When taking this community into account, the PvP aspect, the proposed mining and flying abilities, 6 months to have a city running is fast. to answer your points: 1 the actual building will need logistics and large industry and containers to even start, this will take some time. the amount of voxels needed for a city are Huge! However, if you can get all the people for a city to actually mine and build time could be reduced, but then i talk about hundrets of players, not in the ten'ths 2 DU material handling, mining and logistics this will be weeks to months for mining these loads. It is a city not a small build. A city is only a city when it fills at least a full territory, preferably more. 3 yess, decoration will take even longer and i did not take that into account. 4 indeed, the actual LUA needs and logistics, specially logistics need to be build prior to building the city. This is also one aspect why it takes long, beside full logistics you need to build full industry capable of building a city that spans over a few Kilometers
  2. You are correct, and about the city, there are already organizations that can support you and that will help. Within CATS we already are planning this also to get the best spots but if you need help getting there or any other help, just contact me and i will do what i can! We City builders must help each other, the best way to make cities Viable is to have them all interlinked in neutrality or friendship.
  3. That would be on discord or in the community page, but the community page is currently down. While DU is in alpha our actual building is minimal but all preparations, diplomacy, organization, testing in-game, is well under way. There is a roadmap, but while the community page is down i will try to fix it today to a format that i can post here. There is building in game, static and dynamic specially for this project so i will include that into the roadmap
  4. Agree, within curent Lore there are some posibilities for Roleplay but in the end they all have the Arc in comon, what ones past is before the arc or past it can be filled in. For my character i do have a background and a lore, i even added my whole organization in it and some more. Posted it on outlook Zebra and with that i see it as part of my DU roleplay. Nothing fancy but a way to be in the game, a good gamer always keeps game and real life split with priority on life but it is the most easy way to keep real life issues away from any game.   6. Let me add a few cents, Day one, we will see crappy bases springing into life everywhere, no design but effective. These will stay there till about a week or two. After that some orgs will start to build new bases not from blueprints as they discover that blueprints need so much inventory space to place it will need a whole base to place a bp one. Most bases will be practical and efficient, beauty will be from efficiency and only a few orgs will build for beauty. Who will survive? I have no idea but in general the people who can build with least materials, fastest and most effective will survive. The people who build gothic palaces will probably perish fast if they start doing that at day one. If they however first fly to a sanctuary moon they have a shot. Leaders and Orgs? There will be Drama, loads of it Some leaders will think their people will listen to their demands but when day one arrives and the promised PvP ship is not there, they will leave before telling goodby. Some leaders will be more friendly but lacking charm and vision and also the members there will be gone soon, or take over. Some leaders got there by manipulation and playing the field, now they need to play their members, that will probably last sometime untill a stronger charismatic leader emerges. Orgs is the same, Well organized orgs with dedicated people will lead the masses, even when these organizations are small. The largest organizations might fall if they cannot fulfill their promises to their members and people feel put back in favor of others. Some PvP orgs now see that PvP is not end game but a struggle to get too and they camp the starter zone hoping to get some loot, this can work for some days but in the end if there is no backbone and no-one wants to do the basics, muhhh Cities: We will not see cities the first 6 months Maybe villages that emerge unintended but cities like tortuga, tranquility and all the organization cities we will see after 6 months. Why? A good city will need a good background, organization and project management. Also there will be a need of stock-build on materials and probably something of 6 months will be needed to get the materials to actually build according to any design. For me, my DACS will be put in good for Tranquility, if using them for it is a viable solution. First war: Day one Already about 7 organization have sent each other threats and war accusations and probably these will escalate at day one Sanctuary zone: Probably filled within a year Hmmm more questions?
  7. I have good hopes for Tortuga. Although it feels connected to BOO it is stated as neutral and in my opinion only neutral open to all cities will be viable. If not for the market and trade reason there are alot of other reasons. We from Tranquility also hope to be welcom in the grand city and one of the reasons we are going for the mobile (galactica) approach is to not interfere with planet based cities. I also see a bright Future here for "The New Horizon" who wants to transport people from city to city over vast distances. A City like Tortuga can bring alot of elements in DU that else would never be there. Most people think about cities like Tortuga and tranquility as just a bunch of people, or failed experiments but they really should be seen as the future origin of DU stories, Roleplayers and players that want a background story can live glorious lives in these cities and if the caretakers of these cities get the chance to help them it will be in the best interest of DU. We now get questions why there are no NPC's, well the story must come from us. And in general Cities will help, either Tortuga or Tranquility or the cities from DSI or Empire, they will help to build stories.

