Guys, the problem is a technical one and quite simple : - Demeter patch hit everybody at the same time. - So tax bill must be issued for the whole player base at the very same time. - This means a permanent stressful server overload every week at the very same time. It is very much preferable from a server perspective, if he can deal with taxes one after the other with some pause inbetween. No big deal. What is really surprising is the fact, that the developer who designed that , did not think about it. Its a classic problem ...
  4. Polls showed numbers. Ridiculously low numbers. They showed how many people participated in the polls. Those numbers were 2 digit numbers. I would also try to hide that.
  5. Oh well, please realize that you are talking to CREATOR. He is not a new player at all. All he did was to point out, that this might be a real problem for actual new players.
  6. Mini game / mining units are boring as hell. Borderline annoying. Before demeter I was warping basically every day around. Supply was no problem, if I needed more, then I just dug more. Warplines were spitting out little warp crystals, and fuel tanks were always full. No more. Everything is rationed. Even slow boating a big ship is now considered to be expensive. All I can do is play with my remaining pre-Demeter resources. All progress is gone. Unsubbed. Game is not worth paying money for it.
  7. Ok, I demand that people who comment ,understood the argument. Good luck with your Bauxite or whatever T1 rocks to create some space fuel. Did you find T2 yet ? Then we can start a real debate.

Ok. let's try again to explain why I reported this as a bug: - we will assume for simplicity that there is a complete wipe, and all players start at sanct. - so some make it to alioth with the ingame shuttle and want to start to explore the "universe" - space tech requires T2 ore - space fuel requires T2 ore - Tier 2 mining units require T2 ore to be built. And there we have a problem. Because the pts scans showed quite clearly, that T2 ore is very rare on the the inner planets. But you don't have T2 mining units yet. One needs to fly to space to find T2 somewhere else. And all this with those 3 NON RESPAWNING 20 liter rocks that lay on the earth ??? Who is doing game design at NQ ? How can NQ-Cosmos tell me, it was never intended to have a respawn for surface rock ? It was never intended to eliminate the normal mining gameplay. But that has changed. So surface ore respawn has to change. I am reporting this as a bug, because it is a serious bug in gameplay design. And a support guy giving me this answer is ......

It is absolutely necessary that surface ore respawn is functional. At the moment, there is NO surface ore respawn on planets like Thades. This is a serious bug. Do NOT release demeter with a defective surface ore respawn mechanism ! I reported this bug several times now, and I got ignored again and again. Obviously somebody did not consider this to be important. Do not ignore this again ! It needs to be fixed ! Thank you. The problem is caused by this : - player X claims a territory for HIMSELF - player X drops a static core for his org Y - player X places mining units on the static core that is owned by org Y -> player X can not operate the mining unit, because he gets "Unauthorized request". So either claim the territory for the org, or you must drop the core for yourself. Already filed a demeter bug report for this.

  12. Total agree. A rough calculation tells me : the game is NOT fun anymore. So why should I pay for it ? These game mechanics would be ok (and expected) for a free to play game. But here I am paying real money. And what do I get ? I was used to bring home 100 to 200 kilo liters of ore PER DAY. What NQ gives me now is a fraction of that. They hinder my progress. They slow me down. This is the opposite of fun. Who is doing game design at NQ ? You want players in your game ? Then motivate them. I can not see motivation here. Its the 0.23 desaster happening again. Some detailed problems : - demeter will cut me off T3/T4/T5 supply. I would be forced to do PvP asteroid mining to have access. - Scans are listing T2 but it is by far to rare. I have detailed maps on the old ore distribution around my base. Demeter is practically removing T2 from the surface. It is quite rare in only a few spots. - Ore yield is simply off by a factor of 10 AT LEAST. who on earth designed that ? Any stupid guy doing surface mining is faster by several mangitudes ...

