Obviously things around the DU community are slow, but here is another update.
 
BOO will be playing Eve as one of our main games, and have several members on board already, as well as some new faces from Eve joining us in the game. Fun times are to be had, and with it going F2P on the 15th, there is no reason not to try it out. Whether you want to join BOO, or just tag along for fleet roams, or just have general newbie questions, reach out to us. We'll help.

Even though Wilks says he will hold a player for 48 hours - which is a long time for regular gamers to not play - it also opens up the door to multiple forms of abuse by griefers.
 
Make it a punishment yes, but make it to where both the victim/offender are actively involved. Not just logging in to only stare at a blank wall.

BOO has reached 10 members as of yesterday! After a week we've done a good job in roping back in the core group we had with the previous org. It's nice to have some loyalty.
 
I am also working with Aetherios at the moment on getting some signature templates done. I then I get to fumble with Photoshop while I figure things out to try and make signatures for everyone. Should be interesting I guess.

Yeah, I don't think everything needs to be set in stone - especially this early on.  And I don't think organizations are really "needed" for cooperation between players and I'm sure we'll be cooperating with some orgs and free spirits alike.  Most of all I like taking a casual approach and am open to pretty much anything.  As long as everyone is having fun, that's all that really matters to me.

you should consider band of pirates, being a memeber one of my goals is to make coalitions or architypes for specific play styles. in accordance with league rules just something to consider.

hey we are a small organization that are looking to recruit people who, are interested in mining, building, being an dimplomat, and being in to politics.

i cant speak for boo but im sure they wouldnt mind it.

Even if some of us are trying to make it happen sooner rather than later. 

I'd like to see sandstorms that are so thick that they block out the light and are visible from space.
 
Something like this would be awesome to experience in DU, and I can't think of many (or any) games that have this:
 

 
 
I'd also like to see Thunderstorms and Snowstorms, though I don't know if the engine would support "real" snow and rain, or they would just be textures. 
 
Would storms have an effect on players/ships/etc?
 
 
I'm not asking for real-world modeled weather patterns, just the occasional random storm and perhaps natural disaster, though I guess natural disasters are a whole other topic. 

There are some nations forming.
 
I don't want to speak of anyone else's behalf but csyn is trying to pull off a kind of eu feel though I geuss that's not really a nation in itself. It's tough though we have allot to figure out still. Csyn itself isn't so much an nation or guild itself it's a collective broker.
Even so I've got a lot to learn and together a tough road ahead.
 
I have hopes to work with everyone for making cities in Alioth relative neutral zones after a while and possibly the space stations around it.

lol the lady has spoken may it be so, long live the lady. i hear you though i was thinking like nations with there own ecnomies counter to that of the organizations just so you dont have a bunch of clans running around for no reason. give us a reason for a galactic counsil of nations!

knowing that the world or worlds will be ours to shape here, do any of you think that there will be Nations or cities that are structrued diffrently then your typcial organization with 1 or 2 legats. im thinking like full flegded democracy or something similar? i might be grasping at straws but what does everyone think? 

Sadly, in games like EVE, democracy went out the window real quick, real fast, in favor of a dictatorship system. The option was stil lthere for a voting enclave or a council, but people chose the dictatorship route because it solved many an issue. DUAL has some different approaches on its system though, which may mitigate the need for a dictator who can oversee everything below their station, like the in-game money account, to check people who suddendly got "paid off" or, putting it bluntly, got greased, in your organisation.

There will be a nation. It will be called Astrum, and I will be it's Queen! *creepy laugh* 
 
In seriousness, I think it's possible that nations will be formed and ruled by more than 2 or so legate. 
 
Personally, I have very long term ambitions for a city, which would be a peaceful haven, and a war-free territory, and it's possible I'd want others to help with it, but sometimes power corrupts and it's best to keep the usual pyramid structure, at least for security reasons.
 
That said, maybe someone can start a Free People's organization where everyone has equal power and equal say in what happens. Could work, or perhaps it would be chaos, but who knows.
