  1. As I said: combine it with master of orion. You can research all skills as miner without the need for skilling pvp or trade
  2. I'd like to see a mix between Civilization (many low level techs/skills needed for higher ones) and master if Orion (whole branches can be researched without the need if other branches). I don't quite get what you mean by that circular tree though
  3. Well it would break the game if every large enough construct could have those protection bubbles 1 ) So either only static CU can add those shields or 2 ) maybe some kind of anchoring mechanic will be implemented for huge constructs (like such moving stations) with some sort of anchoring timer and then you could activate a protection bubble To me (2) would make sense if that anchoring timer is long enough. (1) would lead to more interesting gameplay and would dig more into the theme of "risk vs reward" but I have a feeling that we won't see much large constructs then
  4. I don't really get why people always think it's the most important thing to have huge numbers. Numbers alone never make up a good org or a successful one. It's the people who make it good at certain tasks. Even when you're talking about pvp/military/tactics huge numbers don't change that much because of several things: - people are stup....special. Half of the people online will not get the commands (fly there!) because they're rambling or not focused enough - many of them don't even have pvp experience and just can't handle all the information, commands and chaos thus making them slow and/or not effective - you'd need huge amounts of bandwidth to handle such numbers on teamspeak or any other server. Or you split all those people but then you need some to pass information to others which confuses many and they then can't fight effectively - Timezones and playtimes. Lots of people think that 1000 people is a huge number for a military for example, while the truth is: it's not. Considering playtimes and timezones you probably have 50-100 people online at any given time Smaller orgs can be way more effective and fun to play in because you don't have to deal with bloated inside-politics, such orgs consist of friends with similar playtimes and no special snowflakes. I need to quote the kitty here: "Everyone always wants to play a leader or a soldier. No one wants to play support"
  5. I would like to see such a thing +1 Interesting concept and it would add to diversity
  6. As pointed out by Nyzaltar already: IP protection won't work because I can switch my IP within seconds to make new alts For the rest: Well, gl in making a new org - you'll need it. No one in here will think you're serious for quite some time. Whatever your reasons (to me they're just plain stupid) I wish you best of luck and hope you contribute to this wonderful community
  7. If it's implemented that way, yup it will happen. There's no info on ava yet, so I don't expect much info on cvc for the next months
  8. Shield it with extra shields (if possible) and lots of armor. That's what we know atm and how it would work
  9. Well there are damage bubbles so it would be sufficient to just shoot in the general direction of the CU, because you can target different subsystems. Depending how good your Intel on that ship is, you know where to shoot anyway
  10. As last time, I object. As last time, this is a bad, standard mechanic for bad gameplay. As last time, it only favors players who participate in that "raid"
  11. Would depend if you're in atmosphere (and gravity) or space ....
  12. I think it was the newest build, they said so in an interview but I'm not sure on that one. Maybe some attendees can enlighten us.
  13. Thanks for sharing and I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys in action in DU Fly fast o7
  14. This would be off-topic not general - but w/e
  15. hey benitius, welcome to the community - looking forward to that design
  16. I'd refer you here: https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/10730-where-would-you-like-to-go/ For all kinds of information on DU I suggest: - https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/forum/2-rules-announcements/ (All DEVBLOG posts) - https://www.youtube.com/user/dualthegame - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-DRi77Q1S7ODGCny1bUIhA oh and welcome to the community
  17. nadann wollen wir mal: as a 3D gamedesigner you have to speak english anyhow so why not start here? I think it's rude to just post something in german, but that's just me Read the devblog and the kickstarter/pledge page and watch the YT videos to get an idea of the game because Travel time: At first there are normal engines which take up to some hours to reach even the nearest planet to alioth Then we will invent (through skills and possible updates) the warpdrive which will take us to new solar systems (up to some weeks travel time) and it takes only minutes within a solar system with that drive Then there will be stargates which can transport you instantanously to a new system. Those gates are linked together (because of the probe mechanics to even build those gates). there are no anomalys planed for release and I think that's something for later updates. Energy: There are already different types of energy and fuel. Skills: They are time based as in eve online and it's a VERY VERY BAD idea if you want to introduce something like a "boss"/library/whatever where a player can find OP skills to train which NO OTHER player has access to. That's just BAD GAMEPLAY Ammo: Look at eve online: only because you use ammo, doesn't mean you do the same amount of damage.....there is EM ammo, thermal, explosive, .... btw: bitte besuch einen Kurs oder sowas und lern die korrekte Rächtschraibung im Deutschen - es ist wirklich sehr grausig zu lesen und später im job tust dir nix gutes
  18. As aesras said- the ship loses all functionality. This game is a sandbox and you can build ships as you like so if the box ship of doom is the most efficient vessel, people will use it. That's the whole point of r&d in the game and to figure that out. Is this pretty? No But it's the way it is, when the meta evolves. You can still use pretty ships to go to war though....
  19. Only backers can found an org sounds like a very good idea!
  20. No there's some sortof of drag in space as stated in the gdc video so ships will slow down to prevent people ending in the middle of nowhere when they accidentally disconnect or go on vacation
  21. You can't send something via script to some other city because you need to be near the construct for the script to work. But some kind of autopilot would work - I'll make sure all those afk autopilot users will lose their ship then
  22. Don't you take my alts away, I bloated the numbers deliberately. 'Twas so much work!
  23. I certainly would never use roads because there is no need to do so. There's no benefit in using it and it even has drawbacks (bandits, no straight line so it's longer). And as twerk said: you can build a road tile yourself and save that BP for later use. Or, if that involves cores, just use painted voxels to make those tiles appear as roads. I don't really see the need for such tiles because to me they're already there and you can already build a road network with streetlights.
  24. I don't think it will be released before june - july though but yes, we're all excited
  25. It's not forbidden so far, that's true. They haven't been active on the forum afaik so to me it's just a very bad attempt (and I commented those already on the community page). You just have to look at eve: there are all kinds of alt orgs and they're legit because you aRE explicitly allowed to do so. So it would be nice to have a statement from nq on this