  14. The management / dev team is NOT learning from the past. Whenever you introduce functionality and then afterwards take it away without compensation, you are creating frustration. That is a simple rule in psychology ( like introduce a nice sweet lolly to a little kid and see what happens when you try to take it away ). So after patch 0.23 that pissed off many industry players, a way to create automated industry with less transfer units was introduced as valid game play. For unknown reasons, this gameplay seems to be undesired now, and the sweet lolly is gone. The reaction ? As I player I take only a certain amount of kicks in the ass from the dev team. Sorry I am no more bowing to you , waiting for the next kick. Uninstall. Sub Renewal canceled. Playing New World anyway now. Beta was good fun. CU DU.
  15. To begin with, I must admit, that the building part and the flying around part of this game is super fun and extremely addictive. The hunt for high value ore ( not T1 ) can be fun. For a while. And then you start to ask yourself : "why ?" And after a while you realize, there is no reason to play this game. You spend hundreds of hours to mine your ore, to build your base, to marvel at your latest constructions .... ... and then you look around and see : nothing. nobody. And when you try to evaluate, WHY you need to mine that meganode, the only conclusion is, fear. Fear, that sombody else might take it away from you. You have to be first, or its gone. That is the driving force in this game. And honestly I hate that. I have decided, that this game is not good for me. because of that. In eve online I can go on holidays, and rest assured, those belts will be fresh and juicy whenever I log back in to continue my gameplay. Same in World of Warcraft. I can stop my progression whenever I want, log out, have a good rest and sleep well, and continue my gameplay happily some days later. Not this game. this game destroys real life. Because its main gameplay is driven by this instinct, that one looses stuff when NOT playing. And of course I simply miss content. I honestly expected to find a better eve online here. I was looking foreward to build cannons and shoot everything thats moving in space. Now guess what, nothing is moving in space. I did not realize when I subbed, that the devs clearly ruled out NPC combat. ever. Not my game. sorry. I am a mission runner. Again, not my game. Well, and the bugs. Sure, its a beta. I have been watching what the devs are doing during the last 4 months. I installed some logic gates on a dedicate wall with some buttons. And after every patch I tried the buttons. And after every patch, those super simple logic gates still failed. For 4 months. And we are talking about a super stupid XOR gate. Every day I was fighting my way through the silly login crashes. And I was wondering : " If they can not fix a single XOR, how on earth are they supposed to EVER fix that complicated crash when the game engine is starting " ? In other words, I lost hope, that this game could turn into something that I like. Thats why my sub is running out. Bring content, and I will have a look again. And no, nobody can haz my stuff. cu.

  17. This is simply a must have function. At least for static cores. It is actually debatable if it should work with dynamic cores, but to completely reorganize your machines from scratch is nothing but a pain in the ass -> VERY negative user experience.
  18. 106 is a "good" error. It means the server is already running, but not available to the public. be patient.
  19. Die Meldungen sind im Prinzip korrekt, aber extrem Nerdig. Wenn der Server komplett Offline ist, kriegst due den HTTP Fehler, weil deine Zugangsdaten nicht verifiziert werden können. Nach einer Server-Wartung, wird der Server zunächst als Privater Server gestartet, damit nicht alle sofort drauf losstürmen. Dann können die Admins in Ruhe ausprobieren, ob er stabil läuft. Danach machen Sie die Pforten auf, und das laufende stabile System wird zum Public Server. Das ist ganz normal. Nur der Begriff "User Experience" muss dem DevTeam von DU wirklich mal erklärt werden.
  20. I disagree. I am setting up quite a little factory atm. And what I can see, that simply the amount of machinery defines my throughput. But the more one has, the more complicated it becomes to handle the setup. So what I whish for would be to have a control desk, from where I can load complete snapshots of setups into my machines. Like today I need basic parts to craft more machines, the next day I want to build some ships. So a few configurations that can be uploaded would be so helpful ... And this kind of mechanics does not affect my throughput. It is not gamebreaking.

  22. The whole thing seems to be intentional. Yesterday I was enyoing a nice login queue ( like 650 ppl in front). Trying to use my time sensefully, I was playing around with video settings. I was at queue position 300 when I decided, that playing in windowed mode might be the better choice, because I have a multi monitor setup. Well, the system responded with "you have to restart the game". Funny. Reaching queue position 105, I found my self suddenly troubled with an "connection error". Patiently was I waiting for the promised "reconnect attempt", but of course that never happened. I gave up and restarted the game client. Half a bottle of wine later, I really made it into the game. Cooooool. Beeing an ex eve player, I immediately started talent training ( who wants to waste those points ? ). Man how I regret that some minutes later, because the intro tutorial got stuck, because the training queue was already full ..... Another client restart fixed that, and then the day was over. So exiting.
  23. Same happended to me, but I got "Internal server error" messages. What I figured was, that the tutorial area in which you can dig is actually very small. And if you try to dig outside of that box, you get an error. For me, the experience was very frustrating, because the direction that lead me closer to the ore just produced errors. So i finally gave up.
  24. Same here. The mining tutorial let me fall into an underground sea. very funny. And now all the construction tutorials have no floor anymore ? If I enter them, I am falling into various strange places. I was playing in windowed mode with shadows completely disabled. Maybe that caused it ? How do I get the floors back ?
