  1. So you just created an account to resurrect a 3 years old thread? And then you created another to do the same? @NQ the problem here is not if auto archive is on or not. This was not a mistake, this was an intended action from someone. Ppl dont create 2 accounts by mistake... Track this person by ip and/or by browser signature and if you can find a relation to a regular user, show him some consequence...
  2. No virtual currency will ever be the future unless a government sponsors it. No goverment will ever sponsor a virtual currency that they cant control. And you may think other wise but your thinking fails once you realize that new currencies can be created and adopted over the old ones. Making the old ones obsolete. So only a goverment backed currency will stand out against newer currencies. But that does not mean we cant invest in crypto. But its not an investment in the future. Its more like a casino bet.
  3. I wonder how cross-section is calculated. Like imagine a small ship with 8 by 8 cross-section. If we offset the entire ship to an edge of the build cube will it still be 8 by 8 cross-section? Its cross-section/periphery of the ship(used for burn calculations) calculated from center of the build cube? Or from the core? Or from the center of mass?
  4. You mean this? https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/forum/50-public-test-server-feedback/
  5. Look, its all about perspective. 1st the game is in beta. This by it self should nullifying most if not all of your complaints. 2nd. computer programs have different areas of code. An incomplete game(or simply badly coded) can have a avarage run below 40% and later have a spike and even crash because of exhausted resources. So talking about avarage values is useless. To understand what is happening you would need to make graphic with 100ms precision. 3rd. When ppl reply to you suggesting you to buy more ram or better cpu, they are not calling you pc crap and they are also not saying DU is preforming as expected. They are providing a work-around for you to have a better experience. Like, performance issues are 100% NQ fault. Between NQ bad code, bad infrastructure or simply bad logic. Its not your fault or my fault. But all we can do is: Have a bad experience Or Apply the work-around Or Uninstall To make sure you dont experience this again, dont invest in alpha/beta/early-access stuff. Buy/subscribe only to already released games, after reading several reviews.
  6. Thats a very simplistic way of putting what happened into words. There were 2 fronts in this battle. The industrialists that wanted everything to be player only traded, under the flag of "player driven economy, facing me and 2 other ppl. And then, there was the unrealistic commonality of T4 ans T5 ores at the beginning of beta. We all agreed(even the ones gaining advantage) that there was a problem. Many fixes could have been implemented: The world could have been reseted with a much lower distribution of rare ore. Bot buy orders could have had their prices reduced. But industrialists realized that it was time to strike. While a few (less than 10) heavily bombarded the forum with 2 - 3 new topics every day, and a few other were very active in discord. A special group of players united in writing and signing a direct complain to NQ (action not publicly known). Some of those ppl that signed it acted with the urgency to prevent more economic damage. But in the end only something like 50-100 players ever got to express their opinion on the subject and most were forced to choose a solution because of the urgency of the issue. I was on the other side of the battle. My solution was a massive reduction of rare ores(even suggesting smaller nodes(100l))and the creation of respawing ore nodes(random new location) At the end NQ decided to remove higher tier ore orders... But many problems associated with that quick fix still exist today. In many places, players still get rich quickly by selling ore to NPC orders. But instead of T5 they sell T1 and T2. This happens because of the absurd abundance of ore on every planet. That ore is there because of ores not respawing forces NQ to spawn 1 year worth ore on day one. As the ore is mined, mining will become more painfull, with miners frequently finding the ore nodes partially minned. This will lead to economic depression. To fix this depression, NQ will spawn more planets. Planets with 1 year ore on then. Again making players sell to bots... At the end NQ fixed nothing by cutting the bot orders. Just reduced the speed of enrichment. I will be here to say "i told you so" on this one.
  7. Not saying they are. Just saying that every NQ's failure or success, someone said "do it" and someone said "dont do it". This creates an 100% probability of an "i told you so"
  8. Current tutorials provide a good source of exploitable income... All of that was reported to NQ back in September. But are still availabe to players. We have also seen the exploiting ore buy orders on sanctuary moon that capture new player's tutorial sell orders. Tutorials should happen in a sandbox mode without any connection to real DU universe. Players should have the tutorial on login menu, instead of logging in to the shard.
  9. I never said 32gb was a requirement. But with memory leaks all over the place, the memory usage will slowly increase. From my m8s experience, players with 16 or less were having crashes in a 3 hours interval. While ppl with 32 or more were were able to play for 5 hours and usually had to restart the game duo to performance issues instead of crashing. Of couse that several other factors are involved in here. Other crap installed in your computer, like streaming, anti-virus, having 9999 tabs opened in Chrome... Gameplay style. Traveling to markets frequently, using surrogates to instantly load new planets. Or simply staying still in a empty place. Cache settings and speed. Page file settings. Internet speed and latency All those things will influence performance and how often a game crashes. But having more ram will help.
