I'm excited about the progress. Especially when it comes to Asteorid gameplay.

What I'd like to see is a balance within PVP/Asteroid Gameplay giving me the reason to risk my new Asteroid-Ship out in the belts searching for some ore I don't have. My personal equation is : if the chance% to get some ("Cobalt or Gold" * "the chance% to survive gonna get it" *100) < 5000 - I'm absolutely not interested to your new gameplay. Of course 10000 would be the optimum for me :D but I'm fine if its half of that.

Currently, as it is now, the quotation equals something like 100 ?

We need an Asteroid belt in which you have to be found first before shot down. In that belt there is much more then 3 boulders having rares visible/trackable for anyone from scratch far far away. You have to be there to scan them. That would be cool.

I'm definitely not consider myself to be the cannonfodder for others to enjoy the game.

But I'm hopeful the progress progresses for the good balance :D

    THANKS!

Or if they removed information from the dsat to make it more of a hunt rather than a beacon the second you sneeze in the vicinity of one. Safe Space or otherwise.

Great update but where are features that ACTUALLY MATTER like:

    • Better chat system
    • Company groups for fleet actions or just seeing where friends are a (because you know space is fecking big)
    • Offline messaging (like seriously its 2021)
    • Less dependent on tools not exclusively run by NQ I.E. Discord.

Good content but there are bigger issues than what types of ammo can take a shield down.

I don't think they fully fleshed out these rules before posting them, it's obvious it's primarily for tackling the landfill that is the markets on Alioth.

There is an obvious gap in logic/rules and NQ needs to specify where the line is drawn in situations like this. It's one thing to enforce these rules fully for Aphelia owned tiles- it's another to enforce them on player tiles that have existing structures... the rules and wording is conflicting in this scenario.

it's an edge case, but one that affects several people on this thread it seams.

NQ publishing something that's not ready yet? What? I have never seen this before EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A "company" is a corporate organization. What does it mean to incorporate? Starting a sole-proprietorship means you register and operate a business under your name or a DBA, which means you are fully liable for it. If you get into a partnership, the general partner is liable. People can get together and consolidate their investments to start a limited liable corporation, that is what a "company" means. An incorporation (Inc.) means a fully liable business has been incorporated, so therefore it is now a corporation with plural shareholders.

The problem that I'm trying to bring up here is the issue with shares. A company has many shareholders (investors). It's way too risky to invest in something that has no protection. Incorporating doesn't work! What you call a "share" is a claim! How can I assert that? You can't! Like I said, we got no platform to do that!

To give you the reality, it doesn't work! And here is the game forcing you to incorporate!

You will get automatic mining unit in this game, the industry is automatic and all you got to do is feed it with materials, and retailing is automatic -- you can solo this game with those leverage! Who would want to be an employee when everybody in this game has an equity (as they can all mine with their own equipment on their personal and unclaimed tiles) and they receive 150K of ayuda (financial assistance) everyday. Only an idiot would want to be an employee on a condition like this! They all have the ability individually to employ and support themselves, so why would they work for anybody as an employee? Everyone should be an entrepreneur! Why? Because they all have the ability to generate income out of their own resources! If you can do that, you are a successful entrepreneur, which is easy to do for everybody! Do you have to make any ends meet? Nope, that's why income level doesn't matter on a game that has no survival!

As far as equitable system is concerned, none of these things work! You can play in a group inequitably, I won't, and I will play something else with a sense of equity! I ain't playing a game of slave!

They failed to factor this game for the individual! I mean look at the basic unit of land in this game? It is 1 Km². That is the size of a financial center! If you just made it 5,000 m² and let them agglomerate into an urbanization with no government, this game would have realistically worked! 1 Km² for each player is too big to agglomerate together (30 tiles in this game in a line is just 30 player properties but 30 Km long. It will take you 40+ minutes to traverse that by foot. That is equivalent to travelling inter-city in real-life for just 30 player properties), which means the org will acquire the 1 km² and everyone will centrally live in it! So we are back here again with shares which does not work!

