    Got more links?

An EXPO isn't the same as stealing Intellectual property, tho im sure some ships there were replicas.  Many more were unique designs, promoting DU.  So I have no problem with that at all.  And my Talemai forum thread had 5k views.  A lot more than 500 likes on twitter.

You do understand how an ingame DU ship EXPO to show off your DU ships is 100% completely different than hosing a specific IP star wars event?!??!?!  The expo did not say "bring us your best star wars and star trek ships to show off!!!"  No it advertised as bring your "ships" to show off.   You are not a very bright person.

Their views are actually fairly limited and pretty much focused on their personal wants from any game and not anything that serves the game  as a whole.

Come the fuck on man.  I am me.  I cant be anyone else.  I play DU for me.  As you play DU for you.  But to say I don't care is just talking out your ass.  I can and want DU to be the game I want it to be, or I will quit and play something else.  The original pitch from JC is the ONLY reason i'm here, as it directly appealed to the type of game I want to play. Player driven, open world pvp, safe zones, but small.  High tier ore in pvp zones.  Pirates, wars, building, alliances, espionage.   All those things.  Guess what the fuck DU was NEVER promoted with.  "come here so you can enter into events and steal other well known Sci-fi intellectual properties, and exclude those you dont want."

So dont come at me fucking sideways with comments like that.  And you know better too. BOO is a million times better for the game then any of those star wars geeks are,  Because BOO is promoting DU, and playing within the DU universe, and playing by the rules I might add.  Also dont you find it funny that my Talemai blockade got the attention of NQ, where Devs showed up, and even tweeted about it, and posted in my forum post.  Because i was promoting DU.  Unlike this stupid ass star wars event, NQ was no where to be seen. Wonder why? Oh ya star wars isn't their IP.

Nope, im one of the guys waiting 3 hours behind a bush in dayz to just take the shot and move away without even looting.

But in dayz we are all there for the end of the world.

Here, some ppl will be here to create stuff and show it on this events.

And they are forced to do this in open pvp area because there is no mechanism in place for certain consented pvp duels in the safezone.

You guys decided to go kill ship designers, to make sure they would suffer for their dream.

Was it a tactical decision, nope.

Was it a economical decision, nope.

Would it bring any glory, nope.

Was it good for DU in general, nope.

What was it good for? Your ego.

The cost? Other ppl's deep sadness and desapointment.

Probably some youtubers advising creators to not buy DU.

And now you want us to acknowledge your excuses?...

Maybe they are playing the wrong game then? It was never touted as a game where you steal another well known IP, to have a free zone to do a mock battles.  So In that regard BOO is actually the good guys. Promoting DU and what it has to offer.

And you have ZERO empathy with those ppl.

There is a word for ppl that cant feel empathy.

I do have empathy for people in real life.  I can only make assumptions, but mine are these people doing the star wars thing are using free time to engage in a hobbie.  Further more, they are also bound by the rules, and entering pvp zone,  anything can happen. And after the "fight" regardless of how it goes, I take it as they are still alive and well in real life and that also makes me happy. And for their to be winners in a game someone has to lose. Part of healthy competition.  So I really have no idea what you are talking about.

We had almost the same at that telemai blockade fight :-(. Only 1 of 7 gunners got hits, rest were all misses with hit bar showing 100% hit. It seems it randomly affects people or something and due to not having that much opportunities to check this we are yet to find a solution.

Yup I had the same thing in talamai fight too. My ship only had 2 gunners, and despite both having 100% probably of hitting. Only 1 gunner would land shots,  while the other had 100% misses. And ive constantly experienced this in 1v1 situations so its not isolated to "big events". And that is what is truly worrisome. We all hope NQ has a trick up their sleeve for 0.24....but the reality is we get a dev blog about how now you have to push a button to activate your jet pack. Wonderful.

Yes, following the rules and not doing dick moves are to separate things.

Laws do not forbid you from eating pizza in front of homeless ppl and their kids while saying "its soo good, i wish you were not so poor so you could buy one of those"

One thing you forget is real world analogies dont work  at all In these situations.  Because in your little scenario the homeless person did chose to be poor (bring a RP ship into pvp zone that would ne out matched).  And further more its rather disgusting you would make light of real world issues (homelessness and hunger) and equate them to a video game which is truly a luxury to sit down in a home, with electricity, internet, and free time and a good computer to voluntarily play a game as a hobbie.   You need to take a long hard look inward my friend.

