will be removed from districts on Alioth and Sanctuary.  A new single Institute will be created near the Arkship.  Transport stations will be placed at all Districts to be able to get to the Institutes.
The institutes appear to be a heavy driver of performance issues, by removing them from higher traffic areas we hope to provide a better market experience for players overall.

Players who log out on one of the affected construct buildings may find themselves in a new location when returning post maintenance. We recommend bookmarking important places and construct locations.

As always, we appreciate your patience while we work, and welcome your feedback on the changes and performance improvements once complete.  We expect these changes will occur over the next few update cycles during October.

    Sincerely,

    The Novaquark Team

Man guys, be real. They didnt expose a bug. They broke down a market including its link to the market system which was never intended to be deleted. They never reported, they only intended to break and remove.

Hilarious would've been leave it intact but add something funny to it like a meme.

    Hello Noveans,

By now, some of you may be aware that unlucky number Market 15 has been stripped bare and left to create ugly memes for generations to come. We’re trying to look at this in good humour as, from the front, it appears to be an issue that was created when we moved the markets, making it editable by players. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist (though we know there are a few of you out there) to understand that the markets are not a community construction, and as such not intended to be handled by players on this level. The destruction of the build isn’t a quick fix, and was clearly done knowing it shouldn't be.

An important aspect we are considering in all cases and investigations is intention. The intention behind this destruction is very clear to us. The players involved did not report this bug to us, but instead simply filled their pockets. Had this stopped with a single voxel removed it would be a different story.  This is, at its core, a violation of the EULA and against the intentions of beta. We have been as understanding as we can until this point, but there must be a line.

Let us be clear, we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour during any phase of the development of Dual Universe.

The players responsible for the destruction of the market have been permanently banned from Dual Universe, and all salvaged materials and assets gained will be removed without compensation.

    Sincerely,
    The Novaquark Team

    Alright.

Things are getting a bit out of hand here.

    @xlDvSlx

Thinking that the DAC system is "Pay to win" is your opinion and it's your right to think that way, even if many people here disagree with you.
However, it's strange that you start a crusade right now on the monetization model as you claimed to be a long time follower of the game.
If you are a long time follower, then you know we never hid what the monetization model was going to be and said it right from the beginning (the Kickstarter Campaign in 2016). If you disagreed on the monetization model, it would have been perfectly understandable to not support the game. Why starting a crusade on this topic now? If you realized what the monetization model was going to be just now or recently, then maybe the real issue here might be "this game is not for you".  In that case, please contact the customer support at support@novaquark.com for such kind of topic. The monetization model has been debated many times, and the Novaquark team has already explained in length why we were going with this one.

For the record, this monetization model has also been adopted by some of the biggest MMORPG, such as World of Warcraft (through the WoW token system, which is exactly the same thing as the DACs) and as far as we know, there hasn't been a huge uproar stating this system is "pay to win". The original definition of "Pay to Win" is the following: it implies you have a system where you can get a specific advantage only by paying. If an advantage can be obtained by playing the game, then, by the original definition, it's not "Pay to Win". Of course all is question of common sense and equilibrium here: if the way of obtaining the said advantage is grinding an incredible amount of hours, making it virtually impossible or irrelevant to get it by playing then yes, it might be considered pay to win in disguise. But we are nowhere near this situation in Dual Universe (or else, you're welcome to give very specific examples, and not vague assumptions. The examples you have given so far are just too vague to be considered as such). On the opposite side of the spectrum, the expression "Pay to Win" have been used and exaggerated many times over the years. There has been excess on both sides.

In any case, starting to say "some people should be shot down", for whatever reason it may be, is a no go and a direct breach with the forum rules.
Also, resorting to personal attack and/or provocations toward those who don't agree with you is just an invitation for trouble and another breach of the forum rules.

This is the first and last warning.

While your post started in an attempt to convince people from your point of view (which is fine), it quickly escalated in provocations and nothing really constructive. So we ask you to change the way you discuss with other community members on the forum (stop being provocative), or your posting rights may be removed (temporarily at first, and possibly in a definite way if you insist in this behavior).

This topic has derailed enough and will now be locked.

    Best Regards,
    Nyzaltar.
