  1. For me the number one tell is the “lapsed subscriptions not actually lapsing” fiasco. Have you ever heard of companies not charging for something they said they were charging for? Repeatedly and regularly? Imagine cancelling your mobile subscription and still being able to access the network for free. Nevagunnahappen. A company that is regularly and repeatedly kicking their remaining paying customers in the happysacks is not long for this world. IMO.
  2. The DU project page on LinkedIn is now down to 1-50 employees… though of course they could have always had just 51-52 employees and two layoffs dropped them below the threshold…. mayyybeeee….
  3. The same time we get XS space tanks and XL atmo engines, probably. it’s taken them 2 years to make XL containers and they are pretty much shite / obsolete for most intents and purposes apart from theoretically massive >10 container blueprint deployment and willie waving. so i’ll say wait another two years and, if the game is still in development, ask again.
  4. You're probably entitled to your refund if it's taken within two weeks of an online purchase in the EU or if you've played less than, say, a dozen hours. Have you played longer than a dozen hours or been a subscriber for more than two weeks? If so, then sure, you'd like your refund. But you're probably not entitled to one. Reminds me of all the people clamouring for refunds from Kickstarters when the device they backed doesn't launch being surprised that they couldn't get their money back. Never bet what you can't afford/don't want to lose on a prerelease product. Full Stop.
  5. that’s a pretty shoddy response to a customer. not sure why you don’t want to share the screen grab though. Makes the information feel more immediate and dare I say it, authentic. Still, look on the bright side, at least they’ve moved to a F2P model these days so you don’t have to worry about wasting any more money. ?
  6. no it doesn’t but like I said, whatever, mate. try and spin it whatever way you want. もういい
  7. I was so called in a different thread, not here. but like I say. If we all had the design for outlier mentality, cars would place the driver within a solid steel shell susPended from high-g fighter pilot harnesses. But we design cars to be safe for their perceived environment and able to withstand most regular accidents with a decent survival chance of the occupants. my rig was designed and tested for what I assumed was all loads and for six years it demonstrated that fact.... ie. the fact that this and only this game even put stress on the old rig. Something particular about its workload combined with the intel 4xxx and 6xxx series pushed mine and numerous other people’s rigs over the edge when they were otherwise fine. my Ryzen doesn’t even spin up the fans on the water cooler beyond stock speed and the water temp stays about 30 degrees in DU, just like in other games like Cyberpunk, CPU behemoth Cities Skylines with mods and some heavy VR titles... and I have done nothing more than I did on my old rig which held the same water temperature of about 30-32C but ONLY went berserk in DU. TBH, I don’t care any more, my current CPU doesn’t even breath heavily in DU any more and temps are nominal without any tweaking. I was merely stating that if you want DU to run and you are having temp issues just remove all overclocking and undervolt slightly if you are so inclined. DU just doesn’t play well with OC on some hardware combos and puts far more stress on the system than other software.
  8. Again I understand the “it’s your fault” brigade. But when there is one program out of over 300 that causes the issue, is it really the users’ faulty any more? does one have to engineer for the 0.33% probability edge scenario? at what point does it become unreasonable for you? 1/500? 1/1000? when you have a machine that has been flawless for more than six years from all loads from Bitcoin mining to video editing and rendering to benchmarking and copious 4K VR based seriously demanding gaming scenarios and never went above 70 degrees C and yet you have one single program with dodgy pre 2010 level graphics that constantly causes you borderline edge-case issues, is it still a case of “you are stupid and your cooling is stupid?”
  9. You honestly think that not having PVP is why the builders left.... bwahahahahah... there were many reasons why our org members went into hibernation but PVP was not first, second or even third on the list of reasons. You’re like a broken record mate, or like the one trick pony who always tries to make the discussion about yourself and your favourite stained rag. not everything revolves around you and your desire to live out some empowerment fantasy story at others’ expense.
  10. There have been countless simple fixes posted on here for literally years. NQ night as well be o e of the Absent players for all the activity we see from them.
