    Morning NQ,

I'm so confused as one GM said it can be done and another said it cannot be done.  I refer you to ticket 48481.

We have requested that an inactive parent super legate is demoted so we can try to resolve a multiple number of issues with our city and transferring everything to this sub org to enable building to once again happen.  In this ticket response to our super Legate (btw I am legate) on the demoting it is saying in around about way 'tough' you need to wait for the inactive person to return?  How? the person has left the game!.  You have helped in a similar situation on another sub org so not sure why this one is an issue?  Do you want us basically to twiddle or thumbs or reach out for help as requested.  (I have SS where your GM said they CAN DO IT in reply to a different ticket).

We therefore would love you to look at the ticket.  Also a bug not having is reply to is 'too many constructs owned' the person has level 5 and certainly in my construct lists there is nowhere near that level!!.

NQ we want help and a solution not just words.

    Thank you

    Honvik

    Premier of the Empire

They have helped me several time as the super legate of Chem Dogs. I have had leadership leave and being unable to demote is a big issue. I hope your ticket gets checked out. They used to get tickets done pretty quickly, I haven't been that active recently though. I used to post every couple hours on the support section in the discord and they always said they can't escalate but it would get solved much more quickly if I kept badgering them.

  2. Ah worlds adrift man I loved that game. It could have been truly great. When my buddy and I started Dual Universe we said to each other this is kind of like the feeling of awesome potential Worlds Adrift had. Down the line we are now saying to each other I hope this doesn't end up like worlds adrift did. Because not listening to the community is not the step to go.

My small organization miners myself included were not happy with the Q&A we do not want linking gone etc. Mining vehicles would be awesome, something needs to be done to make mining more enjoyable not just locate a node mindlessly click it and find ways to transport it.

  3. I used to play elite a lot but the grind for everything got too much. It got to a point where I wasn't having fun I was just grinding just to grind because of the way the mechanics are set up. I bring this up because I fear DU is going the route of tedium.

I understand trying to balance things and I will still test this patch and future patches however I do not think the current direction is where the majority of the player base wants it to go. I have ten percent of my organization left playing. Out of that 10 percent left 90 percent are in complete disagreement with this upcoming patch. Patches should be something to be excited about and add content not more tedium, more grinding, and a throttle to fun gameplay. If you wanted to limit creativity to make this game only operable by hard core big groups than I guess that is where this is leading in my mind.

I was trying to stay optimistic and was hoping and still am that NQ has some card rolled up their sleeve and have some content to go along with this throttling of fun update but that optimism is starting to look like foolishness.

Will NQ be doing anything about players who abandon ships and/or structures and never return to the game? Or just  leave a ship sitting at a market or other public place for days or weeks?

If a ship has been sitting on a hex that doesn’t belong to the ship’s owner or org for more than a month, it should be open to salvage. Same goes for abandoned structures. If a player doesn’t have an active log in for more than 60 days, they should lose their structures and territories. That would help speed up some of the lag issues and provide an incentive for people to stay active.

I am also highly curious about the answer to this because there are several abandoned ships near our territories on Alioth and no one has been on them in months. Atleast  you can manuever ships on your territory away from building projects.

its one of those fixes I think that might just break more than it fixes.  Suck it up an hope that they can get the server more stable is my humble opinion.

After the whole link container issue and the history of updates breaking things when they try to tweak something you may be right.

  6. I do a lot of mining and so do a lot of people that I play with regularly. While scanning Hexs a lot of us experience being disconnected multiple times throughout the day while our scanners are just finishing or nearing 100 percent done. This causes us to have to restart the scanners and waste the 15 minutes we waited in the first place.

I wish that there was a system where if you get disconnected or are logged off for less than three minutes after a scanner is finished and log back in within those three minutes your scan results are still there and don't disappear. Until the servers are stabilized further and disconnects are minimized have the game make you restart your scanners makes an already grindy time loop even worse. If I had to add up all the time I had to wait an extra 15 minutes it would probably equate to several hours or more of game time.

What is your thoughts as the community on this? Should we just suck it up and deal with it as one of the many growing pains of Dual Universe or do you think the Devs should tweak the system a little bit to account for frequent disconnects while scanning territories?

