  1. Ok - but how is that all that different from the finite resources getting 'destroyed' when your elements exceed the repair counter? I'm not a fan of the bots, but I don't see how the finite nature of resources matters in this case.
  2. You're only allowed to build civilization as JC sees it. Everyone having a mega factory was too civilized. People building their own iphones from scratch?! What futuristic nonsense! Now get out of your space ship and go hand mine that ore....
  3. Discord is such a joke - every time NQ does something stupid, in slow mode - better not let the community tell us how stupid it is - if they can't talk they'll just leave....it's pathetic.
  4. I don't disagree with anything you said before, but you have to understand that once creative mode is added - it's never going away unlike a bandage... All those fancy hangar bays that you see currently in game are going to instantly become obsolete as there will be zero reason to build outside of VR mode. I'm not going to be upset about not having work in progress ships owned by players who will never return littering the area - but then I'll also miss the days when I could actually watch the ships get built. Although - I don't think those days for me will ever come again. My biggest complaint with it is how hypocritical it is. It's been asked for many times before and shot down each time with that it will remove the requirement to be part of the community to be a ship designer. The industry schematics were pushed to force greater community interactions and forcing cooperation. (It won't, but that was the intent.) Now to fix the issues created by the previous change they want to add creative mode that fully allows a solo player to be a hermit?
  5. I don't think delaying the beta was an option. Developers can't live on their passion for the game alone. This game will die due to failure to listen to the community in setting development priorities. The change with the schematics was a complete waste of development effort. It was not a controversial feature when proposed - and got pushed anyway. Imagine how the patch would look if instead of the idiotic schematic system we got better voxel editor tools?
  6. Funny enough that was the reason the game didn't have creative mode in the first place. I think creative mode is a mistake and solves a problem that they created with yet another mistake.
  7. Illusion of content. Before many felt like they had nothing to do - they had a factory that could produce everything and they just needed to sink in hours mining to throw in the ore to get the stuff out on the other end. Now - they need to sink in months of mining to get the same factory running again. They have a 'goal' now - to get back to where they were a week ago - or they can quit.
  8. That's what really annoys me - whenever people defend it as a change that was needed for the long term health of the game.... It's nonsense. In the long term everyone who ever wanted to do industry will have ground enough to have all the schematics. All that was added was the time sink to get them. You can still do the same thing you could before. Now you just have to grind a lot first - but a year from now we'll be back to where we started. Same mega factories. Just a whole lot of time wasted to get them running again. This patch did nothing but add way more tedious grinding to a game that was already mostly tedious grinding. This should have been obvious to the devs. It was obvious to the players who left this feedback - https://dualuniverse.featureupvote.com/suggestions/122819/recipes-as-items-industry-balancing and yet it got pushed out anyway....
  9. Sell ore to bots. Now get back in the mines. The mining slaves don't get to ask questions.
  10. You know what's insulting? Like - I'm legit super upset about this and it continues to really bother me. JC telling us that mining and industry are too easy. After I've spent the bulk of my time in the game doing nothing but mining and working on industry. Even when I was "pvp"ing - I was mining on my alt to make progress in our industry. 6 hours a day, 7 days a week, since launch - to build a factory. JC who I am absolutely convinced has never mined a node in his life told me that what I did was "too easy". That. That was insulting. But I should be concerned about how my feedback will make him feel? You know what - I don't care. I really don't. He doesn't get to not mine, not build an industry and then cast judgment about something he has never done being "too easy". You are so worried about negative opinions hurting the game that you seem to be entirely unconcerned if the negative opinions are in fact valid.
  11. Well.... Since you seem to be so worried about JC's well being from reading all our word walls - I have good news for you. The current state of the game indicates that he doesn't read our word walls.
  12. English isn't my native language. Everything you have said is completely irrelevant to what is currently being discussed.
  13. Oh man - you're on to us. What do we want if it's not this 'complex sandbox'? Also where did you get your tinfoil hat? It looks absolutely dashing on you...
  14. Too broad. I like the element destruction - but not at the same time as the industry changes. I like the idea of schematics - for FUTURE tech as well as high tier items like say warp drives and warp beacons. I'd even be down if you had to find some of them in wrecks. Or if there was a SWTOR style 'research' system to discover new BPs from smashing items - have an engine that's almost unrepairable? Feed it into research and maybe you'll get a T2 BP out of it... Creating additional tiers of elements that did have BPs associated with them would have been fine. Notice that what I'm suggesting expands the gameplay. What they did was limit it. There is no way I would support anything that serves as gatekeeping in a game that already suffers from having too few things to do.
  15. What is the DU end game? Once again - everyone keeps talking about how we reached it - what is it?
  16. Yup - poor @NQ-Naunet joined at a pretty rough time and got to take a beating for JCs awful decisions in Discord.... I do wonder how a lot of the NQ team feels about the direction of the game, if they agree with it, or just get ignored by JC when they speak up ....or if they learned long ago that their opinion about how things should work matter exactly as much as mine - meaning not at all.
  17. Also - anyone else who spent a LOT of time playing Everquest getting PTSD every single time they hear "The Vision" as justification for stupid game design? Am I the only one who remembers the wonderful days on the EQ forums where you could post pages upon pages explaining why something was not working well and just get told "That's the vision." It was the same deal. Brad had his ideas of how the game should be played - and you could play it that way or go play another MMO - in a time when there weren't really other options. To be fair to SOE though - they DID listen to new ideas. For example, the 'sneak attack' implementation for rogues was added to the game based on my posts explaining how it should work. Still good luck getting changes Brad didn't like through - IE "Epics should require EPIC quests and not everyoen is meant to be able to get one - else it'd not be epic!" (Even if it's a class defining item it seems...) But hey - say what you will about Brad - guy played his own game - a lot.
  18. Yeah - too bad the person whose vision the game is doesn't play the game...
  19. Aww - you think they care what we think - that's cute. https://dualuniverse.featureupvote.com/suggestions/122819/recipes-as-items-industry-balancing Read through the feedback for the proposed schematics change from October - they totally cared what we thought.
  20. Please explain to me what establishing yourself in the game means if it doesn't mean setting up industry.
  21. Skills that were in progress didn't get refunded it seems. So if you were 14 days in to a 15 day skill....you lost 14 days.
  22. That's not even remotely close to what happened.
  23. Oh sure - but that's kind of my point....which seems to have totally missed you - so let me spell it out: IT SHOULD HAVE If a dev says "We want to add this feature!" and the community largely goes "Uhh...that's a baaad idea....you really shouldn't..." - the answer perhaps shouldn't be "LOL - BUT WE ARE GONNA!" Yes planned features go in - but "planned feature" of Org wallets got 1k votes....but schematics was largely despised - and maybe planned or not - they should have taken that as a hint....just sayin....
  24. 207 votes. https://dualuniverse.featureupvote.com/suggestions/122819/recipes-as-items-industry-balancing The comments even back in October 7th were mostly negative. What is the point of this voting and commenting if NQ doesn't listen anyway? So many comments explaining why this is a bad idea - back in October...and nobody gave a damn.
