260k tiles on Alioth and you are tilt for 20 scans... I just think this game is not for you imo.

Btw there is no interest in T4/T5 on planets, except creating less content in PVP or interactions between orgs/alliance and not enough roid in SZ (MU just need to be nerfed, cuz they created an imbalance with the main big tiles already reserved and NQ need to push players to go on roids, even in SZ)

well i have now scaned 170 tiles on Alioth and no luck on t2 ores, and i have come to the conclusion, as you mention, that this is probably not for me.

I have not seen any mention from NQ about this, and have to assume that this is not considered an issue needing attention from then, im guessing working as intended.

    Hi evereyone,

We deeply apologize for the wait regarding the missing Sanctuary Territory Units (and other in-game expected backer rewards).

As you may have noticed the fix has been deployed last Wednesday and should have solved the issue for the most part. The only ones who should be currently missing a Sanctuary Territory Unit are the Contributor Backers. We hope to fix this last part next week, if everything goes well.

However, please bear in mind the Contributor Pack did NOT originally contain a Sanctuary Territory Unit.
The reason why we are going to give 1 Sanctuary Territory Unit to every Contributor Backer is to make it fair for everyone:

In an old communication, we promised that Kickstarter Backers will get automatically some of the Supporter Pack rewards from an equal level (Silver Founders  gets some Contributor rewards, Gold Founders get some Sponsor rewards, Sapphire Founders - and above - get some Patron rewards). In that communication, a mistake was made in promising a Sanctuary Territory Unit to Silver Founders, while Sanctuary Territory Units were only included in Sponsor and Patron packs, not the Contributor one. As the mistake was on our side, we decided to proceed. However, as Silver Founders are supposed to be on the same tier as Contributor Supporters, this situation seemed to us unfair towards the Contributor Supporters. That's why we decided (and mentioned in our previous communication) that Contributor Supporters will get a STU as well. When this decision was taken, the fix that has been deployed last Wednesday was already in preparation, and adding that in the fix at the last minute would have a risk to make a mess. That's why it was decided to proceed with a separate fix for this specific category of players.

    Last but not least:

If after the fix from Wednesday, you are still missing a STU (or another expected in-game rewards) and you are not in the case of waiting a STU for being a Contributor Supporter, then please contact our Customer Support by submitting a ticket mentioning that you're not in that specific category of players and you have checked your inventory after the fix. To contact our Customer Support team, you can do it from this page.

    Best regards,

    Nyzaltar.

well im not waiting on any reward, but i got to get in here and praise the communication, more of that 😃👍

Personally, I like how you can use it to see that "Unknown Server Errors" are still occurring on industries, just like in Alpha!  Nice that they haven't changed that "feature".  You can lose time just like we have always been able to to.

Oh, and when playing with teammates - apparently "he who starts" an industries skill override skills applied to a factory, reducing output.  Another cool "feature".

    Hold on second....🤔

Are you implying that the game wasn't ready for launch, just like when it launched into "beta 🤣".

Almost seems like in 2 years they will try launching again, maybe call it "ultra finished, now with less bug's "

And obviously they'd have to double the time on the steam tryout as obviously there would be more time gates after 2 more years.

And they could then double the price again.

"Yea but guys, now it's Really ready"

    🤣🤣🤣

  4. What the future of Dual Universe hold for me?

    well lets see....

1st im gonna save some money on alt accounts.

2nd im gonna have to try out different game loops to see if there is some hidden gem in the game i have missed.

3rd if 2nd does not come out positive before main account runs out of time, then save some more money on main account 🤪

and a distant 4th must be to see if i can get greeted by shams on stream, i feel left out, probably the only du player no personaly greeted in the streem 🤣

I have no other means of communicating to them, and the more fanfare this gets the more likely they are to read.

Yes, but when NQ provides a platform for communication,  and seemingly don't use it, I fail to see the logic in asking for another platform for communication.

Seems that starting of by using what's already there would be the best option.

Well they dont seem to be. So this is a way to make sure they hear us.

Hold on, wait a minute. So you are taking to the forums, that you yourself doubt are being read by nq, to suggest something to nq? 🤔

  7. Well a game did this pretty well almost 20 years ago, infact 2 come in mind, first swg. Every so often all ore spots on planets shifted, so ppl had to rescan and move harvesters, maybe not perfect, a bit of tedious buissy work but it shook things up when the rich kids sat on the best spawn and could pay maintenance for years.

Secondly there's a little space game that clearly is an inspiration to DU where mining is not a problem, loads and loads of ore to mine, its the PLAYER driven economy that regulates if ppl bother mining, too much mining prices go down, not enough mining, prices increase.

I don't think there's a stand alone fix for each broken system in DU, it's a complete new vision to how things should work together, and then implementing them that's needed, probably too late for that after 2 launches, maybe should have got the game working and ready in beta, and THEN launch it, but who knows.

What was it Tod Howard said about launching unfinished products? Maybe nq were listening.

OK, so there should and I'm trolling a bit here.  But IMO there should be limits to what's available in the safe areas of the game.  If you put a large amount of really good territory in the safe area people can claim it and keep it forever.  And nobody can ever take it from them.  For me that's a huge advantage for people just because they started the game first.

Really the vast majority of tiles should be contestable in some way to prevent people from sitting on them forever.  Perhaps not PvP, but then there needs to be another way for me to contest your tile.  Perhaps I can force a tax auction for it or something?

It could be done with a rent system, not saying it should, but it could. Again such a system is in place in EvE for office rent in stations, if the demand is high, rent rises, if people start abandoning the offices, prices drop.