I appreciate all feed back. I usually don't post topics but this issue has been annoying me greatly.

Along with the ghost nodes issues its starting to add up to reasons why a lot of the miners in my community of 60 players have quit the game until further updates and I hate seeing players that I've played with since alpha just get fed up to the point they don't even want to play anymore.

  7. I would love to see some form of renewable resources implemented. Its an mmo no reason to have finite resources.

I am not satisfied with wrecks in the game currently as I feel they are too sparse and do not reward well enough to warrant looking for them.

I think the damage feature upcoming is not what people want the focus to be on. Half of my organization has quit until meaningful content updates and those that quit when reading about the new update in December  maneuver tool and damage they were pretty upset that is where the focus was on.

I have not heard any meaningful news on actual content updates coming maybe I am looking in the wrong places but DU seems to not have a good area of information flow coming out of the PR department.

  8. I have seen them doing quite a bit of advertising on facebook and other places. I think they are starting to branch out with advertising. However I do not think this game is ready for a steam launch I would rather them wait than have the game get review bombed. This game while I love it at the moment is niche until more completed polish and features. Not everyone likes dealing with early access alpha/beta games and what comes along with it.

    same here

what really annoys me is that i dont even know the root of this problem

is it a local client thing? is it a serverproblem? a world generation problem? are these cheeky invisible nodes, implemented on purpose to get activated when we mined out too much ore in a year or something?

what really bothers me is: do these ghost nodes impact the territory scanner results

im hunting a 1.6m hematite ore node on my territory for hours now, not knowing if it really exists

an answer by NQ will be very welcome and could potentially save me and others ALOT of time and frustration

I don't think it is local client based as I've had a whole big group of people come from all over and try to find a few of them and we've collectively wasted probably over ten hours on these ghost nodes. It always happens after we mine one super node worth 1000kl or so and then we go look for the other 2000kl in the hex and can never find any.

  10. I have tested this with my organization Chem Dogs on several hexs throughout the system, Alioth and Talemai and Talemai moon 1 and 2 mainly. We scan a hex get 2 million bauxite for example and we mine out one super node worth 750kl-1000kl and there should be 1000kl left in another node and we cannot ever find the other nodes because the scanner leads us back to the mined out super node or leads us to an area where the detector doesn't pick anything up and there is nothing there. It is extremely frustrating. We are sitting on many scans with millions of ore left in the Hexs and cannot find the ore even with full mining teams scouring the hex. We've been playing since alpha and early beta and know what we are doing and it gets extremely annoying hitting this problem over and over again. Out of my 60 person organization about 40 of them have quit the game until it is updated more and fixed as these problems start to add up over time.

@Helediron I love your scripts btw big fan!

  11. With shipwrecks being so rare currently I think they should give a large reward upon finding them. I have yet to come across one personally. But I have no motivation to look for wrecks if I can mine and make a huge profit and supply my organization with everything we need to thrive. I feel like at this point if I went looking for shipwrecks I wouldn't be contributing to the organization and not being a helpful member as where other gameplay loops the contribution is easily seen. I would like them to add more shipwrecks and maybe some kind of abandoned precursor civilization outposts just more POI (points of interest) in general in the future and give explorers something to actually gain. Elite Dangerous for example you can scan planets and sell those scans at stations and still make profit.

Very odd to say the least.

It should have stated that I basically payed for a pre-order.

A bit disappointing and pretty bad advertising.

It does state that as the user above posted, the dates for tests are posted and you will have access if you bought the game to the next test in a few days and the beta comes out soon. Always read the fine print on everything before buying.

As holes are made in the ground for mining it would be nice to have the ability to fill holes and gaps in terrain voxels via a terraform fill hole tool. There would need to be limitations around its use above ground though to prevent entire constructions out of terrain being abused by ownership mechanics.

I would love this addition for the ability to pretty up areas.

My largest concern about this game is the opportunities that griefers will have. I hate pvp, doesn't matter what game it is, FPS, RTS, MMO doesn't matter. I detest the concept on a fundamental level. I plan on building ships, I already have designs for required dozens of players to use efficiently. I also want to build space stations and shipyards. I have absolutely zero interest in participating in any combat, all i want to do is build.  I like the idea of "arena zones" that are specifically for combat. Otherwise players like myself will be griefed endlessly by the more disreputable members of the community. Sanctuary zones need to be more common and easier to make use of.

