all i did was maneuver tool ships into the air and catch it with another ship that is physics enabled. nothing more if you try it you will see its that easy. in 0.23 NQ changed the way docking worked so that if you stand on a dynamic construct it will enable physics on anything maneuvered... that was an intended change and one announced in the patch notes outside the game.

happy to... even though they also destroyed my ship and took it to pvp space from a safe zone and took 20mil worth of warp cells that I bought with ore mined from the ground.... am more than willing to compensate them and will still accept a ban if NQ sees it. had only done a single haul of ships out before I stopped and since this has been made aware of being not allowed had stopped.  that all being said i only used the games tools everyone has access to and didnt do anything that was directly against the code of conduct or eula and wish that the forum post they had about not doing this was included in those other documents.. i even reported myself and the reproduction when this was all made apparent.

place your blame on me and not NQ for allowing it to happen so easily and burying rules in a forum that isn't apart of the code of conduct or the ender user license agreements.

NQ lives in a lalaland. They can't make a simple game mechanic work and expect people that are paying them to go to the forums, read 100500 pages of half obsolete posts and figure out what is and what is not part of their "emergent" gameplay.

I know some "free" games that do better.

Moreover they swing the ban hammer if people press buttons to do stuff in their "sandbox" game.

I knew about the possibility of this but never exploited it nor tried because I read that topic.

Getting another person banned because he didn't and there is 0 in-game links etc to that post is silly. We are not supposed to read and figure game rules on forums, we are supposed to play a damn game we pay for.

It's a sandbox game, it's all about doing "emergent" stuff...

There was a person yelling about it about a month ago on official discord, he said he created a ticket as he found a way to dock other person constructs to his. What NQ did ? Jetpack switch.

  2. It's a real Dual Universe

Universe 1) Full of people dreaming about "creativity" and stuff having no idea what people of full loot PVP sandboxes do and how precious carebear tears are for them.

Universe 2) Full of EVE veterans that are used to this kind of things and wonder wtf the game is full of bears and where is my pvp.

Kinda NQ responsibility to chose which they want or make universe to fit both types but they fail in it as in everything else atm.

Yup I had the same thing in talamai fight too. My ship only had 2 gunners, and despite both having 100% probably of hitting. Only 1 gunner would land shots,  while the other had 100% misses. And ive constantly experienced this in 1v1 situations so its not isolated to "big events". And that is what is truly worrisome. We all hope NQ has a trick up their sleeve for 0.24....but the reality is we get a dev blog about how now you have to push a button to activate your jet pack. Wonderful.

yea, and the RoF skills in 0.24 still work opposite direction ?

The more pressing issue tho, is after 5 years of game development is NQ has been unable to have any size fleet fight actually "work". One of the streams I watched had the worst bugs and desync through out the whole fight.

We had almost the same at that telemai blockade fight :-(. Only 1 of 7 gunners got hits, rest were all misses with hit bar showing 100% hit. It seems it randomly affects people or something and due to not having that much opportunities to check this we are yet to find a solution.

  5. So...

Was me and like 10 other folks in X-Wings from CVA the only people that were shooting event ships and kinda trying to play the event ?

We were waiting for that thing to start in rebel chat. I did see BOO going in and starting the shit show with AC etc. Imperials were outside the safezone so we decided to roll out and started shooting everything with imperial in it's name.

We did kill like 20 or so ships, most XS, some M/S. lost 10 X-Wings give or take. Was fun. I didn't see any rebel cap ships tho.

Some L core imperials arrived and starting shooting us. We took our L core(we couldn't make it to look like a rebel ship so it was like that alien living ship race) and instantly got focused by 6 or so L-core AC ships... 6 AC + 1 imperial vs 1 our ship was not the fight I want to take so we pulled back.

We did have fun tho. The X-Wings vs Imperials shooting went on for like an hour.

It seemed like the tie fighters and deathstars were losing pilots from like first shot as they were just sitting still after couple of shots.

It's also possible that such activity falls under the exploiting game mechanics clause, and can result in punitive action when reported, along with a refund of some kind to the victim.  I think just adding to the reputation system would be less headache for everyone at the end of the day, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

You mean like the creator of the mission should ensure the mission taker is able to glitch free access the delivery box in Dual Universe beta or the mission creator gets disciplinary actions against his account ? Yea that definitely works.

Yea and regarding that rating system, I have hmmmm 12 alts if I remember correctly, 2 of my friends have about 20 each. I think the other guys mentioned logging in to get the daily takes about 20min from all of the alts too so I think my rating will be high enough. No worries.

BTW, the title that can be edited by the "mission creator" is nice as well.

Can't wait to see "WTS StarDestroyer,  DM AnotherNonCreativeVoxelmancer#1234 on discord" missions for 1 quanta in reward and 1bil collateral.

  7. For me my VPN I am using for Netflix is kinda "have to" now to play DU. (I use express)

Otherwise I can't login, if I do everything loads up VERY slow.

With VPN I can at least login, it takes time for elements and stuff to show up but not sure if it's supposed to be like that.

I have 1gbps down 100mbps up fiber connection that shows up as 80% of that on any speedtest site so it's not like my internet is slow.

If you  build a proper ship with voxels that actually are used for pvp, it will take literally hours to kill it. It's all wars of attrition. And because that's the meta, smaller ships are useless because they can only fit so much voxels and can only use guns relative to their size.

and we got it because people that had 0 experience in PVP cried that "xs cores are overpowered" so they got double nerfed(guns + lock range). Now they will cry it's too expensive to get into pvp...

The current combat is 2 twitch streamers taking S cores and shooting each other 50km away from safezone "until first blood" and calling it PVP in a sandbox game or the one you explained. Don't know which is more stupid/boring.

It's not only the game design that is lacking, it's the whole approach that is conceptually inconsistent.

NQ appeals to the casual players so they make safezones all around so casuals don't get blown up by hardcore PVP players but then NQ turn casuals off by forcing them to fly 30min each time they want to move anywhere (30min flying is only fun for the first couple of times, then it's just staring at the screen). Let alone that casuals have to stare at expanding circle for hours to mine enough to be able to fly anything decent.

NQ appeals to the hardcore PVP players but then gets them bored af because there is literally 0 risk vs reward factor. There is no kills in PVP unless pirating, there is 0 reason to fight anyone and if you do you just both lose resources and that's all.

I think JC was thinking that making a "sandbox game" is a magic that makes the game work on it's own. He didn't know that you need a very good box and a lot of sand for that to work let alone know EXACTLY what you trying to achieve beforehand.