In here you could have the base cost be 500k as it is for territory units, but if I fancy your plot I can offer to rent it at a higher price,  leaving the ball in your court, to offer more, ore give it up.

And to prevent too much abuse, you can only challenge a tile if it has a free tile adjacent to it, and also set a system in place so the challenge of a plot costs something, so you don't get challenge  griefing  and maybe a portion of the collected funds for a bidding war goes to the winner of the bidding.

    Hi everyone! ❤️

I promised I'd be in here to answer questions, but the list grew A LOT! I'm having the entire team pick at the questions to ensure I'm delivering the best answers. :) (Just so you know why I'm delayed.)

NQ-Pann is in the process of writing a stream recap as well, so please be on the lookout for that in the coming days.

    The pattern NQ follows:

Start bringing up a new "thing" in interviews

Work out what they think will be the right way to go and start implementing it

Towards the time the patch is going to be released, post a devblog on it

Invite discussion which is pointless as the change is already set and beyond the point of making changes.

NQ also doe snot engage in the discussion nor actively work with the feedback they get.

6 months go by after patch

"We heard your feedback and are reworking the way this works"

Kind of work some of the feedback into the mechanic but as there is no actual structural record of the feedback it is mostly half done.

and that is the exact reason for me to post hehehe

I want to see if NQ is changing their MO or not... I fear the answer is not ?

If wipe confirmed, many of them leave or go sleep mode.

yes to an extent, but the opposite is also happening.

For me, the no wipe means that I quit(that is not the only reason, but a big one), and not because I am behind others, but because i fear it will prevent the game from growing from "launch", it is (not, but should be) growing now because it has already launched.

Now on the other hand, if there would be a "we will wipe" confirmed, where you get to keep BP's, I would probably keep playing on and off until launch, focusing more on building a strategy for myself, and a good bp library to carry ower, getting settled real nice in groups and orgs, to have a good vantage point at game launch, because then i would have confidence in the influx of players at launch, and more confidence in the long haul of the game

For me at least, the confidence in the game and dev team is NOT that they cant deliver a good game, I truly believe they can, given time and money

  12. I see a lot of different reasons here for people quitting or thinking of doing so, and sadly that further strengthens the main reason for me quitting.

There is always a loss in player base when a game launches, and after major update player base influxes. All aspects of the game seem to be "loosing" players right now, and I fear it is more than just the normal decline that is to be expected.

Reading through this thread, and a lot of other threads on this forum, I'm gonna generalize and say... people quit because ALL features are at BEST in their infant stages, many not even conceived yet.

Which then leads me to say "This game should never had ben "launched" like this."

For me it all comes down to this.

Does this game/dev team have a trajectory to "success"?

Success is of course different from company to company, and person to person hence the ""

But one thing I deem a big parameter of success is financial stability, and as far as I can remember, I read or heard somewhere that that is one of the reasons for the subscription based model of the game, and I fully support that.

So, to keep a subscription based game a success you need x amount of players to be subscribed, and here is the first red flag for me. NOWHERE can I see or have ever heard of what NQ needs or expects player numbers to be to be financially sound, and that might be ok if I had heard something like "we would be happy to reach such numbers as EVE has over a couple of years", or "50k players would make us happy" ore just something. All I have ever heard is JC's "We are developing... with a possibility for... hundreds of thousands or even millions". I know, that is not to be taken as "we need millions of players to be ok", but in what ball park is the expected/needed number of subscriptions?

And here comes the reason for this wall of text...

What are you gonna do if you do not meet those numbers?

My fear, and one of main reasons for me quitting is the following scenario.

    • game launched as it did, and is now suffering for the unfinished state
    • If they get updates out on a regular basis, an influx will occur, and then natural falloff
    • at "launch" (my best bet is in 1-2 years)there will be a big influx in players especially if and when they launch on steam and other platforms
    • My fear is here. A lot of those new players will drop of quickly, and many of them with a bad taste in their mouth du to the game "launch" they bought, is actually not a launch at all, that happened 2 years ago.
    • specially on steam, this will leave a "stink" on the game, bad reviews, if not all out review bombing, refund claims ect. and halt the player influx.
    • after that (if not sooner) we will be introduced to the in-game store, where items developed for the game, are kept out of the game for you to purchase. And despite it being a subscription based game, excuses like "its only cosmetic" or "not enough subs to keep development going, only maint." will be used.
    • more people leave
    • DU goes F2P to increase players, in-game store is filled to the brim of digital crap for you to buy, and not much development is going into the base game.

This "fear scenario" is fueled by lack of communication from NQ, forum post going unanswered, tickets taking 2 months to answer (that is my own ticket for lost items due to the early inv bug where items just went "poof" when picking them up in build mode), "discussions" about updates, and upvote on features does nothing for my confidence in this project (that should have happened long before you "launch" the game).

So to sum it up for those not bothered to read the wall...

The premature "launch" of the game, and handling of the community since said "launch" has completely eroded my faith in team and game.

    Thats why I quit

    Discuss below!

    Why?

What is the purpose of said discussion?

Is this still in the planning stage, so a discussion could change any of this?

I have seen questions asked in this "discussion", but only a single response from you NQ to iterate that this is all element damage not only pvp.

Reason for me asking is, I have quit playing the game for now and a factor to me quitting was lack of communication.

Since I quit I follow here on the forums to see if things improve, I see a post like this, but still no communication between NQ and players, only players asking into the void and speculating.

    So I ask again...

Why is this thread created NQ?

What do you (NQ) get out of a discussion like this?

Do you (NQ) even read through this? and if you do, why? Is any of it subject to changed based on the discussion?

Now lets see if this is actually an improvement to the communication and discussion, or just "fake interest"