  11. Sorry, our org moved to Madis... I stuck it out on our tile next to yours for a few more months and continued to develop the area but got bored playing alone... sometimes entire weeks would pass and I would not see anyone. Madis is slightly less deserted than Sanctuary. This is a six hex area.... Just on the corner of the sharp kink in the road -centre frame- is Madis Market Place 3... It looks absolutely tiny compared to what we're building... It's fun when multiple orgs get together, share resources and collaborate... almost feels civilised. ? The thing is, we are hemmed in by hexes belonging to former colleagues of our orgs who have completely and explicitly left the game... (you can see those feeble little buildings on the edges of the screenshot...) and there are absolutely no mechanics by which we can gain access to those areas.
  12. Now I think about it, you’re right. It was one of his letters from the chairman where he recommended this exciting looking new start-up kick starter. Got to give credit to the bloke for giving the nod to his competition.
  13. Super simple tip, Why didn’t I think of that!!?? Well done!!! I had 3 keys sotting there for months.
  14. Not interested in self-styled leaders stroking their... egos. when I make ships, they all have all the mod cons like kitchens, toilets, bedrooms etc. ive made hotels, offices, restaurants and other completely unnecessary things that make the place feel more real. that’s the extent of my roleplaying. Certainly wouldn’t root for anyone who just comes along and declares themselves a leader.
  15. Also doesn’t help that you can continue to play after your sub runs out anyway. That’s not going to be an incentive for players to continue to pay, is it? the joke is calling this game a beta. I call it a Balpha: an alpha masquerading as a beta.
  16. Playing Elite and Star Citizenbut they lacked any creative input form the players because there is no building only parts customization. then played NMS, loved the base building but soon maxed it out with a large base and the game started to break. So I wanted to be able to create like in NMS but with more rigorous physics and less fantasy/aliens, less limits and more collaboration.
  17. Been playing the game daily again since around valentine’s day. only about 5 of us out of the 50 or so registered in the org still play. 0.23 was brutal on the player numbers. But our lot are working with an org called MTI to build up the area around Madis District 3.
  18. I had the same thing. This is still the only game or indeed software to ever overheat my old PC and cause it to compeltely reset, not even blue screen many of the times... it’s an intel 4770k Z97 based machine and was rock solid until this game came along. Naturally, the game’s defenders crawled out of the woodwork, basically saying it was my fault. Which, of course is not completely wrong since I did build the PC myself. Seven years 100+ games including Cyberpunk 2077, a janky 5K resolution Kickstarter VR headset and yet DU is the only software ever to crash and overheat my pc. but yes, I’m apparently an idiot according to the usual suspects in here for thinking that I could use the same setting that my PC uses FOR EVERYTHING ELSE and expect it not to overheat on DU. as it turns out my chip now only runs at base, locked speed with zero overclockability probably due to electromigration. Basically it lost the “k” functionality. TL;DR in short, this game has had zero optimization and WILL overheat your CPU by hammering the AVX instructions without remorse. Just run your cpu at base speed, apply a slight undervolt and add it to a motherboard preset. That way you can put your computer back into adult mode when playing anything besides this.
  19. 2 months? Look at what they’ve achieved in the last year.... now imagine what they could achieve in 1/6th of that time.
  20. The whole concept of designing dispensers that accepted money but didn’t actually show what they dispensed was pretty indicative of NQ’s naïveté, IMHO. pretty much like how J-“it will potentially take months to get into space”-C himself seems to underestimate the level and cunning of his player base at every given opportunity, almost like clockwork.
  21. Just add 1L to all the voxel honeycomb amounts. NQ don’t know how decimals work. they also have no idea how to make a friendly UI as in simply listing what is deficient; this is a high school UI design course level mistake.
  22. I just found out there are XL containers.. and moreover an extended XL container. Was that introduced with triangle glass? The thing is twice as high, long and wide as an XL container... Why is it so big and heavy though? so inefficient. Just doesn't make any sense at all. (except if you need 10 of them connected to a hub !! O_O) Now all we need are XS space tanks and the game is complete ?
  23. And that shit disappears from the economy into the aether never to be seen again... just like the hideous ore bots sucking the economy dry right now.
  24. Careful… mentioning another game will summon Joacordeiro to report you for advertising competitors’ products. ?