  7. All of this reminds me of the scarface scene him drunk in the restaurant where rants "you need me, so you can point the finger and say that's the bad guy".  In the end tho this game isnt star wars.  But some good did come of the event, non star wars ships came out and had some fun and pew pewd.   The more pressing issue tho, is after 5 years of game development is NQ has been unable to have any size fleet fight actually "work". One of the streams I watched had the worst bugs and desync through out the whole fight. It just doesn't bode well. And even more alarming is I also experienced these bugs even in 1v1 scenarios. The servers cant even support a 1v1 without multiple bugs and fuckups, and desync.  Sad days.

that is the truth and the result of that will be less and less events and the braindead griefertrash (they are not pvpers) will not understand that they are the reason for it. if i was admin i would permabann every single one of them and it wouldnt hurt the game at all because they are only a 1% minority.

You know these "events" dont do shit for DU. You know that right? Real mechanics and real stuff to fight over will.  You do realize this game wasn't built for "events". Players have the freedom to do what they want especially in the pvp zone. You are clearly delusional. But if you ever want help we can hop in a discord channel sometime and I can explain it all for you if you want.  But in the mean time, take a moment to think about this.....you think the health of dual universe, is for people to get together and steal someone else's IP, and do a mock battle, instead of actually doing stuff to further the interest in DU.  Create your own lore in game. Eve doesn't make headlines doing mock battles stealing someones IP. No instead they boost their own game and their own lore. That's what DU needs.

Attacking some random ppl in pvp space is "griefing" and a "dick move"

Smh. Wow what a bunch of irrational snowflakes

They will never understand.  Also, incase people here are slow, this is DU not star wars.  Sure you are free to build replicas, but you arent entitled to ANY space in the game you cant actively defend.  This game will never thrive because a few nerds wanna go LARPing in pvp space. You want star wars? Go watch the fucking movies or play one of the games that has the rights to the IP.  The rest of us sane adults want dual universe.  The stupidity around these parts can be astounding at times.

I like the building and the (flying) adventure part myself

Thats pvp too.  Unless you plan on flying only the couple starter planets, if you wanna adventure out, its in a pvp zone.  Wanna build? thats pvp too, taking resources from someone else, or claiming a land someone else maybe wanted. PvP.

  11. This whole subscription during a shitty beta was a bad Idea. Don't get me wrong, I like that its going to be a subscription game, im all for that.  But for a released game.  It would have been infinitely better for themselves and would have made just as much, if not more, by charging a beta package at $39.99.  Then announced once "release" hits you would have to have an active subscription to access the game.  People would be more understanding of beta level gameplay.

right now, the only "point" to building people can see is pvp...but there's a lot more to the original DU pitch than that. It was always supposed to be about having a role beyond boring pew pews (if you want)

So that seems to be the big problem.  What point is it to build a city in the safe zone?  When there is no function, you just have pretty looking buildings that are empty.  Except for people who put up factories, but most people wanna do that for themselves, and the rest they buy from the market.  So again, PvP adds function, therefore its always going to be better.  Thats why this game needs majority of its focus on pvp.  You are never going to have a huge population living in a city together depending on eachother in the safe zone. It wont happen, especially how the game is now.   But you have a chance at that in a pvp zone.  How does that saying go, "necessity is the mother of all invention?"  Where is the need in the safe zone? There isn't one.  And there never will be one.

I haven't been around that long, but wasn't the safe zone much smaller originally as well? From the posts I've read about how the game has evolved, it seems like a lot of the original kickstarter design goals have changed over time. From your experience with pvp how much would removing the outer planet safe zones actually improve things? If people continue to enter/leave planets in different directions until they reach warp distance, wouldn't everyone still be too spread out to have frequent pvp engagements?

What you see now, is the most pvp zone we have ever had.  In late alpha 3 the was a small circle pvp 50su long that was it. Beta hit and its what we have now.  But kickstarter and many videos promising "only sanc moon and some of alioth safe" and that higher tier ores "t3-t5" would be in a pvp zone.