  11. Ahhh i love these questions, And i will try to answer them all. First what is a leader, there are several ways to be one. But are all leaders or just heads of an organization/business. I have been in MMO-land since the first GuildWars and have been an officer or organization head ever-since. Not by choice but by vote and i think that is the difference between MMO-Land and the real world organizations. So what is a leader in my vision, a leader should coach his/her people to become better people in either profession or in Life. A leader should bring out the best of people, inspire them to be all they can be, give then self-confidence, challenge their ideas and believes respectfully with the intent to inspire the person. A leader is not an owner, not someone to follow blindly with fear of repercussion. That is a Tyrant. A leader should indeed be a respected person who is either chosen by the people or who people choose to be with freely. I hope to indeed build a Dynamic Flying City for the people, by the people and With the people. Not for my glory but for the glory of all. Thats also why the city will be neutral, that way everyone who would like to contribute is able to. And about our expansionism, yeah it is there and we really do not hide it but it is also a neutral version, we want to build bases on moons and planets that hold markets, residential zones and some small industrial areas. So do we think small and only one city? Nope, we are thinking very Big There is a team that coaches all aspects of a large Multinational with the idea to become one big happy community. Already the plans for a second flying city are there as can be read in our lore and we will build the remnands of a past civilization, also in our lore, specially for those who like to roleplay abit. The idea is to use our neutrality to be able to provide stories and meaning, a background in gaming for people who like to dive deep in DU with some background story. And so there is room for that. We already promote to take up refugees and others in need and to provide sanctuary for those that need it. And there will be a lot more on that chapter.

  14. Tranquility is entering a new Phase in operation with the new features presented in Alpha 3. Anyone, and really anyone interested is free to join us on our journey to Find the lost world.   16. same as democracy and freedom, also not the same As this is a way to get a point made i think you are doing a good job, point is made And reading most parts of NQ about DU it even seems your organizational purpose is legit, which probably is the reason of concern for a bunch of people.

  18. And if i recall correct, the intention for NQ is to have the game free after release so technically you do not have to be a suporter to be a player in the end. Still you do have a point, false accounts should be investigated if it becomes overly clear. And players who choose the largest organizations just because they are large are in general faction/guild/org hoppers and small specified orgs are better of without hoppers so they can build and invest in their brilliant ideas.
  19. I would not mind seeing aesthetic accessories and bots in a shop outside the game world. I would also like to add the possibility to see your char outside the gamesetting, like you can in aion and FF14. A possibility to see your character and progress in your profile, maybe even add open or completed duties and achievements.
  20. So yes, there is progress, what this progress is i cannot disclose here but lets say we will have a fully functional flying city when DU releases. This city will have a full defense force and working industry. It will have residential areal on moons and planets and a staff that is active 24/7. It will also have a vast network with other organizations and locations in DU and everything that is needed to have a good start in DU. Just remember that the city is there for the people, by the people. So i may function as spokesperson and target but i am not the city, just a part in it. The city is at the moment 65 active members and about 55 active organizations that support it including 3 vast alliances, 5 defense organizations, 2 mercenary groups and many trade and NAP treaties. All for the people by the people.

  22. Hiii all, well the progression on the city is mainly diplomatic and in design of the city and ground resorts. we will only start to build it after release. I think we will have room for the temple as we are planning to have facilities for our sport partners this is one of the activities we can see as such
  23. Indeed for a game that is subbed a freeze is unwanted. not being able to play would not hinder you to pay for a sub, and if you cannot pay that cannot be a reason for a freeze
