  1. The obvious reaction is moving all assets to Sanctuary and build temporary mining outposts on other planets and moons only. Than NQ will be once more surprised that we don't play the game as intended and come up with the next crazy idea.
  2. Some might come back for the gold rush. But most will leave forever.
  3. That doesn't stop NQ from pushing us in this direction and nerfing solo gameplay is much easier than implementing the required tools..
  4. And you are still free to go your own way solo. It just gets harder and harder.
  5. DU was always advertised as a civilization building game and it seems NQ still has this agenda. They don't want solo players or small orgs. Large orgs get favoured and those who doesn't join them get punished.
  6. And than stuck with XS ships? Either it is to long ago for you to remember how to start this game and to work your way up to the first AGG ship or you just want to defend your endgame position from newcomers. You should keep in mind that there will be no endgame without a game and that there will be no game without new players.
  7. You mean no entry level ships anymore? That sounds like the most effective way to discriminate agains new players.
  8. You can repair T5 elements with T1 scrap. Replacing elements requires the corresponding recources and if you make them yourself the corresponding industries, schematics and skills. That's a difference light day and night.
  9. We actually have something like that for element recovery. But after some rage in the forum it has been limited to PvP damage. It is very unlikely that NQ brings it back to PvE damage or even implement additional penalties.
  10. But it was at least possible to build and run large factories just for fun - to optimize it for maximum efficiency, speed or flexibility and than to see everything running as planned. NQ killed that kind of gameplay because it doesn't fit to a vision of their game that will never become reality.
  11. Territory and constructs on Sanctuary should remain in order to encourage players to return. Otherwise they will leave forever. In order to save resources these tiles might load clean (without terraforming or constructs) as long as the subscription is suspended.
  12. Considering the market 15 disaster it would be a good idea to do that with disposable accounts.
  13. I am going to move all my stuff to Sanctuary and abandon all other tiles. Thus, no money sink from my side.
  14. There have been similar responses prior 0.23, telling NQ in detail what will happen if they do that. And they did it. And it happened. I don't see a fundamental change in their behaviour. I expect them to do it again. When I read the list of proposed changes it even looks like they are destroying the game on purpose.
  15. Just look at it from the other side: They already lost 20% of the potential audience long before the game is finished.
  16. In order to prevent a new wave of disappointment such an advertising push would need to be honest. That includes that the game must be advertised as what it currently is - an alpha version. But that will not happen.
  17. It's not as easy as it sounds like. There are static constructs placed undergound, surface flattened for runways and so on. Imagine the rage if all that gets lost in the dirt. Terraforming is one of the basic features that make DU what it is. Removing it would be a very bad idea. A possible compromise could be a limitation of terraforming to the building grid of static constructs, together with sufficient communuication in advance in order to give players a chance to stabalize existing terraforming by placing cores (as long as they didn't reached their core limit).
  18. It stopped working. That's pretty much the same. Given the prices of schematics that's even worse than erasing all industries and buying it again. The quanta required to run the industries is not anywhere near enough to buy the schematics. It was sufficient to make a small fraction of the industries running and that's it. It was not possible to use them to make money for the rest because the markets collapsed due to schematics. Everybody just sold ores to bots and nobody was buying. For the same reason it was not even possible to get quanta by selling most of the factories because everybody tried to do that and the markets have been flooded with industries. The industry guys who didn't horde enough money to do that left the game. Which ever way you look at it - "wanted a freebie and everything at once" is an insult. They just didn't want to lose everthing at once.
  19. That's a very unfair comment. For industry players schematics was the equivalent of a full wipe.
  20. Yes, it would not be bad in principle. But that also applies to schematics. The problem is how they are implemented. I hope for the best but I'm afraid NQ will find a way to make energy management just as bad as schematics.
  21. That's intended. JC's last vision of industrial gameplay was mass production of a single product. There is no reason to open the factory again if it just turns ore into screws. Complex factories that can be adjusted to changing demands have been mostly hit by schematics. That's why many industrial players left after 0.23