I think the protections in place will protect you greatly. I am sure that if you are peaceful in nature and want to do only building and no combat there are options for you. However limiting pvp to arenas would also cut down on tons of people who like to do PVP or just play to do PVP.  The STU and GTU mechanics talked about offer tons of building options in safe areas. Space stations are the  only real thing that my organization discussed that almost wouldn't be worth building without having sentries on guard at all times. Since space is open pvp. I am interested in other people thoughts on this.

  15. I would start now. I've already started and am enjoying it.  You save more if you start now, its a no brainier if you are planning to play long term. Not to mention all the other goodies that come with the pack.

Hi Dual Universe Devs, I'm a guy coming from playing game console, but would like to play Dual Universe when it goes to beta. I saw one of your live streams, and you said Dual Universe will not make it way to consoles, and I'm OK with that, but i would like to know if the game will have game controller support. I know a lot of other PC guys will jump on here and make the argument that Dual Universe has a lot of key strokes to play the game, and a game controller does not have enough buttons to hit those keys, but that would not so untrue. I have come from playing PC games like Space Engineers, and Star Citizen. Both games support game controllers, and their keybindings are a lot, but some how i can play both games with a controller without having to use my keyboard for everything. So i know it is possible if the Devs want to give us this options. I'm a huge fan of games like this and would really like to play Dual Universe, but the cost of not having controller support is a huge blocker for me. I would really like you to consider adding control support for player like me who are not very good with using keyboard and mouse to play PC games.

I hope i hear from you guys about this thanks for listening to my feedback.

I don't personally play with controller but I know a ton of people in my organization strictly like to play games with controllers. Even Star citizen for example lol. I hope controller support is on the pipeline.

if you have a second PC you can do that, but DU will not run 2 times on the same PC
play together with others and help make multiboxing useless
the challange is to find enough people to play with so you dont need to multibox
its much more effective than try to play DU two times or more at the same time...
Im just curious how this would look like in Star Citizen or Counter Strike xD
i really dont know why anyone would do that

There are ways of playing DU on the same PC. You just have to have knowledge on how to do it. I personally don't run alts ever just because its too much for me and I don't like doing it. However I know people could use virtual boxing and VPN's within the box. I've had it explained to me how they could bypass the systems in place easily. I wonder if in the future if someone was found out to being doing that would it be a strike against their account or would it just become something accepted. If someone can multibox in star citizen then they got to have a awesome PC or multiple though for SC and CS I don't see a reason why you  would want to multibox at all. In DU I could see it being useful for people that don't play in groups. Personally though I don't think its going to be a big issue.

It is a part of the game. It is not called griefing, it is called attacking. There is PvP for a reason, and that is to be able to attack people. PvP is just a part of the game. You can't just ignore it. Like you can't just ignore that there are TNTs and Creepers in minecraft. I guess that in future updates there are gonna be auto-turrets to shoot down enemy ships, but you just need to set good defense. There is no griefing, since this isn't made to be a peaceful game like minecraft. It is called attacking.

I have to agree with you. Eventually setting up key defensive locations within a base will be needed. It adds more levels of creativity and in my experience in PVP games is that if you make yourself a hard target with good defenses you're less likely to be attacked. A lot of PVP players look for soft targets that don't have defenses. Its not viable for someone to attack a hard target lose half their attacking force in the effort to only get an unknown amount of loot.

Hii let's say Im building a ship on the ground, half way I decide to move and build somewhere else, is there a pick up option to pickup all the material, items and core back to my inventory?

I think you could also blueprint it and pick all the material  up off the construct, then say you could go to another planet and put that blue print down with all the material from your inventory from your construct blueprint.

Is the name reservation based on the name used in this alpha test?  I was not able to change my characters name at creation, so will I get that chance later on?

I think you change your name on the edit profile on the website. My profile name on the website was my character name in game. While it did show my email when I was joining once in game it was my profile name from the website.
