  1. Simple it isn't supposed to be safe 24/7 or at all. It is a risk you are taking to put an interdiction over a large area of space. Don't have the manpower to protect it don't place it. I would like to see some AI defense added because even ground bases aren't even going to be safe 24/7 if planetary warfare comes.
  2. In another space sandbox MMO I played. The developer took the copies of every ship ever created and made those NPC ships. Random pirates or raider attacks. It saved him a lot of work. Even if it was a bad design it just meant it was an easy encounter. If it is a good design well expect a fight. I personally am a bigger fan of just giving reason for PvP. Strip tier 4 and above materials from inside the safe zone. Introduce the warp interdiction mechanics I suggested in my thread on it. And make people go out and trade, explore and fight over resources and routes.
  3. Just because a CM leaves doesn't mean the game is dying. How many CMs has CCP been through for EVE? How many CMs has WOW been through? How many CMs has Star Citizen been through? It is a position that is very volatile and people come and go in it and move on to other jobs.
  4. If you have an active sub then you have nothing to worry about. Stop playing the victim. Players who signed up after beta release had 30days free I believe. After that it was a recurring charge. Of they didn't renew they are unable to access. Alpha players have till end of beta then you have 3,6, and 12 month free subs I believe. A few kickstarters have a few other perks.
  5. Simple. If you have shown zero activity in 90days odds are in favor of you not coming back. And if NQ really wanted to be nice they could send you an email letting you know about your inactivity. Not like your character is deleted your junk is just scrapped. LoL. Punishment? No not punishment, but motivation to stay active or store your stuff properly if you are going to take an extended vacation. It isn't hard to give access to your stuff to someone you trust. Or just maintain an active subscription when that is implemented. Stop coddling people.
  6. Fair enough. Let me ask you why should they be returned to someone who is obviously not coming back?
  7. For me I have always been a fan of sci-fi games with some form of realistic space flight. I discovered DU back during the early days of the project, 2012-14. I remember pledging just before the end of alpha because I had honestly forgot about it. And to be quite frank, I have felt I got more for my money than I have out of Star Citizen.
  8. I play solo now. But I was part of an org of 20 people at one time. Now it is mostly me with one or two guys logging in every so often to train skills. I don't mind I have always played at a small scale and I keep it that way. I didn't mean to quote.
  9. No offense it makes zero difference how many EVE clients you can run. Hell I can nearly run Eve on my phone. The difference is DU is pretty poorly optimized right now. If you are in an area with a lot of constructs or making a lot of changes. And there is a lot of Lua script running in the area you can overload the CPU and cause this issue.
  10. Exactly. It helps players generate content, and it can provide some very interesting situations.
  11. And other sandbox MMOs let their stuff sit in decay if they don't pay their token fees for the land ownership in game. Wurm Online.
  12. It's true.. but I can confirm it is the Lua. I go near some places in Alioth with a lot of Lua use and I will watch my performance tank. Same for Talmai. Anywhere there isn't a lot running I am fine. Or of people would turn off Lua that aren't in use.
  13. I doubt there is a Lua exploit. It is just a lot of ships running Lua in the same area. Perhaps people should run less Lua and get better at doing things themselves.
  14. Simple suggestion. No active sub, this means all of those beta players who played for a month then quit or any player on the free trial and quit. After 30 days any dynamic core left on a market or unclaimed tile is open for claim by anyone. Territories and static cores go free after 90 days. Don't like it keep an active sub.
  15. Simple fix... Any dynamic core left in a market or unclaimed tile for longer than 30days with no active subscription should go up for grabs. Any static core on claimed land should go up for grabs after 90days of no active sub. Simple.
  16. To be quite frank. I just want to be able to attach an atmosphere radar to the same chair as a space radar if I have the capacity for it.
  17. So myself and a couple of players were talking in discord about the possibility of a warp interdiction module. How it would work, how expensive it would be and what you could put it on. So the suggestion goes like this. Warp interdiction module can only go on medium, large and XL space cores, not on dynamic or static cores. They can not be placed in safe zones, so no placement within 2su of a planet. They will come in 3 sizes. Medium, large and extra large. Medium- medium space core or larger to place has a 1 SU interdiction sphere around it. Large- large space core or larger has a 2su sphere around it. Extra large- 4 su sphere around it and can only go on extra large space cores (when we get them). The interdiction will pull ships out of warp that's path crosses through the sphere, and it will drop them out half way into the sphere. You will not be able to warp out of the sphere. And you will have to leave the sphere and wait the pvp aggro timer before you can jump away. But if you know where these stations are you can put together a fleet and destroy it or just go around it. Also nothing will prevent you from going through the sphere at sunlight speeds. These systems will be moderately expensive to make and not something that can be easily accomplished by individuals or small orgs. But something that a medium org or a well organized org can do. The hard part will be defending these stations as you will not be protected by the safe zone. This will allow for the ability for groups to blockade a direction or even a planet if they had enough of these. And it would give some real reason for PvP. I discussed this with several people even people who are not PvP oriented players. We think this is a good well rounded suggestion for the system.
  18. The idea of AvA is needed but honestly territory capture is just as important. I would be happy with ground based combat dueling mode. Were two players can choose to fight each other in atmosphere or on the surface.
  19. Maybe because I pvp in other games. I only mine here... I am not bothered by the prospect of PVP. And I take precautions to avoid it...
  20. I believe interdiction is in the works... But a ways down the road. Warp cells are cheap now, but a finite item and eventually they will become expensive and less common. If they added land warfare or planetary combat we will see a real shift in PVP dynamics. Slowing down warp isn't going to fix anything.
  21. Not just Alioth. Honestly I feel if a construct is left in an unclaimed territory for more than two weeks or in a market territory for 1 week untouched it will go to unowned. Allowing people to salvage it.