Please stop explaining you are taxing the servers with your walls of text. Too many deltas need to disable mining and remove your sound till fixed.

just get rid of time based talent point accumulation all together.  That was the Worst design decision NQ made. Passive talents are the stupidest thing you can think of. There needs to be some sort of active talent accumulation as well. And no, the achievements don't count. 120 talent points for an achievement is an insult. The AFK gameplay mechanics need to be fixed(i.e. talents and missions).

There's a reason starbase is winning.

    https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=dual universe,starbase

DU is the game with the best game technology and the absolute worst game design. It's a shame. Hate to say it but you need to fire your game designers and get someone good.

This even carries over to the operations skills in the PVP Trees. WAYYYYYYY TOO SPECIALIZED

  5. TL;DR
If I can buy a fighter jet why cant I use it?

Made this post cancer on purpose like their skill trees
Your skill trees are a massive dumpster fire. Why are we restricted to what machines we can use by DAYS of training time? Why can we not just USE THE MACHINES. The same can be said about using weapons on ships. Why can I not take anyone out and be equal to the enemy gunners. The only thing that should matter is the ship. I WANT MY SKILL POINTS BACK FOR SOMETHING USEFUL.

The way it seems this dumpster fire is designed is to be a massive money and time sink to prevent you from enjoying anything resembling fun in favor of an absurd grind that only has a 10% new player retention outside of alpha players and people who have been playing for a while.

    SOLUTIONS:
    - Get rid of the skills required to just simply open the Industry units

-Actually give bonuses for using higher industry on a lower tiered item like craft speed or output.

    - Listen to the community for once instead of saying you are then doing the exact opposite.

    - Get rid of the center column in the DSAT window or actually add a proper timer as you cant do anything in the 10 minutes after you get there before a whole fleet of legion meta ships show up. WHAT HAPPENED TO A SAFE TIMER WHEN YOU GET TO THE ASTEROID WE WERE PROMISED. YOU DONT EVEN GET A SAFE TIMER IN SAFE SPACE.

This game is honestly NOT FUN! There are MASSIVE entries to various aspects and the latest content we got was the biggest gap in gameplay knowledge I have ever seen in a company.

While I agree here should be a benefit to playing but restricting huge chunks of your game behind weeks long training and no easy way to repair your ships automatically or even batch remove dynamic properties from screens.

    Rant Over.

  6. You are only winning because of crashes terrible content design and lack of player base. If he center column in he DSAT worked like NQ said it would you would stand no chance. there is nothing to fight over other than keeping your numbers from growing, its easier to kill your org by not engaging in pvp with your members.

Automining will not help with players who quit the game.  Sure they may say they quit the game because they got tired of hand mining but the real reason they quit was there is nothing else to do in the game that was interesting enough to keep them playing.  Otherwise, they would have just moved to that activity rather than quitting the game.

This is where you are vastly uneducated. In SLI The main sticking point to people quitting the game was nobody wants to mine. The markets are going insane with prices from people not mining and having absurd quanta. Almost none of the active members are out mining.

WE NEED A PASSIVE INFLUX OF BASIC ORES TO SUPPLEMENT PLAYER BURNOUT AND STILL MAINTAIN PRODUCTION.

Markets are going insane because you removed people from the ground for a better way of making quanta and asteroids are only a stopgap bandaid fix. There will not be enough ore introduced to combat the massive inflation.

  8. Why are they all 500m? Why no mega asteroids? Why does the timer show in the middle column the second you step on it? The middle column is useless and defeats the purpose of the 4 hour timer. If they can see what roids people touch the instant they get their rather than 4 hours later feels a little pointless.

Releasing half thought out interfaces are why rdms sucks and most of your menus are trash to navigate.

    Hey !

