  1. Just to be clear here: there are no npcs in the game. So if you want to rp those people with limited language, you'd have to do it yourself and find other players to help you. Some already have limited language (like me)

  4. You start with two RN nodes (see the devblog about that): one permanent at the ark ship and one in your inventory to place anywhere. They are VERY costly to make but you can have more than those two. Yes they will most likely be camped and we have to assume that the org who built the gate has rdms on that gate (to prevent certain people from using it, maybe tax the gate,...). So yes, they will build defenses there.

I am the right person for this job because: - I know how to code (C++, LUA, Fortran95) - I know a lot about this game - I'm a very active user - I love hard to solve problems that involve math, physics and game mechanics - I dig deep into game mechanics to understand them and to use them in a proper way - I can speak three languages fluently (german, french, english) - I love write-ups of technical topics to educate members Hereby I, Lethys, declare my intent on applying to this job.

They also mention it in some video iirc, there won't be flowing water. It has some kind of border and won't move. But maybe it's possible to implement something like this (which would be cool), but I don't know if that's feasible and possible (server stress)
  8. Not really. Just look at EVE's workaround for that problem and the really really cool gameplay that emerged from there. Yes DU is not EVE and yes, due to different mechanics, it may be essential to have point defense. I merely want people to think out of the box In eve missiles are actual objects (unlike as in DU) and there are Smartbombs (AOE dmg in close range). Once the meta evolved into missile spamming fleets of drakes - so you need a counter to that. People just used some smartbombing Battleships on the edge of each fleet, constantly bombing the area to protect the fleet from incoming missiles. So perhaps there is point defense, perhaps not. The Meta and counters to the meta will evolve anyway

  10. The survival update is on the roadmap, but not for release. Maybe the second big patch (first one wI'll be cvc when goals aren't met). That's said we still have to wait for nq to state their opinion on this matter. Afaik jc talks about it in some ama video but nothing in depth

Wenn die Begeisterung nicht von allein kommt wenn man die Videos sieht mit den gewaltigen Konsequenzen (keine loadingscreens, freie Gestaltung der Umgebung, keine vorgefertigten Schiffe, Untergrundbasen, neue Welten die man als erster im Spiel betreten kann und formt bis der nächste dann eine Stadt findet, die bis dahin unbekannt war,...) dann kommt sie erst, wenn du spielst. Und ja, ich glaube NQ das alles da ich seit Monaten mit ihnen in Kontakt stehe und ein sehr klares Bild von ihnen vermittelt bekomme
  12. Yes I know. It's kinda hard to talk about those HML when you first have to translate that abbreviation to english and then to german and them search through the market to find it....That's why I always enforced using the english client
  13. They ARE already rewarded because they have more money/resources/ships/bases. There is absolutely NO NEED to even widen the gap because they get a skillboost too
  14. I always enforced using the english eve client because even german one was....crap. Those Russians were totally right to do this. Though I truly believe that most will play in english because of convenience (certain metagame, tactics, strategies will use words from DU and those WILL be english). Nonetheless if it's community driven, cheap and easy to do: go for it. Give the community something to and get them involved

  16. Which again only favors 24/7 gamers. Time dependent XP boosts are always unfair to the vast majority of players. Buffs for PvP, mining amount or anything like that is ok. Players who have more time to play still got a huge advantage: they have more money and therefore more resources to spend on ships/bases. No need to give them even more

Nur zur Info: Alpha zugang haben NUR Gold - Unterstützer und Leute, die durch gewisse Verdienste von NQ ausgezeichnet wurden (aktiv in der Community, Content-creator, Ansprechparter für Newbs usw). Also entweder 100€+ investieren oder aktiv werden Und nur weils hier schon heiss diskutiert wurde: Ich glaube nicht, dass die Alpha eine "early access" version wird sondern eine Alpha wie in alten Zeiten. Server laufen nur 2-3mal pro Woche, ständiges löschen der Spieler, bugs ohne ende, kein echtes Gameplay, viele viele Bugreports die man schreibt und womöglich meist geführte Sessions mit Kommandos von NQ wie "Schießt alle in den Boden", "chattet alle", "geht hierhin, tut das". Wenn du nicht wirklich für das game brennst, dann ist Alpha sowieso eine enttäuschung. Closed Beta wird vorraussichtlich Anfang 2017 starten, Open Beta danach (womöglich erst Anfang 2018)

  19. Uhm, what the hell are you talking about? You will and HAVE TO play online in the first place. No one ever will force anyone to play online because this game is online only and everyone knows that.
  20. Ich stehe täglich in Kontakt mit NQ. Als indie Studio wird's vorerst bei englisch bleiben. Das bezahlmodell ist ganz einfach: 13€/Monat. Sein “verschenktes“ Geld ist nicht verloren, sondern wird quasi in Spielzeit umgewandelt. Etwas muss man sich noch gedulden, aber in 3-4 Monaten gibt's dann eine spielbare Alpha Version.