  14. 1 minute ago, GraXXoR said:

im sorry but white a number of PvPers believe and have stated that the safe zone is arbitrary, and should be abolished. As should safe warp travel. That sounds to me like 100% PvP.

but what you are asking for seems far more balanced.

Warp is never meant to be safe travel, AT ALL.  They have even stated so.  All warp does is reduce your travel time. Its not a get out of pvp free card, or wont be soon enough.  And the VAST majority of pvpers dont want to "abolish" the safe zone.  They want the outer planet safe zones removed as was said it would be that way from back in the kickstarter and "high tier ore would be risky to get".  For someone who visits the forums frequently, you sure dont know shit.

It was initial plan (talked about in one of old 2016 interviews):

Then for some reason it was scrapped. Likely when EVE guys initialy working with JC left company.

Ya seems like that could have been a very indepth game mecahnic for industry, but was instead scrapped for some cheap "here go buy a schematic from bot so 10seconds later do the same thing you were just doing pre 0.23"

That all comes back to the other MASSIVE elephant in the room though, the fact that this is packaged as a launched beta.  Personally I think this was NQ's biggest mistake and one that has gone on to cause problems pretty much across the board.  If this was still and alpha, if this was still testing and making the game for launch in the future, the narrative is completely different.  Would be a big thing to do but if i was NQ, I would consider pulling the plug on the launch and reset it back to alpha.  That is a massive call though, and a very difficult one to navigate.

I think the general public would have also recieved it better if they charged 39.99 or something for a beta package.  Not like they are making hand over fist now with their $7 subs anyways, and people would be more ok with it.  "ok ya its early access beta, but one time charge and I can play all the way to release, then sub".

Not sure if you tried the mission system on the PTS test, but it actually looks quite flexible and open ended.  It COULD end up adding a huge amount to the game.  Org wallets are also a much needed addition.  I am not going to make up my mind about either until they are in the game and we can see the uptake.

The mission system is a massive step in the right direction, as it allow direct communication about products and services in game, something you generally have to go outside of the game for (Discord etc).  So for the first time, if you crash you can requests repair support, if you run out of fuel you can request fuel support, if you want a product and dont want to go to the market, you can order it for a player to deliver it.  It is a piece of the puzzle, and important piece if it works well.  The biggest issue with the mission system though is that is if FAR more complex a task than a standard MMO mission system due to the fact it is player generated.  This means the number of variables involved are far greater than in a traditional NPC driven world.  So it will be difficult to pull off.  I am interested in seeing how they do it.

Ya thats all we get though right. "potential".  I get the mission system can be very good, down the road.  But something like an org wallet should be basic and just be a footnote in the patch, not needing its own devblog, especially when its completely bare bones, 2 rights to it, no separate divisions. etc.

  18. 5 minutes ago, Moosegun said:

100% agree this is how they should have been created, would have made it part of the player eco, NOT part of the weird NQ bot army........  Has got to be my biggest issue with NQ, the sheer number of times they remove stuff from the game (or miss opportunities to add stuff) which will improve community cohesion and interactions.

    - ore bots which create short term solo gameplay loops and wiping out the ore reserves, rather than encouraging sales to players

    - removing any reason to pvp at all, zero risk game

    - removing player salvaging by stopping people claiming destroyed ships

    - the complete lack of ingame communication / marketing channels for people to actually advertise the services / businesses they are making

    - lac of player trading terminals and dispensers being not really fit for purpose

    - lack of clarity about how territories and player made safe zones will work in the future, so we have a chance to plan

The problem isnt as such, there is nothing to do in the game, the issue is there is no way to let anyone know what you are doing in game.  For example, we were making a large commercial / shopping complex but it is all actually pointless at the moment, as there is no way in game to get anyone to shop there.

So many good points, which really makes you wonder about all those videos in alpha where they talked about a "player driven universe". I see absolutely NONE of that now, and no sign of it on the immediate horizon. But HEY!, we are getting org wallets with 2 rights.  And a mission system (sorry only hauling, rest will come later TBD, lulz).