  10. I would say that 16gb is dangerously near the limit. All ppl i know saw a big improvement in stability in upgrading to 32GB. Having a NVME ssd is also a good upgrade if you dont have it already.
  11. But that is to be expected. Since for every suggestion, someone else gave a counter suggestion.
  12. Look, im not saying that it does not happen. But its not frequent. But the alternative is ppl using fetch to place ships in orbit or get ships from orbit. Or have NQ do some spaghetti code to decide when fetch ia allowed or not, and then have 1 new topic every week with some dude not understanding how fetch works. If occurrences are low, just ask a GM to help you when it happens. If you found the trigger of the bug, report it to NQ and try not to trigger it(if there is a cave below your base, move your base or dont land on your base) And in some point i even agree with you, 1st thing i said to NQ was "24h cool down is too long". But it is unfair to call this feature useless, specialy on a ship stranded in the air. When the player can easly go there by their own means. And it is clear, by the tone some ppl use, that some ppl think it is a feature they can use and abuse it every time they need to move something heavy. Maybe they could check if the ship is underground and extend the range in that case.
  13. I fully agree with you. I sugest that there is a menu, when placing a core, where you choose out of 3 forms: 1 - cube - current cube with 100%x100%x100% 2 - square box with 140%x140%x50% (usefull for winged planes) 3- pole with 200%x70%x70%
  14. I never had a de-sync making me fall from a ship. I did fall many times from ships for being careless. I had this happened because of 4 issues: 1 - player forgot to buy a respawn node 2 - respawn node was not activated 3 - respawn node got destroyed in crash 4 - server had some heavy maintenance and respawn nodes were reseted. The only thing that is actually NQ fault is the 4th. Every thing else was the player's responsibility. Also, as was already stated, NQ will respond to any uncommon bugs. And if this occurrences become frequent, then making NQ aware of the problem is beneficial to the game.
  15. Can you provide an example of a legit bug that left a player stranded more than 4km away from his ship?
  16. I feel like fetch is an unbugging tool. What this means is: "if your construct cannot be recovered in any other way, fetch" "any other way" also includes paying some dude to give you a ride to your ship.
  17. Too many new players fetching xs cores with L containers from dig sites to markets...
  18. To give you a free pice of land where you can park your stuff without any fear of rule change or new mechanics.
  19. There was allot of topics asking for "avatar fast travel" Surrogate were their interpretation of what fast travel could be.
  20. Also usefull for ships that got stuck underground duo delayed rendering. The feature is used to unbug some bugged construct. And not to teleport stuff around.
  21. In my opinion what was broken is the the ore being so damn common. And it has to be because there is no ore respawing... But my comment was not to defend or offend the bot orders change. It is to show how. NQ was taking player feedback into account. And we can all say player feedback was responsible for that change. We can also say that player feedback was also responsible for the attempt to fix the huge quanta it generated by capping at 50m quanta. So its very unfair to say NQ does not take feedback into account.. About schematics.... Yes, its because of player feedback. Specifically feedback like "There is no specialization on industries, every body can craft anything". And we all remember this kind of feedback all ovef the place. Players may not have specifically asked for that solution. But that solution was implemented in reply for that constant feedback.
  22. I do blame the current CM for the current and still imperfect managment of this community. IMO the CM should give some feedback to our comunication. That feedback does not have to be agreeing with our comunication. And all of our comunication (with in reason) should have some kind of feedback. Even if it is about the star being blue. What i feel like has been happening for a while is that some ppl had a special connection with NQ, unlike most of us, and are now being ignored. Maybe its all about the discord change. Maybe no one is replying to those "complaining" emails... But from my perspective (someone that only used the forum for feedback): NQ has been refusing to comment on any if our topics for 2-3 years. And lately have been improving. So what ever recent change, for the worse, you see, it did not affect this forum.
  23. Thats, IMO, very false.... If i start a topic saying "i think the star should be blue" How will the CM be in trouble for asking "why you think that?" Or "you got some points there, i will transmit the to the team" And also any CM has a choice, do their job, in the best way possible to not get fired, but risking it. Or dont do their job and become a forum moderator and a English text writer/reviewer for the management. Does this community seams managed? Who had the responsibility to manage it? Its like the call center girl saying "im just following procedure". NO. Anyone working for a company IS the company and until they quit or get fired they are responsible for every second they choose not to act.
  24. I blame most of this game's feedback failure on pre alpha ppl and some alpha dudes. And yes nq did hear you allot. Surrogates were nerfed because pre alpha feedback. T4 and T5 npc trading was removed because of your pre alpha feed back. Tiers of industry and schematics were introduced because of pre alpha feedback. You know it as well as i do that a certain group of ppl. Not only pre alpha, some alpha org leaders were also there, had a "special" connection with the devs, during alpha en the beginning of beta. You know most radical changes that the game suffered were sponsored by that group.... You know that that group was given replies to their feedback. I wander if you were a part of that group. Because if you were, you are not in the moral position to complain about transparency of feedback...