    I agree with :

    1) Bigger planets and moons

    2) Distribution of ores so that you can craft t2 parts everywhere , although you can use the market easy but that is your point (no need to travel for that)

    3) Graphic  improvements

    Addition :

    - Harvest Trees and rocks and make wood and stone for building purposes... extra materials and extra voxels makes industrialists happier :D

I disagree with the t2 as nobody ever leaves Alioth There is so much to the system yet most people spend 90% of their time on Alioth

While the roadmap is fairly empty, it is achievable AND if NQ manages to add some cherries into the mix while rolling out these updates, they can boast to be able to over deliver on their promises.. Much better than consistently overpromising and not delivering ..

If NQ manages to not at least deliver on what they outlined here for this year, that would be an entirely different problem as they are now setting goals which should be achievable (even) for them.

They trashed any actual gameplay loops to give a reach around to the end game content and PVP orgs instead of addressing the core of the game like higher tier ore regeneration and the new player experience. Who cares about brutes bashing their faces against each other  when market tools are trash you cant create missions as an org. No way to insure a package other than collateral making people pay 300mil for a 100k profit. This game is a joke when it comes to prioritizing the order of importance. Why is there no deep surface mining experience, caves generate below -6000m why cant we explore those and get resources.  NQ needs to stop listening to the PVP orgs and make the game FUN.

For me the big positive is that the roadmap as it is now presented is much more achievable for NQ and inline with their progress so far. It feels like that, with JC out of the way, they are coming around to not overpromising all the fancy things but committing to what they can achieve. And that is certainly good.

On the other hand, asteroids without AvA/AvC mechanics really do not make much sense. Once you get a character on the asteroid you are entirely safe, you dig a hole, drop a core and a container and start mining. your container is safe from harm until the area is clear  to be collected. Potentially, this could be interesting for missions though, you mine out the asteroid, then leave a hauler mission for someone to bring it home and the collateral covers any risk..

From what was "promised" in December by JC most is now not even mentioned. There is no word on:

    • Energy and power management
    • Player Markets
    • Vertex Editor
    • AvA / AvC / CvA
    • Pets
    • Assembly facilities / Mass construction
    • Territory Warfare
    • Second Solar System
    • Stargates

So indeed, there is good and not so great.. And a fair indication that "release" is at least two years away

The roadmap is achievable because its practically empty. This was honestly more disappointing than not releasing a roadmap. At least then we would hope for more girthy teasers.

Yeah i kind agree with your point of view BUT

I dont think you get the whole picture here ...

    Ore prices went up

    BOOOM Natron 70 now 80+ lol at 150 prices ... WAS 50 -55 something

Gold went 900- 1000 plus BOOOM

    Hematite 38+ Alioth BOOOM

If people doing missions then there are less people mining and ore prices are going up.

If all of us "get paid " and half are producing then this causes an inflation and then new poor working people are the ones that hurt most  as they can buy less stuff with high prices.

Same thing happened and still happens in some cases with the pandemic. All people got paid somehow but only half were producing causing inflation and prices to go up.

Now as you may know mining units are coming and this may reduce ore prices and stabilize the market. But depends on how much ore will be extracted and how many people will do it.

As far as now mining is the king of quanta unless you have 20 accounts yeah. But after all if you can only buy THIN AIR out of your hard working quantas then it is not worth the effort .

This is the reason i think many people will turn to industry and make things they need for their selfs and not buying them from markets overpriced. Because they can mine and have the ore and then turn it into something usefull.

    YES BUT THIN AIR ?

Seems like auto miners can round out this issue ?

I'm saying this is a pay to win mechanic.

Also you state its the same thing as a whole org doing it, but that would assume that the whole org would voluntarily just give away all the money to 1 person.

By that logic every single aspect in the game could be taken advantage of that way. By punishing that one playstyle you are punishing larger orgs who don't see it as abusive. Another way to combat him making that much in one run is to literally camp him and blow him out of the sky so he wastes 2 hours of logging in.
